there's no potential because the game itself is awful There are 2 types of fighting games -- laggy combo-based ones like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, and twitchy tight-control ones like Smash and Brawlhalla. Multiversus is trying to tap into the former, but it has NOTHING on SF and MK. The only room in the industry is in the latter, because Smash is unbalanced Nintendo-locked trash, so the only place in the fighting game market is for a twitchy tight-control game that beats out Brawlhalla.

There are 2 types of fighting games -- laggy combo-based ones like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, and twitchy tight-control ones like Smash and Brawlhalla. Multiversus is trying to tap into the former, but it has NOTHING on SF and MK. The only room in the industry is in the latter, because Smash is unbalanced Nintendo-locked trash, so the only place in the fighting game market is for a twitchy tight-control game that beats out Brawlhalla.

I think Joker being in Multiversus was an exciting idea for people when the game began. I think him being in stuff like the Suicide Squad game kind of soured the mood. There were a lot of fans that had the Joker as one of their most wanted characters for this game, but I can see why others who don't care as much would be annoyed by this.
The Joker was finished back in 2023 but delayed due to Conroy's death. Makes sense to get him out of the way now
