    for me, it was the most typical kazakh wedding EVER, like literally every aspect of it. Even the separate tea room haha.
    1) the fat you ate was Құйрық-бауыр btw. It's the liver and fat of a sheep. Liver (бауыр) sounds like "sibling" in kazakh, and it symbolizes that two families are now together, and fat is a symbol of prosperity and money.
    2) the second party is also really callrd құдалық. So you were right.
    3) and bride familiy comes only after betashar, because it was typically done right after the bride comes to the groom's village (in the ancient times ofc). So bride is familiarized with the groom's village/family. And the second құдалық is when the bride's family comes after the bride after some time. After which the wedding is conducted. Nowadays, people still just keep this order.

      @Mipac13 2 года назад +19

      On no 2) the first part isn't "құдалық", but "құда түсу", which is done before the wedding and in essence is a proposal. The "құдалық" is done after the wedding and is a meeting of the two families, where they get to know each other

However, at the same time they were having a fun 🤩 Great explanation from your side 😊

I can totally understand your enthusiasm about the wedding, cause every time I’m abroad I also want to attend this cultural event, but unfortunately I couldn’t still. I guess one of the reasons is that in foreign countries people tend to get married comparably late, over their 30s.

Traditionally all this parties made separately from each other. However nowadays people are doing so, for minimizing expenses on parties. It’s Ok.

    In my region on the day of the main wedding but before the event itself, bride and groom and their families and close friends all go to the mosque, where they get married by Islam traditions. Then the family leaves, but the friends stay and they go to all the famous and beautiful sights of the city to take photos. They go by cars or limousine cars which are decorated, and they make long loud signals all the way on the road, so that people know those people are getting married. They look out of the windows and wave, and people who sometimes wave back to them, make noises or just say "Congratulations!" loudly.
    Other parts are almost the same as you told

    Actually Syrǵa Salu is not the part of Qyz Uzatu, it is something different, it is happens before the Qyz Uzatu, but nowadays, it is comfortable to do it together. Also about white carpet, it means like, let everything be good in new family, like actually family of wife gives their girl to the husbands family, and husbands family should be with her like with the it own girl.
    Also about signing for official marriage. Usually kazakhs do it in another time, becouse it doesn't matter. But before the wedding party, young family goes to the mosque to be married by religious rules, it is like part of the wedding party also.

    but it's a requirment, i guess, you can only avoid it if you're not a relative or close friend, if you're a child or if there are a lot of guests
    so in a sense, if you were required to give a speech, means you are important person to this wedding c:
    you also attended both uzatu and toy! i never got to go to both weddings (it's ok to go to only one of those depending on what side do you belong to, bride or groom, if you're not super close, so one wedding was always more than enough for me thank you very much 😅😅😅)
