  • This Mary Lou Tin Plate toy washing machine was the childhood toy of one of my subscriber's Elaine, who contacted me to restore her favorite toy from many years ago. She sent it to me and didn't want it back but she just wanted a photo of the restored toy so I thought I would do a video on the restoration. I have restored another one of these on my channel but this one had a broken part I had to re make with some magic. Enjoy.

    I was watching anxiously to the end, it broke my heart to see you remove the original paint... But, you put all the decorations back on! Such a relief to see something so important to someone once come back to factory new. Great job. 😊

    Things were so much nicer back then, OK there is now a typecasting going on where stuff is aimed at "1950'ising" female children but this sort of gem actually worked and kids could wash their dolls clothes or the action man clothes and for the cost of some batteries and washing powder taught kids how to use the real thing too.

    There is actually something you can do about those cracks, provided it's either plastic or acrylic. You can drip superglue (cyanoacrylate) into the cracks, and it will help disguise them. Won't really fix them, but they're less noticeable that way.

    • @RetroHax
      @RetroHax  4 года назад
