I've been absolutely loving the videos! Fantastic stuff!
I'm not sure if you take/consider requests for videos, but if you do, may I suggest a 'Curry Kitchen' video or a 'how to set up shop' video. Something to go over all the suggested ingredients/spices, pre-cooked prep work (base gravy, garlic/ginger paste, pre-cooked protein etc) tools of the trade (i.e. I notice you use an aluminum pan and wondered if that's specific to the style of cooking or just happens to be what you have) that someone should have hand. You could include any tips and tricks you've learned along the way for a nice set up kitchen!
Another mouth watering dish... so tasty yet so easy to make with that base gravy. I shall probably have to have this one on Easter Monday. Well done Al...keep posting these recipes.
Made this following the video. A really excellent curry and we all really enjoyed. Many thanks
Great videos Al. I`ve been looking to cook a curry like in the restaurant!!! Have you a video on how to make naan or chapati?
some great dishes there Al love it.
I love the videos that you do, you are a true insperation to curry lovers that "do it yourself" thanks once again and keep up the great work....
Thanks, Martin, comments like your mean a lot. Glad you are enjoying them. They are made for guts like you. Thanks again. Al
Love the videos Al . Please keep them going. 👍👍
That base gravy looks banging
Looks great!
Wow! Looks amazing Al
Looks delicious!
Hey Al, how would you suggest cooking in bulk for a party? Love the recipe btw!
Looks nice
I could eat that now yum!
Al, another great video!! I believe a lot of BIR used pataks balti paste in their Baltis but the famous enough Birmingham balti doesn't. What is your view on using this paste. I have used it but the dish ends up tasting sour due to the amount of lactic acid in the paste.
I just love this channel, well done Al
Glad you enjoyed the channel. Follow me on Facebook and enter my competition to win aluminium frying pan!
I will do this. It looks yummy and fresh. Thanks Al.
+Barry Beetison thanks Barry
wonderful videos .. by the wonderful Al
+Ali Kathum Thank Ali
That Chicken Tikka looks more red than mine when I copy your Chicken Tikka Video Al. Should I add some food colouring? Great tutorial again Al.Cheers Rob.
Looks great.....love your recipes....wouldn't like to clean up after you though!
What inch is the balti dish you’re using al
Can I just ask Al, how do you get such good sound quality, and as usual very easy to follow top man.
On this particular video it was literally the mic on the camcorder. Nothing special. I always think the quality is pants lol
Nice one again sir. Thanks to you and your great videos I am now making the best BIR curries I have made since starting, some 30 years ago. Keep up the good work chap. ;)
+mike travis That's good to hear Mike. Have you followed any others that teach BiR? Always nice to get the good feedback!!
I have literally read every Indian food cook book in the library since I can remember. I have been an active member of several BIR forums, but since I discovered Al`s kitchen there`s been no looking back. Your videos are outstanding and easy to follow, and the results speak for themselves. Anyone who is thinking of cooking BIR style curry at home should first pay a visit to Al`s kitchen. I am forever in your debt my friend. Long may you reign. Cheers mate....
+mike travis if you don't follow me on Facebook make sure you do.
where did you get the bowl and cooking stand from
+coolerkin Bought the iron bowl in Indian shop in Southall.
hi al I'm doing this curry tonight for me and my wife what spices do I need and how much spices do I need for this curry for two people.
Hi Ben. The full list of ingredients are listed in the description detailing what spices you need. Do two separate portions which can be done in less that 10 mins once you've prepped everything. I also do a Jalfrezi Balti which I highly recommend.
What's that thing that ur balti pan is sitting on the stove
Hi.. It's a wok stand. it was with the cooker when i bought it. I think you can buy them in kitchen stores.
Have you got a special cooker there with a high heat hob?
Wouldn't say it was special but the centre ring is a higher output. The iron ring sits on top for wok cooking but I place the Balti bowl in the centre to keep it steady.
+Al's Kitchen ah right, I struggle to get the heat I want from the standard gas hobs I have at the moment, thinking of investing in a unit with a higher output hob like yours
How many does this serve? One or two
It serves one. The Balti bowls are 6" diameter. Thx
I want that base gravy. I would pay big money for that gravy.
Base gravy recipe is in the description link. Check it out and make some. Cheers
+Al's Kitchen Al!!! i want you to make it for me.
If come dine with me did a new series you would win hands down!
No. There'd be people complaining how it's too spicy or how they don't eat meat, or that they don't like curries...
please can you make chicken jalfrezi with chicken tikka ?!
+Lee Min Ha ML Hi There. I have both these recipes already on my channel. search for the Chicken Jalfrezi, Al's Kitchen. An then Chicken Tikka, Al's Kitchen. Use the chicken tikka you make in the Jalfrezi. let me know how you go. thanks for message. Al
Didn’t put onion innit
Does anyone have a recipe for the old Mr Naga paste?
Cheaper to buy it, it's only a quid a jar mate.
***** It's not the same anymore though. It used to taste different and was hotter.
+dave smith Then go buy it,this is a cooking channel for people who like to do things for themselves.
+English Heart oh ok, I didn't know that, I've only been buying it in the last year or so.
If you haven't already, check out mr vikkis for hot pickles, the queen Naga is amazing.
+fhhfgj What's your problem, mate? Forgot to take your meds today?
Use a smaller bowl to cook with why don't you...
I thought the same lol...then the cooker top doesn't get as messy 😉🤣

Exactly. Al's recipes are superb, but I cook this is in a far larger pan and then transfer it to the type of container he is using here..
No info about the balti dish at all so annoying when you’re trying to get sorted in the game
