  • A little snapshot of the carnivorous plants around the beautiful towns of Malmesbury and Darling in South Africa, stopping to look at any sticky or interesting plant along the way. In this short tour you will see see specimens of Drosera cistiflora, the poppy flowered sundew, that carries the biggest flower of any sundew globally.

    wow awesome they all seem to be winter grower very similar conditions to what most of the sundews grow like here in Australia

    how would you describe the soil composition? 3 parts sand to 1 part peat?

      @@ConstantinBoca it's almost entirely sand and maybe a tiny organic part. No peat really outside of mountain bogs

    great to see these sundews in nature. I have a cistiflora but it never flowered in my setup,so nice to see how it looks like.
