Glad you like it. What would you pick between this convertible Acer Spin Chromebook and this convertible Chromebook from Lenovo - ruclips.net/video/nc6RMm7Z9JQ/видео.html ?
Very nice. Love getting comments like this. Hopefully my video can be a slight substitution until it arrives 😎 Do post back to give your thoughts on it and it you haven't already please do check out some more of the Chromebook content on the channel and consider a sub 👍
Thanks Bryan, glad it was useful but a shame you haven't got the higher capacity storage options available locally in SA. Are you particularly looking for a convertible? Would you consider a slightly smaller screen, if so.... ruclips.net/video/nc6RMm7Z9JQ/видео.html - might be one to look into?
I know nothing about laptops or computers but I’m looking to get one for college. I’m doing media & communication so I’ll need to use a lot of word documents etc and will need to download apps such as canvas and discord. Do you think this is a good choice or what about the 314 non touch pad? Thanks
Hi - to help with your points and choice of Chromebook - * Canva and Discord are both available from the Google Playstore to install in ChromeOS. * If you mean Microsoft Word specifically, here's an update on Microsoft 365 integration in ChromeOS: ruclips.net/video/L8jScBBY73A/видео.html If you're not tied to Microsoft there is of course Google Workspace or why not install Libre Office locally - ruclips.net/video/Mx20y1Kv_WI/видео.html * An Acer 314 (non-touch model) could also be a good consideration if you don't need the convertible or touch features of this Spin. I'd recommend either the latest generation and get one with the more powerful Intel Core i3-N305 (shown here: ruclips.net/video/9HFonlBjSAw/видео.html) or the generation prior with either the same Pentium Silver N6000 you seen in the Spin review you're watching here, or the Celeron N4500 - either way try and combine with 8GB RAM as I show in the model in this video: ruclips.net/video/o-ejh-mB0JQ/видео.html * You could also consider Chromebook Plus models, they'll meet a minimum hardware spec including 12th Gen Core i3 processors or above, 8GB RAM or better, 128GB storage of better, a FHD IPS display (no link to it being touch or not though) and a FHD webcam. They also have software benefits to take advantage of the hardware. Playlist of some models I've reviewed: ruclips.net/p/PLNSLoCmFMc8qm1a5XOh5p3JMh4S2qPm6U
The Pentium Silver N6000 will be great for that. So is the screen what they HD+ or do you mean it is FHD, but that's lower than what you're used to on your Mac?
Hi, glad it was useful. No worry, not possible to put Windows onto this that I'm aware of and for the 4GB RAM models like I have you wouldn't want to. I think you may want to check out the Acer Swift Windows laptops.
No, sorry. It wouldn't qualify with the Pentium Silver N6000 for starters, needs to be a minimum Core i3 12th gen or equivalent, plus 8GB RAM and other requirements. The HP 15a model I showed on the channel recently is a Chromebook Plus model, qualifying for the update: ruclips.net/video/DsbDyNz4JDo/видео.html
I would have liked to know what you can and can't install on it, any windows apps or only android apps, telegram? discord, or only browser type apps? what about privacy with Google back doors etc?
Hi, well I hope you found the review useful overall. Your app questions are more specific to ChromeOS in general than this Chromebook. On a Chromebook you have two main ways of installing programs: 1.) Via the Google Play Store with apps that are compatible for a Chromebook 2.) Linux programs using the Linux functionality in ChromeOS. You can see an example of how you would do this in my video on installing the Linux version of Minecraft on a Chromebook:ruclips.net/video/jAv_7uDaL-4/видео.html So getting to your specific app queries and if/how you'd install them in ChromeOS: * Windows apps - no * Android apps - yes, via the Play Store where compatible * Telegram - yes, from the Play Store * Discord - yes, from the Play Store With your privacy question, not quite sure how to answer, but I think if you use Google Chrome and Google services on your other devices there's not much of an issue with using a Chromebook to access them and it wouldn't really be any different in my mind. Hope this all helps, just let me know of any other queries and please check the channel out for more Chromebook and ChromeOS content.
Hi, this article may help you - support.google.com/chromebook/answer/12403345 Perhaps find a few cheaper printers in your region and check if they're on the list?
@@MergeDroid Thank you! I just realized Chromebooks are not compatible with just plugging in a printer. You have to connect through the internet/wifi. Sigh, I suppose that's that! Thanks for the help though.
@8691man yes, in general most modern WiFi printers should work. Some can be pretty cheap too, but look into the ink costs, that's where they get you! 💷 💷 💷
Hi, you could use any hard shell for a 14 inch laptop, something similar to this perhaps - amzn.to/4bw29ey (my affiliate link). Whereabouts are you based?
@gudrunmertens6344 ah OK, I was thinking of a carry case hard shell that you use like a bag to transport the Chromebook. You're after a case that fits to it, like a skin? I think that'd be quite challenging due to the convertible nature, but may exist.

Sounds nice with the 8GB. Do you have the Pentium Silver N6000 like I have in this video for the processor, or the Celeron N4500? I'll test installing COD Mobile on mine later and let you know if it loads correctly. With regards to Fortnite, my approach would be - ruclips.net/user/shortssvUgqbXZXIs
