outward feels like proto elden ring, such a good game that needed way more eyes on it. So glad your coming back around and playin git again, anyone who played elden ring and is looking for something similar to scratch that itch should get this one
Seeing you play Outward again is one of the coolest things ever! You got me into the game way back when you made your original videos on it and now I love the game so much. Super hyped to check out definitive edition.
Been looking for a game that actually feels like an adventure everytime you step out. First game was Morrowind back in 2000, the next was Final Fantasy 11 MMO. Brutal world, very difficult, everything took a ton of time, and it really felt dangerous and adventurous in both games. But that was over 15 years ago now, and been waiting for a game that hit that special feeling. I'll definitely give this a go.
You referencing Morrowind and Final Fantasy XI is so incredibly flattering to me. These were indeed my two main inspirations for how to design travel in Outward. They're two of the most important and influential games of my gaming life. - Guillaume (Creative director/CEO)
@@ninedotsstudio I am definitely looking forward to giving it a go. I've been dieing for a game like this for ages. I wish I had known about Outward years ago.
They should give the player a "Lightning Rod" debuff when wearing full iron or any metal armor. It should be a persistent debuff as long as they wear the armor. When it rains, there is a chance the player is struck by lightning.
Helpful tip for using halberds is you can start with a light attack and followup with a heavy attack and in this attack animation you will swing your halberd a bit slower but with a bigger punch and some more bleeding with the fang halberd.
The only thing i complain about is that there is mounts. The devs should have added mounts to help carry even more things. And it would be cool too cuz the mounts could also die from weather or enemies. Giving the game more of a survival. Not only that but mounts provide faster traversal...
I remember it took me 2-3 days to get the power core!!!!! And great to see you playing this game again i remeber most of your weapons walkthrough ESO and it help me alot thx alot and love to see you finish this play through.
most enemies are "right handed" so walking right around the enemy instead of left wil result in some attacks landing te your left instead of on you. this is only realy relevant for 1 handed oponents, but it doesnt ever hurt to do it
One of my all time favorite games. I am glad they are rebalancing the building mechanics in the three brothers DLC, collecting building materials is so grindy it is borderline unplayable
I'm glad you are playing through Outward. I'm hoping to learn a thing or two from you! Thank you, thank you! I'm so starting over and follow your lead! 👍🤘😎 I just bought the game, because the world looked so amazing on Steam... in theory... but man the combat is so tough, every single enemy just wipes the floor with me. There's no "easy zone" at the beginning lol I do love the way they handle death though!
Hi, your back! Watch everything you produced on Outward, loved all of it. I've been playing ever since. Have a lot of fun, even though there are challenges I still cannot achieve. What I would love to see is when the main quest line expires player has the right to (a)removal of the skill that was originally bared. Or (b) open another skill tree slot giving the player a forth skill. I hope you have the support for a complete play-through. Keep up the good work.
I’m planning on picking this game up on either pc or Switch, so your videos are coming out just in time ESO! Thanks for the great guide! Looking forward to the next ones. :D
Watched you play it before and tried it myself according to your advice. Got hella wrecked still. But it's fun to watch you play it again. I'm glad I saw the vid and got a chance to watch another playthrough of it
Hahaha how everyone reffers this now to Elden Ring. This game is 3 years older than Elden Ring and besides of this there are games like Demon Souls and Dark Souls that are 10 Years old. Outwards is more like an offspring of these 2.
Thank you very much for showing the GAMEPLAY to this games Definitive Version I’m on Xbox Series X and I just pulled the trigger and got it from this Gameplay I use to see it in the store but was like naw it’s the old gen version
Great game! I remember getting the Platinum for this awhile back and had an amazing time getting it. Awesome the devs did this for free as I am looking very forward to playing it again! Also my first playthrough I went full on archer as well it was super fun and very deadly with those dot arrows. Great videos as always my friend Skol!
I wanted to get the upgrade in order to get the PS5 upgrade. I already own the ps4 version. I was told I just needed to purchase the 3 brothers upgrade and the PS5 upgrade would be free. When I purchased the dlc, I saw the PS5 version was now showing "Upgrade" I upgraded and was charged the full price of $53 cnd plus the $8cnd for the DLC, so I was charged $71 total. Not recommened.
Good to hear it is as hard or harder than Elden Ring. I almost bought Outward but I dont like these sweaty - eventhough beautiful - games. Sad for me since Outward looks so amazing
I've got Elden Ring on PS5 and can't get into it tbh, I tend to buy games and then regret it later, this really worth it or are there better games out there like this
I had the original version in my Steam cart and before I could buy it on sale the Definitive Edition came out at $40 and booted the OG game off of Steam.
Would be great to play on the PC if the requirements wasn't so high...you need a damn i-5 just to play on minimum settings..my PC is only A9 7500 and keeps crashing every time I move my PoV...so guess im stuck with the original on xbox 1-S...
I gave up on this game because there’s no mission icon and I don’t know where the hell I’m going or doing or how to proceed through the main story I gave up I work 60 50 hours a week I don’t have time for stuff like that That’s why I stop playing Eldon ring I just don’t have time any advice will be helpful thanks
I can’t remember what the program is called but there’s a mod manage I used for risk of rain2, and it had outward on it. May come back and replay this game for the dlc and a bunch of QoL mods on it.
I followed the development of this game since it was Kickstarted and bought this day one, I loved the idea it would be survival based and super challenging, I wanted to love this co-op rpg so much.... ...But honestly, there's such a thing as too much jank, like the feedback is bad, the combat is rough, the character creation is absolutely mind bogglingly terrible (unless you're RPing as a 60y.o. Ninja retired from Fortnite streaming). . . I played about 6 hrs trying to get into it, but even as a souls veteran i was honestly stumped, but, in vein, kept it on my shelf in hopes that the devs would drop some miraculous patch that rehauled the game entirely...
Okay ive seen this criticism that combat is janky all over the place, 99% of it from dark souls fans. Nothing against dark souls but i feel like you may be approaching the conbat like dark souls, which you shouldn't be. Because its not dark souls. honestly i dont see the jank. I like the feedback. I remember playing the game for the first time and going: wow this feels great. Even tho i sucked. And like any skill. I got better. Meanwhile i pr much detest the combat in dark souls, (ive tried multiple playthroughs, dufferent builds, none work for me) its not my playstyle. So i think it may be less jank, and more just... different. I know im probably not saying a popular view and even other fans of the game think its jank. But ive personally never seen it. The character creation is fairly bad though thats 100&)% valid.
Do not approach the combat like dark souls at all. I play both games, this needs to be done very differently and I think From could even use some inspiration from the combat in this game. I find it very satisfying, mostly due to how intuitive the stagger system is, you know exactly when you can and can't go on the offensive because you can see an indicator on whether or not you can stagger something. And everything in the game can be staggered if you keep at it. The weapon and class skills are also so so fun. Especially the parries
I completely agree. And I haven't even played Dark Souls that much. But now that you mentioned that you are a fan of Dark Souls I think all of the fans of this game, that see your comment here, will probably try to "correct" you and say its not janky, no.. its your fault, due to your love for Dark Souls, that is affecting how you enjoy this game... I can't help but feel that this game could be improving so much by now if it didn't had such a gatekeeping community that lashes out at any criticism.
Not turning it off entirely but there's a passive skill that makes it much less prevalent in the game, making the time it takes you to feel tired, thirsty or hungry much longer.
I wish I could focus and get into a good game. I have depression and just can’t get into anything. I like your vids tho eso. I do own this game just don’t have the motivation.

It's a learning curve for sure. The fun begins with exploring the different crafting items and saving up money to buy an Alchemy kit or Cooking Pot to sell higher quality items and actually start making bank (I haven't gotten that far but that is my early bank strategy). The game really puts an emphasis on the difficulty of earning money from the start with the player owing 150 silver that is due in 5 game days. Failure means you lose your property rights. I failed... I died probably 6 times, and each death progresses game time in random increments from one day to several days. Not to mention, you spawn in random places on the map, sometimes across the map from your starting village and the trek back takes a day or two... Plus you don't heal when you respawn so you need to sleep to recover... Which takes more hours out of your time limit... Long story already told, you are better off doing a quest inside the village for a pass on your debt (I forgot what they call it). The whole owing a Blood Debt is a narcissistic way of controlling villagers and is very Communist. I'd say if you wanted to experience Communism, this game has it in spades.
I looted the same places as you did but didnt get the same items . Is it random loot ? ( Edit. Well started a new character and did get some of the same items so yes some loot is random )

How can u Compare a real Gem game Outward to EldenGayring please outward is so much fun to play.
@Lukas Zen right i killed maybe a few 100 enemys in outward. but in elden ring it was a few thousand lol. it felt like a zombie apocalypse.
