@@aimlessdrive8723As an ex skater who actually has broken their ankle before, I see these as way more safe.i think you actually have to try and break your ankle on this
Had mine for a few weeks now and I love them! I've gotten pretty good at propelling on flat ground or slight declines, but I'm still having trouble getting up even small hills. Is there a trick to it, or am I just not strong enough yet?
There’s a video on their channel about how to free skate up hulas which is very helpful. That technique change along with building the requisite muscles in the inner thigh makes all the difference.
You don’t mention how much leg strength is required to free skate. I’m an athletic guy and my legs go fatigued after a couple hundred feet on flat ground
Dog these are the least efficient mode of movement it’s supposed to be fun! If your focused on this stuff just get a bike plus you’ll probably get hurt on free skates
Is rotating your ankles awkward and do you train some sort of muscle for that? I can ride a normal skateboard, inline skate, and use a ripstick but rotating my ankles constantly worries me a bit since I've gotten many sprains lol
two questions: 1. is the motion similar to how a ripstik/casterboard would ride? 2. is the process the same if you ride goofy (lefty)? do i have to switch sides?
Mate I been riding a ripstick since I was a kid. Free skates just came today, they are 100% different. A ripstick won’t help you with anything riding them freeskates
If you stand naturally in a comfortable way, your feet should be pointing slightly outwards. If you stand with your feet perfectly parallel, your legs are already twisted slightly inwards. The skates just match the natural stance, so you have a full range of motion.
With motorcycles, helmets are required- everything else it's up to the individual. I've worn elbow, knee and wrist protection but never a helmet. People that insist on strapping on head protection might just as well stick to "strap on" skates too.
Just ordered a pair and they should be arriving tomorrow! Excited to see how long it takes me to learn
Awesome! We're always here to help
How are they?
Update please
Guess it didn't turn out that well 😅

Ex skaterboarder here, this is a recipe for broken ankles. Altough very skillful

@@aimlessdrive8723 You are definetely a skater since skaters love nothing more than throwing the word "poser" around.

I’ve never done these but skated for years , trying pumping a little harder side to side with your feet right before you hit the hill
now I want to buy them to go to school lol
You don’t mention how much leg strength is required to free skate. I’m an athletic guy and my legs go fatigued after a couple hundred feet on flat ground
You will definitely build those muscles!
Thanks for the tutorials
No problem!
For Christmas I'm getting a ripstic but I'll get these soon
Does your ankles get sore and if so, how many hours before soreness usually kicks in?
I'm assuming that it works similarly to a waveboard
Thank you so so so much you helped
Glad it helped!
i have the powerrrrrre
Can you do finger free skates?❤❤❤
Would this be faster than someone casually pedaling a tricycle?
Seems like a ripstic but without thes center bar
😮😮😮
First time using them then I would break my ankle 😮
To move is it like a waveboard
Closer to a snakeboard
Would it be possible to freeskate for about 10-12 hours on perfectly flat ground like in a warehouse?
Dog these are the least efficient mode of movement it’s supposed to be fun! If your focused on this stuff just get a bike plus you’ll probably get hurt on free skates
Onewheel FTW. 🤙
I keep falling off my free skates when I’m doing toes in toes out do you think you can help me with that
Make sure you're not progressing too fast and have the balance down solid
@@jmkrideok thank you so much
I've just got mine and still can't do it 😭🤣🤣
Keep at it! Everyone's learning curve is different. Watch the tutorials and trust the process
Is rotating your ankles awkward and do you train some sort of muscle for that? I can ride a normal skateboard, inline skate, and use a ripstick but rotating my ankles constantly worries me a bit since I've gotten many sprains lol
You aren't really rotating your ankles. The skates will begin to glide under you
Thats reason i saw Michael Jackson in front of Starbucks💀
Do an ollie
Watch another vid, you'll see one
Wait I’ve been riding mine with a bad angle. I’ve been riding with them pointed away not together
Give this a try! Ultimately what feels good for you works
two questions:
1. is the motion similar to how a ripstik/casterboard would ride?
2. is the process the same if you ride goofy (lefty)? do i have to switch sides?
It is more similar to a snakeboard (we have a YT vid on the differences of a ripstik). Goofy/regular but you can learn to ride switch also
Name of song ?
So is this kinda like a ripstik/casterboard?
Mate I been riding a ripstick since I was a kid. Free skates just came today, they are 100% different. A ripstick won’t help you with anything riding them freeskates
@@9monsta9 ah alright, thanks!
I'm trying to find a alternative to tricycle in a warehouse because it makes my rear hurt sitting for 12 hours. I'd rather stand up.
The took a rip stick and cut off the middle and added two wheels
So it’s like a disconnected rip stick but with long bored wheels instead of shopping cart wheels?
Kinda hahaha
To gain speed its kinda like a ripstick if anyone knows what that is ( i know what it is )
More like a snakeboard if you've heard of those
@@jmkride nah
That must be a workout lol
Definitely!
Do the throw ticks ruin the sakes
can you use normal skateboard wheels for these?
Our wheels are similar size to longboard wheels
and before you got balance?
It comes from practice! Pushing off again and again on a slight slope, and then moving on to learn the motion 👍
Uhm sorry, does anybody know, are we allow to bring this in flight?
Yes! Every time we’ve traveled, we haven’t had any issues. Sometimes TSA is curious and asks how they work 😆
@@jmkride that's great, thank you!
@@jmkride oh can I just keep it in my backpack? Or should I put it in my suitcase? Cabin or baggage?
There is a much easier way to learn
why r freeskate trucks at an angle explain the science
Easier to rotate your feet
If you stand naturally in a comfortable way, your feet should be pointing slightly outwards. If you stand with your feet perfectly parallel, your legs are already twisted slightly inwards. The skates just match the natural stance, so you have a full range of motion.
Anatomy... It means when you put your feet in a natural standing position, (toes slightly out) the wheels are in line
It's the same as a snake board... Ive both. Well not jmks, ive got freeline groms.
Just looking at this feels wrong
Its not easy
Nope, but anyone can learn!
So it propels like a ripstick
More like a snakeboard. No wiggle
@@jmkride oh okay thanks
can i have for free plsssss 😢😢

So if you use free skates your brain isn't important I guess, he never mentioned anything about a helmet
Helmets are a given when riding anything with wheels. 💯🧐
With motorcycles, helmets are required- everything else it's up to the individual.
I've worn elbow, knee and wrist protection but never a helmet.

So a Ripstick pretty much
No, we made a vid about that
So it kinda like a ripstick
