Distrust of government is more about people stressing about Nursultan Nazarbaev. There are a lot of 45+ people that really feel fooled by Nursultan Nazarbaev. In 1990th he said that everything is gonna be great and everyone would have a good life if the citizens would work a lot. And now a lot of age 45+ are really angry about that. And this idea is supported by young people thinking in more american/european way. The young people thinks that Kazakhstan doesn't give them enough freedom. And yes, there are a lot of idiots driven by their bad ugres and want to destroy the country without understanding the consequences. But actually, Kazakhstan is doing really good by the economic situation comparing other post-USSR countries
The bit where you talked about stores not always having things in on a daily basis made me laugh - here in the UK we used to be much like the USA, stores permanently stocked - but right now, because of a mix of Covid-19, Brexit and rising fuel (gas) prices, we have a lot of supply difficulties, so we're experiencing the same thing! Also now I've watched the first video, I see you have changed your hair to the wavy style of the locals as you talk about in this one! :D It looks lovely, you're not a 'hot human mess' at all.

In my opinion, Kazakhs ARE tourist-friendly, but the thing is that some of them can't speak English. Btw, thanks for that video, I am from KZ and I agree with you
I visited Kazakhstan last year for two weeks in summer and I was immediately impressed by the friendly 'feel' of the people. They are a bit shy (which I fully agree with, being from a reserved scandinavian country it is also how we act) but once you get passed that they are incredibly nice. I felt very at home and comfortable in Kazakhstan and will definitely return.
Tourists should just prepare before travelling and find somebody through Facebook or Instagram. Kazakh people never refuse to help you or give the advice!
Kazakhstan is my birth country. Now I am British but my best dreams are about the nature and people of that land. Learning Kazakh language is easy by the way. I did speak it although it's not my native language back in 1980s. Best luck in discovering the wonders of Kazakh land! and hey, you should try kumis
Astana is presently home to the best singer in the world, Dimash Kudaibergen. I am a big fan of his. I’m curious to know what brought you to Kazakhstan?
Ha ha. I think lots of nations don't trust their governments too much. As for the seasonal fruits and vegetables, I'm thinking that it might be because they keep them fresh and unprocessed, they don't force them to grow when they're not supposed to do it naturally. I don't know, just a guess, as you also mentioned once that some lady at the marketplace was trying to give you not so perfect apples, which are the real, healthy ones. And from my perspective, if that's the case, it's great.
It's a bit more complex than that. Agriculture in Kazakhstan is a weird beast. First, it doesn't bother with preserving fresh produce even when it can be preserved (and I mean keeping it fresh, not pickling and the like), so the time window for buying local fresh produce is roughly the same as when it grows. Which, yeah, means seasonal, but doesn't necessarily mean "natural". Harmful fertilisers are a real problem here, especially when it comes to watermelons. Secondly, greenhouses and such are far more expensive than they should logically be, so even though you _can_ buy local tomatoes in the middle of winter, they would be literally more expensive than imported oranges and bananas, and very likely even more expensive than _imported greenhouse_ tomatoes. Logic? Who's she?
Rocky hello 👋🏽 Love you soooo much! I guess you are the only foreign person who makes video about Kazakhstan (at least you are the only one who I watch😅) So sorry to hear that there wasn’t a Kazakh friend speaking English who could introduce our nature to you🥲 I would do that in Almaty for you:) Anyway, please keep making videos abt KZ in English 🥳 and stay awesome as You are!
You never know everything if you wasn't born in Kazakhstan. I live in USA more then 12 years now. And I can tell more you get older more you know how amazing our country Kazakhstan. Only culture makes you so happy
Kazakhstan, a Central Asian country and former Soviet republic, extends from the Caspian Sea in the west to the Altai Mountains at its eastern border with China and Russia. Its largest metropolis, Almaty, is a long-standing trading hub whose landmarks include Ascension Cathedral, a tsarist-era Russian Orthodox church, and the Central State Museum of Kazakhstan, displaying thousands of Kazakh artifacts.
I really enjoyed your observations and compared them to some of mine while in Kazakhstan. I sort of have an adopted family in Zhitikara which is in the more north western part of the country. I first met my Kazakhstani granddaughter when she was a foreign exchange student here in the U. S. with my son. I landed in Astana where Lera came to meet me and we took the train back to her part of the country. Astana is a beautiful city and we spent much of the day walking around and taking pictures of the beautiful architecture of many of the buildings. Thank goodness for an English speaker to help me out or without her help, I'd never gotten to my destination.
@Ер Кадырбек I strongly disagree. This is also a rather sexist position. Men don't really raise any bars, it's just women who really like experimenting and finding new ways to look more beautiful. Men don't even notice any differences and are absolutely clueless of what women do with their appearance. Also, the tradition that you described isn't really present anymore, it is ancient and isn't very common. Women cut their hair whenever they want, so that was a bit of a misleading statement. I am from KZ too, btw.

Eva Wettergren, happy for you ;) furthermore, a lot of Kazakhs agree that our nation is very guest-friendly
Tourists should just prepare before travelling and find somebody through Facebook or Instagram. Kazakh people never refuse to help you or give the advice!
Eva, we are not bit shy - we just don't trust everyone. At first we watch who stands in front of us. Enemy or friend. Then...
@@fffkhh2447 Aha. That is a good approach. I guess I projected a bit, being of the shy variety myself.

Ah! I was looking for another Dear! 😂
Hello Dears 🤩🦢❤️✨
I also think the fruits are seasonal because they are grown in the region. It makes sense.
@@rockyjourneys you are right, as for me to choose an apple with an applegrub mark means it is a healthy fruit. 🙋♀️
Logic? Who's she?
Not typical observations, but everything You’ve mentioned is true and sensitive. Great job 👍 I’ve signed up to your channel ✊👏
Rocky hello 👋🏽 Love you soooo much! I guess you are the only foreign person who makes video about Kazakhstan (at least you are the only one who I watch😅)

“Government distrust”
Yup, sounds about right
Kazakhstan, a Central Asian country and former Soviet republic, extends from the Caspian Sea in the west to the Altai Mountains at its eastern border with China and Russia.
