I saw your husband’s tshirt in your pumpkin everything video and it said “pray”! Love it, that’s what you do when your son scares you. You give all your cares to Him because He cares for you!❤
I switched to a regular zesty Italian dressing and don’t use the whole bottle and at the end I just add a little milk to thin it! I agree it’s a bit much th original way
I can so relate to your story about your son going caving. The hardest part of parenting teens is letting go and trusting that you’ve taught them well enough for them to make (mostly) the right choices. But it really does give them the confidence to experience life. Yesterday one of our sons who is 22 flew on a tiny plane to a remote island where he will be working for the next three weeks. The plane hit bad weather, had to make an emergency landing at an Air Force base on a different island and then he flew back to a big city on the mainland to spend the night in a hotel. My mama heart wanted to swoop in and rescue him but a few hours later, he sent videos of his fancy hotel room (paid for by the company) and the DUCK he ordered from a restaurant because that was being paid for too! 😂
It's always crockpot season at our house ;) My favorite is still a chuck roast. Brown it on the grill and pop it in the pot over a layer of potatoes, carrots, and onions. Never enough onions.
Meals look great - when making decisions about my teenagers - I always think to myself that when I was their age my parents didn’t have any way of contacting me or knowing where I really was and I managed to survive! They trusted me to be responsible and as a result I have to trust my kids too. It saves a whole lot of arguments and anxiety about them 😊
Thanks for the mom talk about teenagers, that definitely spoke to my soul. I thought there was something wrong with me worrying about my teenagers. I get so worried about my 19 year old daughter who lives in the dorms. I know I have to give her space but at the same time I get so worried if I don't hear from her for a day😫
I like seeing your budget grocery challenges. I would love to see one (or some) with a minimum protein requirement! 15 percent calories from protein for a basic balanced meal, or 20 percent to please the bodybuilders. If you wanted, you could also tack on a bonus challenge of making sure that at least one meal a day contains a good amount of veggies. (Like this comment if you want Christine to see this suggestion.)
I love watching your recipes & your teenage parenting segments are golden! I have 2 sons (15 & 13) & knowing I'm not alone in these struggles is comforting.
So far the hardest stage of parenting for me has been the ages of 18-24. No one tells you how hard that phase is. You are trying to let them make their own decisions while also trying to make sure they don’t make terrible decisions. It is hard!!!
It was at this stage, when I started earning a bit of money, that my mom started up a Roth IRA for me. I think Christine would probably agree that this is a key for securing your child's financial future.
@@SoloRenegade -Wow. I am absolutely not a controlling parent. Far from it. I just think as parents , no one talks about that stage. You have to let your kids make their own decisions, and then let them learn from their mistakes. They think they know everything, but really they know nothing.
Preach! Agree 100% that early adulthood is the most difficult stage. Small people small problems small consequences. Big people big problems big consequences. And not much you can do but give guidance when asked and pray.
Love slow cooker meals. I made this week 3 lbs of boneless 4:34 skinless chicken thighs with 1 large onion 4-5 garlic cloves, add salt & pepper, basil, thyme & rosemary. Add 1 bottle of Sugerfree Primal Kitchen BBQ, add about 1/4 cup of vinegar red or white. Cook 2.5 hours at high. Shred and add back in sauce. I add 1/4 if coconut suger because my son prefers.
I love my crockpot. I loaded it one day, a couple hours later wondering why I wasn't smelling yummy goodness yet, only to find out that I didn't plug it in. Ugh, I took the liner put it in the fridge and ordered pizza. I put the crockpot meal back in the next day and plugged it in
I got a little teary with nostalgia for our teens hearing the cave story, Christine! You're so right and are an excellent parent. Your kids are blessed.
Absolutely agree. My teens are closer in age to your youngest 2, so I haven't gotten to the turning 18 part yet, but so far parenting teens is the best!
No Christine ! We are sitting on the back porch drinking our coffee and it’s cool 72 degrees at 840 am ! No coats ! Not yet ! Glenda in Mesa ( where you SHOULD live )
Hi, Christine 👋👋 long time viewer, first time commenting. Chicken is the only protein I eat, so I am 💯 percent trying all of these recipes. ❤ Thanks for the quirky and uplifting attitude!!
The pepper trick, I was given that trick back in the 70s by my mother. The olive garden recipe is no go us🤮. I've got a better on two pound of chicken breast, can if corn drained, har of favorite salsa, one can of black beans drained and rest and chopped onion and bell pepper. Cook on low for 8 hours ,serve with avocados , green onions and cheese makes great burritos and tacos. 😊😋
Good parenting advice. I don’t know what people did before Location Services were available on our phones lol Our whole family is connected and we can see where everyone is. Gives a mom peace of mind 😬
I have never tried chicken wings in the slow cooker, but i will deffinitely do that! The idea with broiler / airfryer is genius. I will try asap! Thank you
You have so much more restraint than I do when it comes to raising teenagers and giving them freedom... but it shows that you're doing a good job because he did call you because he knew you were probably worried, so congratulations!!🎉🎉
That sounds like my sister in law! She would invite us for supper and as we were eating she would say, I'm glad You came for supper, I cleaned out my refrigerator and was going to Throw It out anyway.
I love a slow cooker, the meals look great. but let's talk about coats.😂 that columbia jacket looks awesome. that's a good brand and worth the investment. I bought the bugaboo parka in black(either on backcountry website or moosejaw, can't remember). it was originally $229, I paid $100. that was in 2010. that coat is 14 years old and the lightest, warmest coat I've ever owned. it has held up. you should do more fashion videos because I know you invest in quality.
I love the slow cooker, even if I'm home all day while it's cooking. The aroma and anticipation are awesome! But I have to ask, what happened to "throw-and-go" in place of "dump-and-go?"
We just had an Amazon Fresh store open near us and they had 2lbs of chicken breast on sale for $2 each! We bought a bunch so these recipes are going to come in handy!
Yes! Parenting teens who are almost 18, or 18 is the best, and hardest job! It's a time when we moms get to see our children flourish, and it is rewarding, yet terrifying! (Oh, and I also restart Gilmore Girls every fall too, it's tradition!)😊
Sweet… i was wondering what to do with that chicken i had in the fridge. Now i got dinner cooking in the crock pot while i take my son to a doctor appointment. Also shoutout shoshone ice caves. ✌️
Time will help re: the mommy thing we do. It's taken a few years to not say things like, "do you have a jacket, it's cold out there", or "umbrella"? (daughter always gave me The Look) Daughter is on her own and 29 now, but still find myself with the occasional "did what i said sound like i was parenting her? did she take it that way?" 😁 The scariest for me was her making her own health decisions 3 yrs ago, and there was no discussion. It haunts me. But it's her life, her story, her journey. Gulp. Big life lesson for me (and for hubby). We do what we can, it's their own life story. 🤷♀

I’ve tried that Olive Garden chicken recipe. I found it very sour. I would suggest reducing the amount of salad dressing, and substituting broth.
Yes! That’s what I do too!
I switched to a regular zesty Italian dressing and don’t use the whole bottle and at the end I just add a little milk to thin it! I agree it’s a bit much th original way
Crocktober!!!!
Underrated comment 👏🏻 😂
Ohhhh I'm here for here
😂 Love It!🧡

My son is 52nd my daughter is 45. Never stop worrying about them no matter the age.
My kids are age 52 and 45. And as a mother you always worry about them.

Beans are still cheaper in my area. So do you have any crockpot bean recipes? Vegetarian would be super nice! 😊
Try a taco soup, its not all beans but it is mostly beans or you can make it mostly beans at least lol.
That first recipe would probably work well with a beans and rice combo.
Thanks for the mom talk about teenagers, that definitely spoke to my soul. I thought there was something wrong with me worrying about my teenagers. Hi. My son is age 52 and my daughter is 45. You never stop worrying about them.
Thanks for always being funny and positive and just so much fun, Christine!! I appreciate your videos and love the recipes!
The Ranch chicken also works well with thick porkchops. I double the sauce for more gravy, and serve with skin on mashed potatoes.
Ohhhhh yummmm

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one without a head broad. 😅
I always smile when people talk about experation dates. I just made chili with my mom's stewed tomatoes from 2007 and her tomatoe sauce from 2013.
And how long were you stuck to your toilet for? 😅
@kellynross5337 not at all.
@kellynross5337 not at all. I just used three jars of 2010 tomatoe sauce for Goulash last week. My kid has been going crazy on her 2003 peach jam.
Lucky I got a sensitive stomach. I ate a crustable pb&j sandwich that was only a few months old and I threw up.
@uwuiseeyouuwu2819 I am so sorry to hear that. Throwing up is no fun.
I want to thank you. You have definitely helped me save money on my grocery shopping.
It's been in the 30s for over a month in my neck of the woods....the joys of Alaska living....
I love watching your recipes & your teenage parenting segments are golden! I have 2 sons (15 & 13) & knowing I'm not alone in these struggles is comforting.
Wings in the crockpot and then broiler BRILLIANT!! 😲

18-24?! you're still parenting and controlling them?!?! you've failed as a parent if you're still making decisions for them by then
@@SoloRenegade I didn't hear "controlling". ease up.
@@SoloRenegade -Wow. I am absolutely not a controlling parent. Far from it. I just think as parents , no one talks about that stage. You have to let your kids make their own decisions, and then let them learn from their mistakes. They think they know everything, but really they know nothing.

I made the cream of chicken on for my family today. They all loved it.
These all look good. I use my crockpot year round, so new recipes are a go
I use mine in the summer that way the oven doesn’t heat the house 😊
Yes indeed! I have always used mine year round.
I love my crockpot. I loaded it one day, a couple hours later wondering why I wasn't smelling yummy goodness yet, only to find out that I didn't plug it in. Ugh, I took the liner put it in the fridge and ordered pizza. I put the crockpot meal back in the next day and plugged it in
I love crockpot dinners. Thank you! ❤
These sound great, thanks!
FYI….whenever any RUclipsr says that more info is in the comments, I always replace it with “the doobilly doop below”. 😂😂
I got a little teary with nostalgia for our teens hearing the cave story, Christine! You're so right and are an excellent parent. Your kids are blessed.
Yes. Why do we as moms have this issue of thinking the ABSOLUTE worst. Ugh! Your doing great!!!
Absolutely agree. My teens are closer in age to your youngest 2, so I haven't gotten to the turning 18 part yet, but so far parenting teens is the best!
These look delish! Also I love your extra video bits about parenting teenagers! It’s always so fun and encouraging 🥰
Hi, please get a pepper mill. The pepper tastes so much better and different to the preground stuff! Greetings from Germany 😊🙃😊
I love watching...and I love knowing I'm not the only one afraid of expired food!! 😊
I forgot how much I loved your videos! Thank you
No Christine ! We are sitting on the back porch drinking our coffee and it’s cool 72 degrees at 840 am ! No coats ! Not yet ! Glenda in Mesa ( where you SHOULD live )
Omg on the pepper trick!!! Wow 😮 🤯
Haha! Our moms are similar! I love to help mine too and it's great! Thanks Mom ❤️
What is this 30 deg you speak of?! I’m in the Phoenix area and we finally are having highs in the 95’s w lows in the high 60’s. 🥵🔥
Good morning Christine! I love crock pot meals!! Cheers from BC Canada!
Hey fellow bc Canadian
Hi, Christine 👋👋 long time viewer, first time commenting. Chicken is the only protein I eat, so I am 💯 percent trying all of these recipes. ❤ Thanks for the quirky and uplifting attitude!!
I'm watching this sitting at my son's soccer practice in shorts and t-shirt here in Nevada.
Omg I've had a Colombia omni heat jacket for almost 20yrs. My first one lasted me almost 10yrs.❤❤❤❤
Omg i never thought to do wings like this but i am so trying it this week!
perfect timing!

Thank you for the recipes.
Thank you for sharing the recipes. It's also our first cooler day in Austin 62-75.
Good parenting advice.

I agree about the Gilmore Girls, there's just something about watching it in the fall, the fall just brings it to mind.
Amazing thank you so much!! 🩷
You and your husband are so adorable and silly, I didn't even FF past the Helix ad!
Nice easy recipes.! I look forward to trying these. I love simple.!!

Yes, the Columbia costs with that inner lining are the bomb! I got it from the Columbia outlet as well in South Carolina. Best purchase ever
I have the same bowls! Love these super easy recipes, thanks so much for sharing :)
You have so much more restraint than I do when it comes to raising teenagers and giving them freedom... but it shows that you're doing a good job because he did call you because he knew you were probably worried, so congratulations!!🎉🎉
Yes! The Omni coats are amazing
Thank you for the delicious looking recipes!!
I have those same salt and pepper shakers so I’m going to try that little trick.
Very relatable, thanks.
Thanks for the recipe’s..I will be cutting them in half as there are only 2 of us and a small Crockpot.
That sounds like my sister in law! She would invite us for supper and as we were eating she would say, I'm glad You came for supper, I cleaned out my refrigerator and was going to Throw It out anyway.

YOU ARE SOO WONDERFUL!!❤️👵🏻
Try the Mississippi Pot Roast in the crockpot, it's amazing!!!
I'm going to do it with tofu as well
Great idea
I love the slow cooker, even if I'm home all day while it's cooking. The aroma and anticipation are awesome! But I have to ask, what happened to "throw-and-go" in place of "dump-and-go?"
Well done n thanks 😊
I get it completely and you are correct about teenagers too! Although I will add, I loved each age.💕
We just had an Amazon Fresh store open near us and they had 2lbs of chicken breast on sale for $2 each! We bought a bunch so these recipes are going to come in handy!
Gilmore Girls great choice 🎉

❤love that you cook like me….whatever you have on hand….yeah that looks good…💥💥💥
Try cream of chicken soup with Italian herbs
I love all the parenting updates 💛 I have 3 boys, age 5 and under. The teenage years simultaneously excite and terrify me 😂
Christine! I too go to stars hollow every fall as soon as the temps drop and visit my friends!
I did not know about that pepper trick - GASP!
Rogue and Speedy for president!!!
Thank you for the mom talk at the end. My future...
Love these recipes! Thank you! Gave me some inspiration!🤍from North Idaho! It’s going to be 28F tonight 🩵🌷

Yummy bet your kitchen smells good.!

Also shoutout shoshone ice caves. ✌️
35 degrees this morning, here in North west Indiana, just south of Lake Michigan. BURRR
I'm in SW TN and we had frost overnight
Ps / thanks for your easy recipes. Only 2 of us at home now and we like to hike and be gone so these are great. A cold day for us in Alabama is 65😁
Love great recipes
I love Columbia jackets. I bought mine on sale. Dishes look yummy

There is a good dup for Olive Garden dressing at Aldi.
It’s cold in Wisconsin too. We had a killing frost today. I broke out my winter coat too.
I'm in MN Yes- low 30's this am. BRRR. But I love winter so yay!
I'm in southern tip of TN. We had frost this AM....
yum
