    I like how you welded the axles back together instead of damaging the wheels. I'll have to remember that one. Also I like the classic red and black color combo. Well done!

    I could see that some parts of that, weren't the easiest to disassemble and/or reassemble, either!!

      As I said, that was some GREAT JOB!!!
      Just stumbled on to yours, & other people's "Restoration and/or Repair" videos, only recently, and I'm VERY MUCH enjoying them!!
      I'm getting ready to move soon, from Washington to Texas, and after watching these videos, it's given me ideas of how to make a bit of much needed, "side money," once I get there!!!

    Your powder coating oven was totally worth building. I absolutely love the powder coat chrome. It makes parts look so fresh and clean!

    Amazing video Martin. It’s makes a grown man cry to see a historical piece like this steam engine toy been lift to rust away. Now it has been restored back to its former glory it will live on thanks to a hero like you Martin

    That looks beautiful, I often wonder when people restore something maybe someone who is dead who built it can see the pride and time and the fact someone else can appreciate and enjoy it, can't explain it just a feeling I have, I know I would love it if someone in the future enjoyed something I built or had the pride to look after and appreciate an item

    It would have been wonderful if all of these old toys had stayed in good condition, but its great to know that there are people like you who can restore them to their original condition.

    It looks it's brand new. That was also pretty resourceful using a plastic lid as a new piece for the front. I never would have thought of that.

    Using a rubber mallet as a dolly, ingenious!
    I am enjoying the powder coating, comes out great every time.

    This takes me back at least 50 years I had a version of this train in the 60s and loved it wouldnt be surprised if may late father kept it somewhere I will have a look next time I visit.

    Amazing job. I had one years ago. Brought back great memories. If I remember right it had a bell that hung from the bracket on the front of the cab. Looked better than new.

    I have to admit Martin, I would have never tried to refurbish that thing. And I really like refurbishing old things like new again myself. But you made it look presentable again. Bravo sir, Bravo!
    Powder coating really does make such things look amazing.

    The bracket on the front of the drivers cab, I'm sure that was for a bell.

    Tri-Ang certainly made some brilliant toys. Three I had as a kid, in the mid 1960's were a Ford Thames Trader petrol tanker, a Jones mobile crane - which worked in the correct manner, and, my favourite, the AEC Routemaster bus. I played with it all the time, and in winter, when it snowed, I'd turn it upside down and sledge down the garden path on it. My kid brother 'inherited' it, and he played with it, until it literally fell to bits from being run about, and with kids riding on it, ringing it's bell. Brilliant. Really, they don't make 'em like that any more.

    When you first started taking the train apart I actually sat there and didn't move til the end....In the end I had to readjust my jaw it was kinda opened all that time.....it was in awe...Great job..gotta go now going to watch your next video....

    OMG Martin. You do such marvelous work. Here's an idea for you, maybe in one of your Matchbox restoration's, if you've got one that's beyond it, maybe you could just powder coat it chrome. That would look really awesome. I think all your powder coating investment was probably the best thing you could have done. As we say here in the states, you are the man.
