Elephant top is done! I added an extra 5" border. I'm waiting for my backing to come in. I ordered 4 yards online. The backing is a cute mix of tossed elephants! Love it! I use the hangit dangit for hanging small quilts. I like the product.
I've got 5 of your O My Stars quilts - the ones with 7 stars each, quilted -- they all need binding. I'm also planning (and have made 2) Library Pillows to give my 5 grandkids for Easter. So I have 3 of them to do. I've also got a shamrock wallhanging ready for sandwiching, quilting and binding that I started LAST February -- Got my fingers crossed that all of these get done.
Caught the reply - already UFO busting (altho I did create two new UFOs over the weekend LOL). My Ellies and Ed pillows were done a few weeks ago, and already gifted. Excited for the shamrock muffin quilt!
Just finished a project yesterday! All washed and labeled. Had a snow day; made a backing. My UFO is waiting for me to get back in a shop that has Kaffe prints; need four more Kaffe fqs to finish blocks. I've tried laying out the blocks, but I definitely need 4 more blocks.
Thank you for this UFO challenge, I haven't been motivated to finish any of my several quilt tops! Have two totally finished now. Getting backing and batting ready for a couple more. I have set a schedule of mornings load and quilt, next day do binding. In the afternoon work on piecing or what ever might come up(yard work, house work). but mostly piecing!
I’m coming onboard a couple of days late because of an ice storm in Portland, OR that knocked out power for 2 days, so I missed this UFO/WIP intro. I love the progress paper and will download it to help me track my progress. I have so, so many projects to choose from, that will be the biggest challenge. I truly appreciate the way you explained your thinking process for approaching this “event❣️” And I thank you for your generous sharing.
OMG 😃 the beautiful quilt you shared my cousin Tara made, she is currently without power and internet. She is so disappointed she missed it live but thrilled you shared her work! Thank you Pat for sharing and Tara says Thanks too! ❤️
This was so helpful. I am so unorganized no matter how hard I try I can't seem to find a system that works. Partly because I have so many things in my head I get overwhelmed. I do always find time for your show. So my priorities are right.
Counted my ufos in January. 13 made the list. Finished 2 and heart quilt is in coronet to quilt. My goal is to finish 2 per month. So far so good!!! Might have to work a little harder the next 14 days. Th asks for the inspiration Pat!
THANK YOU for the UFO advice. I am streaming all of your old videos as well as your current ones. My first introduction to appliqué many years ago was your Folksy Favorites book. Now appliqué is one of my guilty pleasures. I have just recently found you on RUclips. So I have some catching up to do ❤️
If you dont write it down it is a fantasy. I have made rhe muffin quilt. I am going to start with the oldest quilt I havent finished. It is a twin. Biggest quilt ever for me. That may be all I can do.
My daily motto: I have a plan. It might not be a GOOD plan, or even a workable plan, but I always have a plan. Seems to be ingrained in my brain makeup.
I have projects I purchased as kits or made my own "Kit" out of my fabrics. They are all stored in a closet with pretty ribbons holding them together of see thru bags. I call these my "Ladies in Waiting". Of course I still have Whips. I loved the idea of tackling the biggest projects to finish first and working your way down so it is less intimidating as you go.
A bit ashamed to admit that my main UFO is the 2018 Pat Sloan "In the Summertime". I have four blocks to go and it is top of my list. Three other UFO's as well, so thank you for this February challenge to get those done. Without power here in Texas so working on my handwork: cutting for blocks, hexi's and cross stitch for the immediate future.
Love the shamrocks, i dont use a lot if green so will have to go searching through my scrap pile, i haven't yet sorted mine into colors but thats on my list to do.
Elephant Quilt Status: just need to pick up some batting and it's ready to quilt. Shamrocks: Ran across last years mug rugs and I forgot that i didn't get the binding on them. So they will fall into my ufo pile to do at the end of my ufo pile this month, and yes, I have lots of ufo's, to tackle. : )
I'll do that challenge.. hope to finish my Hawaiian.. maybe my snowflake. Keep working on my POTC ... things have kinda been put aside.. since my gson's death.
I’m going to do the ufo challenge! I’ve been watching your videos for a couple months and I’m ready to jump in and sew along! I have 4 UFOs to finish!!
I spent the entire day going through projects in progress, tops and basted quilt sandwiches which led into reorganizing my sewing room. It will take me a few days to get everything figured out but I have my stack of unfinished projects ready
I was following someone's concerns about the elephant pattern and it kept me from ordering. She kept saying she had to draw it out?? Golly I don't think that's how it's suppose to go is it?
Not sure what draw it out means. The diagram really helps to placement. It shows all the sizes so you don't get pieces backwards. It really was quite easy.
I have well over a two dozen UFOs or more. Will try to get some done. Trying to finish dog jackets. Cold on those Magdalen Islands for my cousins two little dogs. They are in the middle of the Gulf of St Lawrence.
@@janeibee582 First of all, I do not have 42 UFOs! And, it might take me longer than a year to do all of them (I haven't counted.) Right now I have three pulled out to work on and I've completed two since the first of the year, so feeling good regarding January and February.) but at least I'm going forward! I suggest you try Pat's plan and do what you can! Good luck!
Just a question about purchases from the FQS from your links. I want to purchase Jolly Bar Book 3, if I also purchase the first 2 books, will you also get credit for that?
I received my Elephant pattern a couple of weeks ago but I find the directions confusing. Reference is made to the page numbers but the pages do not have numbers. The pattern has a front and back but the inside is on a page/sheet set up. Like I said confusing so I have not started cutting out the elephants.
I downloaded my pattern. Mine has no reference to page numbers. At first the cutting instructions were confusing. I know that I used yardage and cut one strip from each color I was using. I think the strip was 5 or 5.5 inches by wof. (Whatever the measurement of the largest square on the body was). When you make these cuts it is for 2 elephants, so 2 elephants will be made from the same color. I then just went down and cut the trunk size, the legs, etc. from each color strip. It helped me to identify on the instructions what was a leg piece or what was the head piece. Good luck.

I am working to finish my 2 UFO's and start a baby quilt for my nephew's new granddaughter.
I have hung my quilts using a hanging set up from Ikea. Called Dignitet. Works great!
Love your scarf!
You are amazing, inspiring, and fun. God bless you.❤️
love your ideas
❤❤❤
Finished making my 6 "Edgar" elephant squares. ( baby quilt for a boy) . now to sashing, borders and quilting.
I was think a magnet bar might work for hanging quilts

That’s me! Not a lot of time but I manage to find maybe 30 minutes a day to work on my sewing and quilting projects.
I use a hang it dang it , and I can buy them on Amazon
I'm going to try to join you in trying to get some UFO's or WIP's completed.
The Shamrock block is adorable!

Yes somehow we have to work in yard and house work. Not nearly as much fun, but necessary. Lol 😂
I've begun machine quilting my elephants but I'd like quilting suggestions, please!!!
I'm organized and ready to tackle some of my UFO's

I think I can reasonably complete 3, and I love the idea to do it together; it makes it more fun! 🙂

I have several UFOs that I plan to work on, but what do you call unstarted objects? I have a lot of those.
Just now put my last border on the elephant top. Now it’s an official flimsy!
Joining you with 7 projects, all need binding and hours of hand stitching but intending on getting them done!

Pat what category do you put fabrics pulled for a project never started.
Does anyone know what size Pat cute her binding when she sews it on by machine to the front? She mentioned it was a single binding. Thank you!
