I would be interested in a couple of videos of the bell hand rung, for a moment, and another video with the bell air controlled. It would be great, since I have SP 4-8-8-2's on my HO Scale layout. Please make a couple of videos.
I have a very old 15 inch brass bell. It was used on an 1800s school. It has a ball at the top. No markings anywhere..Would you have any idea where t was made?
Wow what an amazing restoration I did not know a Southern Pacific cab Forward bell sounded that way
I wonder if with a few modifications, it can fit the 4449 or 4460 or if there was gonna be a new AC-9 being built it’ll fit that?
They had the same bell, so I’m guessing it wouldn’t be that different

Amazing!
Do you know what a bell like this would be worth? Or if a pattern could be made for it?

I never knew that bells could be operated via steam power and manual!

No.1 how did u get these and No.2 how did u get these
The southern pacific does kinda sound like that. But the original bell of the forward cab actually sounds like the big boy 4014 Union Pacific
Not even close
What’s the name of the bell?
How many PSI did you use? I have one that is similar but won't continuously ring.
they typically used ~120 to 130 psi. you might need to lubricate the piston inside also
@@faralarm I was able to take the cylinder apart and clean up the entire mechanism.
@@billrobertson2174 .....is this your bell? What a phenomenal job on the restoration
@@alcopower5710 Unfortunately, it is not. Mine is in very poor condition.
