Leo tried the Proto strat with switching to MK on Battlefield after taking a game. I respect the attempt but still great to see Leo continuing his streak of Major Top 8's with great wins and good losses.
Sparg0's adaptation to the rebels guard was nuts when you compare it to their previous set. Dude knew what to improve on after getting smacked in game 4 of their previous set. While the MK game felt troll to test Sparg0's lack of familiarity in the match up, there were probably better options. Also, trying to ProtoBanham it might not be the best play when Sparg0 is as focused in a runback situation.
Idom back in SFV did the same thing back at a Capcom Cup Grand finals and ended up winning the tourney. So it definitely can work in your favor Sometimes you want to try and disrupt your opponents rhythm; after all, Spargo is a master at adaptation. Unfortunately, Leo's plan backfired and his rhythm/momentum was the one that got disrupted.

Meta knight players and cloud players both agree that the matchup is even or winning for mk, likely due to his edgeguarding tools and clouds dookie recovery. But his mk is nowhere near as good as sparg0s cloud so yeah, that game was a throw
@jennyqin3298 i play meta knight also, the only time you get the chance to edge guard a cloud is if they're playing bad. A good cloud should never lose to meta knight
@@plantseason290 Sure, if cloud is playing perfect and spaces every move, mk wouldn't be able to get close and can't get him offstage. But you can't expect any cloud to not slip up at all for the entire game. Mk could likely kill cloud off of one offstage interaction
