    I have a Great Northern 7 chime (yes, 7) boiler tube whistle off an O-8 mikado. Talk about unique. Always wanted to hear it on steam but haven't got the chance yet.

      I've gotten a chance to blow that particular whistle on air a couple years ago, if you ever get her on steam I'd be very interested in seeing that

    I actually got to hear what one of these whistles sound like back in September 2019 at a tourist line in my home state, I can even put a link to a video of the whistle in action on the steam engine it was on.

    Chris, this has impressed me more than anything you've shared on your channel, and I already greatly admire the work you do. Brilliant engineering and problem solving, and a gorgeous sounding whistle!

    It is wonderful to see your superb restoration of the Mount Tamalpais Railway locomotive and your determined and so successful restoring of the train whistle. Shared with friends too in Italy, he has many years of railroad experience, they are very impressed.

    I have a question though, say someone bought a steam whistle from Ebay that just wants it refurbished (say there were dents or cracks) and wanted the whistle as a more static display/air compressed every once in a while. Would you guys fix it?

    • @up3368
      @up3368  3 года назад +1

      It depends on how much damage there is to the whistle. Dents are hard to remove sometimes.

    Where do they plan to run her?

      Nowhere; the restoration does not include the boiler.
