Totally can see Dale saying “You load this m’fer in the truck!” 😂
I think one of the reasons Earnhardts 2000 season was so good was because they had Harvick testing. The fact Earnhardt wouldnt test is wild. He was too busy. You needed to test back then. Thankfully they had someone like Harvick around.
This is a creepy yet amazing story.
One of those ‘test’ cars wound up being the Atlanta 2001 winner.
“Car 51” is what the car was at Indy that Dale wouldn’t run but it was the car Kevin was comfortable in for that type of track and mileage and he won Atlanta and Chicago in car 51 painted 29 and didn’t win any other races because they were Dales cars and they didn’t suit Kevin’s comfort level
If Dale was still around, He’d shake his head so hard at the kids around today.
I wonder all the time what he would say about some of these current drivers.
@@yankee4424In my opinion he'd like Ross the most, and Joey (not if Dale raced him though) a lot. Given Larson is a bit like Gordon/Busch, he probably wouldn't like him much but would respect his skill. He'd dislike Hamlin, like Brad, like Blaney (shocker), like Erik Jones (he'd realize how good he is in good equipment) like the Buschs, but not racing against them haha. He probably wouldn't be too fond of Chase Elliot. Just my opinion though.
He'd be all for Chase Elliott considering they were Pal's from the time Chase was a toddler..
@@joshpitts7256 Plus chase keeps his mouth shut a lot. He doesn’t cast any stones and up until last year, was extremely competitive for trophies and championships
I don't think he would care that much.
I can imagine the look Dal3 gave him when he said that about the pillow 😂😂
I'm sure Dale would be beyond incredibly proud of Dale Jr. and Kevin today.
"we were young, and didn't care" Worthy of the book of quotes!
The Jordan boys are great folks congrats Tyler on your new baby!
If ya need a pillow!! 😃
Man I miss the Intimidator!!!!
Bless him. Dale was resistant to any change of his "norm". Gave the man a car almost a full second faster, but because it wasn't set up the way he thought it should he refused to drive it. Must be why he was called Iron Head.
Why he died also
@@TEXAS_MAKES_MOVES214we all do one day
@@kishdogg1594 really
@@kishdogg1594we all die earlier than statistical data caused by blocking on the last lap of Daytona attempting to make sure both of your personally owned Cup teams finish first and second?
Wow, that's going to start happening a lot I guess...and the line will be really long!
@@TEXAS_MAKES_MOVES214 How so?
I'm sure if Dale Sr was still around he could have said to Kevin harvick that's not what happened.😊
Harvick is a class act
Sucks we can never hear these stories from the man himself. I know Dale was pretty hard headed and difficult at times but i feel like he would've opened up more once his driving career was over
He started to loosen up "a bit" once DEI was up and running and Dale JR proved he had what it took in Busch and then in Cup. I always to this day constantly think about what it would be like now if that awful day didn't happen. That day really scarred my heart badly. Just thinking about now makes my eyes well up.
❤❤
Btw I dealt with this same issue. I raced from 4-25yrs old. Stock, sprint, winged sprint, legend. Now I watch my 6 kids. But all 21yrs. All the older guys or car owners. Would try to set my car up with a 1980-1990 setup. Why? Because the first success they had was with that setup in that time frame. But they fail to realize the cars, shocks, springs, aero packages, tires etc all had changed. As a result my #1 rule is. ALL SETUPS HAVE A 1yr expiration date and need to be re-certified yearly! If aeropackages are changed it will change everything. Sometimes only a 1% change. Other times 75% change. That rule was born as a result of me being paranoid I would end up like the old guys using outdated setups. It’s so easy to fall in that trap when your in the moment. By nature all Drivers hate change! So with my kids I’m very aware. When I build a new car they will complain or resist. Not because they don’t like it. It’s simply because drivers hate change. You gotta be mature enough and acknowledge it. So you can put pressure to help them change. Literally every new race car, my daughter loves it after she races it 1-2x. But I still have to force her to drive the new car. Just because the confidence gets ripped out from under a driver everytime you change something. They fear the specific car or setup is why they’ve won so much. So taking that car away, rolling in a new race car. They fear they’ve just lost something. Not realizing the new car is 50% better.
#3 lives on 🙏🏻 Kevin you were lucky Dale didn’t smack you 😂
Dale's way or the highway I guess.
3 laps to go -#17 in line and you Won Daytona ! BEST WIN IVE SEEN 😉
That was the 2000 Winston 500 at Talledega.
Im pretty certain dale and richard had hand picked kevin to take over for him when dale retired
I think Harvick was going to the 3 if Dale did not die.
@@ethanweeter2732 yep,he was picked to replace him,the 500 just speeded up the process
I seriously doubt you offended the Intimidator
Dale Earnhardt senior taunted Mark Martin as a recovering alcoholic with drinking jokes.
You know NASCAR fans can't watch a race without being drunk.
Yes they can. Used to all time
I don't have to be drunk to watch a race, I chose to be drunk when I watch a race!
That's Not True 🖕🏻🖕🏻.
Actually, you're wrong
I hope he would bring Jimmie Johnson and talk about their own cover game Nascar Racing 2003 Season
Lol I’d have given him the faster car and just lied about what was in it then.. like no we are totally not driving the car that’s an entire second faster lol
A good crew chief knows how to sell a lie to his driver 😆
Shoulda wore a hans.
And a full-faced helmet, and had his seat belts mounted in the correct spots and fully tightened.
Only like 7 drivers in the 2001 Daytona 500 did. This assumption that he should've is absurd. Barley anyone did.
@@tamezzodiac2862 so they were all stupid. He literally would still be here.
@@ericfuller6326 Ok, blame nascar for not mandating it. Only like 250 hans devices were sold around the world since 1990 to 2001. It was not popular in any racing series. Blame motorsports for it, not the drivers.
Just get to the point Kevin
Kevin spent his whole career avoiding questions on Dale and minimizing everything around driving his car, often being outright rude. Now he's retired and needs to bump his podcast ratings we get all these Dale centered stories and video clips. Very classy.
Cope harder boy
The sport outgrew Dale Sr, that happens, know when to retire, he may still have been alive today
That's a dumb comment. First off, you could say that about any athlete who competes in a sport for 20+ years. His longevity had nothing to do with his passing moron. And he finished 2nd in the Championship the year before. And that wasn't this win and race for a Championship, calculate your stage points stuff.
"The sport outgrew Dale Sr." ???? What?
He finished second in points in the 2000 season. Not hardly.
He was still good, but he more than likely wouldn't have won anything outside of superspeedways
Kevin harvick sucks, nobody wants him on fox
You and you only would say that.
