Vintage Oil Can Conversion Into Lamp For Man Cave

- This old oil can deserved a new lease of life. I came up with a great way to display it with pouring oil and a vintage bulb. I've not seen this pouring oil done before on any conversion but I love the effect. I hope you do too.

I was scratching my head when you were shaping and hot gluing the coat hanger, then you hit it with the glossy black paint and I said yes that's perfect! Turned out extremely well, love the color and the look of it, definitely worthy of a man cave!

The best part about this restoration Martin was the strip down, you only had to take the cap off compared to your normal 500 various bits and pieces 😂 lovely job again 👍👍

I know everyone else is raving about the "oil" pouring out of the spout, but frankly I just can't get past the fact that it defies gravity. If the can was on it's side or something, fine. But it just looks unnatural to me the way it is. Also, only crude oil or USED motor oil is black. Fresh motor oil is golden in color, and fairly clear, not opaque.
But the idea of using hot glue to mimic pouring oil was inspired. I would love to see you do something like that with an old water spigot, or well pump.
A bit pedantic but I agree it would look better if the can was tipped at an angle on a stand. Still nice unique novelty though
@@TheLoxxxton I do rather have that tendency I must admit. I think it's probably a function of both my OCD, and my penchant for obscure trivia. Inaccuracies tend to niggle at me.
