  • The campground at James Island County Park is located minutes from downtown Charleston and Folly beach. The campground has been carefully located among large water oaks providing full hook-ups, large level lots and a wide mixture of big rig friendly pull through and back in sites.
    Campground at James Island County ParkThe park is much more than just a campground. This park offers beaches, two dog parks, a water park, a climbing wall, a challenge course, cottages, meeting and event facilities. The campground is located away from the high traffic areas and is very quite. One benefit is the close proximity downtown Charleston, museums, historic plantations, Fort Sumter and so much more. Folly Beach is 3 miles away offering beautiful beaches and great restaurants and fresh seafood.

    We were just there in December for their Festival of Lights......AMAZING! You need to camp there during Christmas season if possible! We agree, one of the nicest campgrounds/parks we've ever stayed at. Plenty to keep our boys busy! Planning on going sometime in summer to enjoy the Waterpark they have there.

      Michael, they still had the lights up during a trip. Many were still lit in the campground. I image it was very pretty. Last year we visited the Festival of Lights at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA. They really are fun.

    Thanks Jerry for the great review. BTW would you mind sharing what type of Satellite and Cellular antenna your using for work on the road. Looking forward to James Island.

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  3 года назад +2

      Sure thin Tracy. We use a Dish Wally and Winegard X2. X2 is a bit pricy, but has one of the larger dishes to minimize rain fade. Couple upgrades recently for cell data. We purchased a MoFi 4500. Also installed a Poynting antenna. Couple of videos that may help. This has our satellite set up. ruclips.net/video/0QEsZMkYqU8/видео.html We also talk about cell service, but upgraded recently to this ruclips.net/video/f3bW5RUp2Ww/видео.html and this ruclips.net/video/8quC4gOhrDc/видео.html One note, we may add a high gain dual yagi on a painters pole later if we start having coverage problems in more rural areas. So far we haven’t had the need. Hope this helps.

      Hi Barry and Maze. About a month before we arrived. This was mid February and there seamed to be a good turn over of spaces. I would image the summers and holidays are really busy. This is a very nice campground with much to do plus Folly Beach and downtown Charleston being minutes away. Jerry...

    Did you have problems driving on Central Park Road? I read that it may be a problem for larger campers. We have a 5th wheel identical to yours. We will be diving down form Myrtle Beach. Thanks

    I have a question. When you publish videos, do you have a choice in what ads are shown? I have a problem with some of the political ads that show up on various videos.Thanks.

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  6 лет назад

      Unfortunately, I have no control. At least RUclips hasn't given creators that ability yet. It's similar to TV - a random placement based on your location. I'm an avid RUclips viewer and can attest to the random ad placement depending on the state and city we're located. I hope these commercials don't sway you away from our videos. We strive to share informative and entertaining RV and travel content and choose to stay away from the ever growing political fray.

  • @lindaj

    Wonderful content as always. But why are people allowing dogs in a lake that potentially has alligators? I lived in Florida for many years and at least monthly there were stories of dogs being killed by alligators. Alligators are ambush predators and can launch an attack with amazing speed. Do not swim your dogs in areas with alligators folks!

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  2 года назад

      Thanks so much. We didn’t see any. This was January in South Carolina and had been very cold. Day of shooting the video we had shirt sleeve weather. Agree about Florida. We go often. Unfortunately I know too many instances of pets and alligators that didn’t turn out well.
