    So I had these installed a few years back in my bedroom as a sample before making a large purchase for the living area and they looked nice during the summer but when it came to heating in the winter I noticed that my water pump for my bedroom is always running. Checked the thermostat settings and everything looked good. Checked the airflow on the baseboard and it wasn't there. Well it turns out that this specific style cuts down the airflow of the baseboard dramatically. So in other words the baseboard is HOT 🔥 all the time but without the airflow it struggles to heat up the area. So I remove the covers in the winter and place them back on in the summer for the look. As for the living area I still have the original baseboard with out the covers. I'd recommend trying something else unless you want to double or triple your heating cost.

      Hi Alex, Thank you for the post. Sorry to hear about your issue. I have not had that issue at all. I have enough space under mine that there is plenty of airflow and they put out the heat they are supposed to. I have been super happy with mine. I hope you find a solution that works for you. Good luck. All the best. Be well.

      I'm surprised you'd say that because I have sheer curtains installed right above the baseboard and with the covers removed my sheer curtains are slightly moving when the baseboard is being heated, but when I had the covers on there was no movement. I'd probably have the covers on till this day if I didn't notice one of my pumps is always working and the others only turned on once in a while. And after removing the covers the bedroom pump started behaving just like the rest of the pumps.

      @@AlexTsitsyura Hello, Baseboard heating can put off different amounts of heat depending on your thermostat, meaning the temperature of the water running through them. I keep my hot water tank on the “cool” side to save money. Changing the temp on your hot water heater might make a difference. Be well.

    Thanks for the video - I wasn’t aware I could cut the end caps to reduce vertical height - thanks !!!

    Thanks for the video. What prevents them from sliding?

      Hello. You cut them to the exact size of the baseboard unit. Then the end caps hold them in place. Once you slip them behind, friction holds them in place. Mine have never moved or shifted. Worse case is you could put a small bead of clear adhesive if you wanted to at each end. Mine have held up incredibly well. Love them! Let me know if I can help further. Good luck.

    hey man question on these. I have some baseboards that are LONG. like 15 feet. is it possible to combine the covers, since the max size appears to be 6 feet?

    • @LUKESTRONG4LIFE
      @LUKESTRONG4LIFE  Месяц назад +1

      @@richardmoore5161 Yes! They make a cover connector. It looks clean. I did a 20 foot section. 4 seams. It is a cap that covers the seam. Super easy and looks good.

    We will definitely be trying those in our new place with hot water baseboard heat. The old covers are extremely beat up and look awful.

    Hey Bradford I’m also in LI, If the baseboards are missing the front covers can the Neat Heat covers still be used?? Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

      Hello and thank you for the post. According to their website, yes you can! Worse case is go buy one and see if it works. As long as you do not cut it, you can return with with the receipt from HD. This is from their website. **NOTE: Generally, NeatHeat can be installed either over existing front covers and/or dampers (front covers and/or dampers still installed), or in place of them (front covers and/or dampers removed or missing). The existing metal back plate that attaches to the wall is required to attach the NeatHeat front cover.
      Good Luck Pedro! All the best! Be well. Brad

    Will rust not form in the enclosure inside ? We are just covering the enclosure not replacing it.

    • @LUKESTRONG4LIFE
      @LUKESTRONG4LIFE  2 года назад +1

      Hello, I have had zero issues with mine. If you had areas with bad rust, I would sand them down or wire brush the spots first and put a coat of Rustoleum over the spots to be safe. That should take care of any rust issues. Be well.

    Hi! In my small bath the radiator goes from wall to wall without space at the end. I’m thinking I need the splice covers for this at the ends instead of the end caps. Can you confirm? Thanks!!

    Did you use the regular size or the "tall" size? My heaters appear to be too tall for even the tall version of this brand and having issues finding anything to fit them.

      Hello. I used the regular size. When I bought mine, that was all HD carried. But they fit great. I am sure if you contacted the manufacturer with your measurements, they would be able to guide you to the correct one. All the best. Be well.
