Brookfield Gardens is across the street filled with beautiful plants, art, and history. Admission tickets are valid for seven days. My husband and I would ride our bicycles from the campground to visit. Beautiful area!
We just visited there and we hiked and toured the nature center and walked the beach. We visited Myrtle Beach for my 64th Birthday. We stayed at the Wyndham Towers on the Grove. We ate at Drunken Jacks in My reel la Inlet and did the Marsh walk. Love the area. We checked out the campground and want to return with our camper.
Thanks, Jerry!! Makes me realize how much I want to go back there. Awesome sunrises on the beach. The local eateries. The bike trails. What a place!! Happy travelin' !!
Sorry we missed you! We live about fifteen minutes away from Huntington Beach and visit about once a week. We’ve camped there twice (165 and 173), that section is only a year old. The Claw is our favorite in the ‘downtown’ section, but closer to the park on Business 17 is our favorite, Inlet Provisions. Glad you enjoyed it.
Hi Kevin, would have been great to catch up. We also went to Graham's Landing. Nice spot too. We saw Provisions. Just to many places for a week. Hope to go back soon.
Just want to give some information. The older section is nicer. . Large grass and tree areas with plenty of room between sites. The premium sites are real close not many trees and no closer to the beach. There are plenty of full service sites in the older section with a couple full handicap sites too. Bring a bike or Golf cart because there is plenty to see. Marshes, the Atalaya Castle, beautiful birds and wildlife. Great food just outside the park.
Agreed! We are staying at over- crowded Myrtle Beach SP. We drove over to Huntington to scope it out for a future visit. We found the "premium" area to be too close and no shade! The older section was so much nicer. Lots of shade and more roomy. Plenty of sites on the beach side if you want to be closer. The beach itself is spectacular just as it is up at Myrtle Beach State Park.
We went there for spring break and it was amazing, we stayed in the premium spots and the Atalaya castle was beautiful. We also spotted a ton of alligators
Hi McKayla. We looked everywhere for just one alligator. Maybe a seasonal thing? We didn’t see a one. Saw lots of deer though. I have edits to complete and plan to show the castle Saturday. That was an interesting place.
I Love RV Life we found a lot of alligators on the trail across from the Atalaya, we would walk the dogs in the morning and in late afternoon and there would be a lot in the water and babies near the marsh area
Thank you for this video! We have reservations for this park in December 2020. Love seeing your videos so we can plan our trip better. Great videos as always Jerry and Joan!
My family and I went to Hunting Island State Park every summer for 2-3 weeks. So much of the park has been lost since we’ve been there. The area you are calling the premium area...was the worst area because of the mosquitoes. We always had the same spot reserved. Right on the ocean side. We could lie in the back bed at night with the tide in and it would come about 5 feet from our camper. We loved it so much. Thanks for the tour, I miss it so much, enjoy! Edited to add: our cast was $23/night including water and electricity.
Hello Jerry, Another great informative video!! Very well done!! Thank you for sharing. I always look forward to your videos. I hope hurricane Dorian doesn't have a negative impact on such a beautiful place. Thanks again.
So grateful for you and Joan sharing this place Jerry! We're definitely going to have to visit this place. Such a beautiful place with all your information shared on the video, I can't see why anybody would turn this place down. Thanks for sharing! Be blessed Jerry and Joan, and y'all stay safe on these fabulous excursions!!!
@@daundrakennedy732 When we got our camper several years ago, that was the first place we took it because it is only about 30 miles from home. The park is small but on Lake Juniper, the parks lake. The sites are gravel and of average size and have water and electricity. Some are more level than others. The lake is large and you can rent a canoe or kayak or swim in the swimming area. There are several hiking trails. The town of Cheraw is nearby and has some interesting stores and historical sites. I wish I had made a video of the park, but it was before I started doing that. SC state parks are generally nice and inexpensive too!!
We haven’t. It’s one of the smaller campgrounds and not sure if we can get in with our 40ft 5th wheel. We like these gems, but 56ft total length with truck limits us.
My husband and I are brand new RVers and we love Joan and yours channel. We watch every one. We love RV Life, too! So much better than couch life! LOL!
Yes Shirley, RV life is so much fun. Great to hear you all are enjoying the channel. Much more coming. In fact we have so much going on, we may start releasing videos twice a week for a while.
We love your channel! We are part time RVers. You guys are an inspiration to us! We just started our channel. It’s been so much fun! Looking forward to all your new videos!
Thank you for sharing! We just bought out first rv and we are watching youtubers to see which SC parks to visit first!! This one looks like a must visit! 😊
Welcome to Murrells Inlet, SC where we have lived for 10 years! It is a beautiful place to live (we are NYers). I hope you got down to the Marsh Walk for some good food, drink and entertainment while you were here.
Norm, this is really an interesting place. Tad pricey, but worth it to have the place to a few folks. Then the fun places up,the road to play at night.
Dining Wicked tuna restaurant. Sushi appetizer and then a great steak dinner. Share two entrees Marshview restaurant. Get the crab nachos appetizer and share any entree
Very nice place but it sure has changed since hurricane Matthew went through dont look the same with out all the Palms that used to be there , was like a tropical paradise .The site I was in you walked over a dune and there was the beach all shaded and beautiful, its all gone now.So open and touristy now o well still nice I guess thanks for the tour.
Depending on the site and dates, they range from $25 - $75 per night. We took our 2yr old son on his first camping trip this past spring and it was under $60 for the weekend
It was. Last week Joe. Got out before it started up the coast. Hope you checked with Ocean Grove to see when will open. Saw they closed down for the storm.
Hi guys...Run for the hills ~a hurricane is coming!!!!! Really now, This campground is now on my bucket list. Miss you for a while.. but I'll catch up. Please be safe and head out when the hurricane is headed right into SC. Left you a message on your website e-mail. Later gator..;-)
Great video. I noticed you have a grill sitting on a folding table. Is it a plastic table? Do you have any issues with heat on the table? I am looking for a table to use, but thought I might have to get metal. Happy travels!!
Thanks Kit. The Olympian 5500 grill we use amzn.to/2ROy823 produces little to no heat on the bottom. We use all the time and the table hasn’t shown any heat stress.
I hate to be the one to correct so I’ll put this in a question form just Incase I’m wrong (which I usually am) but isn’t this state park called Hunting not Huntington? Just in case some one is wanting to look it up. We were there back in ‘08 and absolutely fell in love with it! It is such a gorgeous area!!! Thank you for showing it and safe travels!
Hi Jennifer. This one is Huntington after Archer and Anna Huntington who donated the land to the State. It’s located between Pawleys Island and Murrells Inlet.
I Love RV Life oh ok, I’m sorry, I didn’t know that was down there, I had only heard of Hunting island. I will definitely be checking it out. Thank you for correcting me. 😁

Hi Joyce. We planned to go to the Gardens, but ran out of time. Good reason for a return trip.
We camped there in the 70’s..
Still a neat place.

It's a nice campground. Book early. It's popular.
Huntington Beach State Park is the best and one of my favorites
Now ours too!
We are going this weekend! Can't wait to enjoy the area!
Great beach and Murrells Inlet has a bunch of nice restaurants. Have fun!
Thanks, Jerry!!

Great spot!
Yeah, one of our Fav's. Plus across the street is Brookgreen Gardens. One of the top gardens to visit in the Southeast US
We wanted to go to the Gardens. We ran out of time. Great reason to return!
Another outstanding video!! Happy to see that our state did such a good job upgrading and cleaning up after the storms of a couple years ago.
Area is really nice. Fun place.

Hi Dane. Maybe different times of year are buggy. We had no issues during our trip. Nice breeze and plenty of sun. It is a great spot.
Hello Jerry,
Another great informative video!! Very well done!! Thank you for sharing. I always look forward to your videos.
I hope hurricane Dorian doesn't have a negative impact on such a beautiful place. Thanks again.
Thanks Jim. Me too. Such a nice place. Hoping this monster of a storm spares these fine folks.

It’s a jewel.
Excellent and informative video. Thanks for making and sharing it.

Yep, we’re from Florence SC and love HBSP!! We’ll be there August!!
Great campground. Have fun.
Have you ever been to Cheraw state park in Cheraw SC

One of my favorite state parks!

Hi Patti. A wonderful place. We look forward to coming back. So much more to see and do.
The older section does have spaces that are full hookup. Sewer, water, power.
Thanks
Nice state park and beach so much different than most of the beaches here in Oregon.
Norm, this is really an interesting place. Tad pricey, but worth it to have the place to a few folks. Then the fun places up,the road to play at night.

Oh my goodness. We’re ready to come back! Have fun.
Love this! How soon in advance can you reserve? Thanks! Love watching your videos! 😁👍❤
Thanks. They allow 13 months.

Always wanted to see this park we camp at pirate land and wondered if Huntington was good, thanks
Very nice spot. We really enjoyed it.
Oh my, you just shared my favorite place! We go every year. It’s getting harder and harder to get a spot each year.
It does. Took us a while too. Fun place.
We were staying in Myrtle Beach close to murrels inlet but left Sunday night due to the storm coming in
We headed out last week too. Didn’t want to take any chances on this monster of a storm.
They were repairing the causeway from the hurricane when we were there.
Looks nice just a little out of our price range. Thanks for sharing.
It’s is a bit pricey. This is our splurge spot for the year.
Depending on the site and dates, they range from $25 - $75 per night. We took our 2yr old son on his first camping trip this past spring and it was under $60 for the weekend
We go down 4 times a year never in summer time good time.
I can see why. Such a nice campground and the beaches are beautiful.
Very nice beach RV Park!!! I'll have to save this on my list of places to visit. Hopefully Dorian doesnt wreck it. Thanks for sharing Jerry!! 😎
It is a great spot. Hope the storm stays off shore too.
Dead dog saloon is really good
It is. We went, but I forgot my camera and cell phone too. Good food and live music.
hope you are not affected by the upcoming hurricane. we are sittin it out down in Jacksonville today.
Hi Jim. Saw that monster of a storm and didn’t want to take any chances leaving a few days ago. Looks like Florida was spared the worst. Stay safe.
Thanks. Going on March 9. Spot 158 ☺️👍
Yeah! Great place. Really good food at Murrells Inlet too. Have fun!
Love it! How far in advance can you reserve the premium sights?
Thanks. The beach is amazing and campground is very popular. We made our reservation a year in advance.
Hope this is before the hurricane hit...we are heading down to Ocean Grove and hope its going to be OK next Monday
It was. Last week Joe. Got out before it started up the coast. Hope you checked with Ocean Grove to see when will open. Saw they closed down for the storm.
@@iLoveRVlife we will be calling Friday to make sure. But thank you
we go every year!! this is my 13th year
Great campground and Murrells Inlet offered great food.
@@iLoveRVlife i was there 3 days ago!! its a great place especially the castle
That was a really cool place.

We boogied out of there a few days ago. Super nice place. Hope the area is spared.
How long in advance did you have to get your reservation? Every time we check there are no vacancies. Hope Dorrian leaves it alone.
We made the reservations in February for the end of August. Reservations can be made up to 13 months in advance.
Oh thank you ! We are going in Nov! Thanks for such a pleasant review! Your enthusiasm has me more stoked! Peachy B 🍑🍑👍👍Georgia

I would love to camp down there but we have a condo in Myrtle, so my wife says no way to camping there.
Understand, but you can take the few minute drive and see the castle and enjoy one of the great restaurants at Murrells Inlet.
What's the max camper length at Huntington?
We saw 45 foot toy haulers and long wheel base ton trucks in both loops.
Beutyful is expensive for the most RV people..one day maybe.
True on the expense and equally so for Joan and I. We save for a really nice place for a week each year to treat ourselves. This was it.
Is in my list....and thank you..your videos are number 1..
Thanks a bunch!
Just too nice. But a little pricey.
It is pricey Tim. To stay on budget, we treat ourselves to a nice place. This was it for the year.
Hope your not there for Dorian. You guys be safe.
We left a week ago. Hope this area is spared. A really nice place and fine folks.
