    Nice video guys, I just bought myself a M21 to swap out my th350. So its nice to see all the parts I'll need to swap the Muncie into my 68 Camaro. Thanks for the video, keep up the good work!

    one trick I use to install the trans easier is take 2 aprox 6 inch bolts same size as trans to bell housing cut off hex head and install in bell one top one bottom diagonally they become guide pins .

    it's easy .i did it to a 69 camaro when i was 17 years old. that is a 4spd car already . Automatic cars you have to cut a hole in the floor pan for the shifter

    I know the power handling from engine to trans will be wrong but can I put an 83 Firebird 5 speed in a 69 camaro ? The camaro has a 327 and the Firebird is a 5.0 . Thanks guys a great video !

      Should bolt up ok. We always check the top of the bell housing as some Pontiac transmissions don’t follow the Chevrolet small block shape at the top of the bell housing near the distributor. But that transmission isn’t super stout.

    How about keeping your car numbers matching? More value.

    Great video thanks for sharing! Do you know if this would be relevant for a second gen Camaro, specifically a 75? Thanks.

      Thanks for the question. For the most part yes. The parts are not interchangeable of course but the theory is and everything should be pretty close.

    Would this apply to a 77 Camaro probably not I’m just wondering if it would be a similar process?

    • @thegaragefathers496
      @thegaragefathers496  Год назад

      The process would be very similar, but of course the parts would be different. I think 77 is still using a three speed automatic, so a 4 speed should bolt upwards to the crossmember and utilize the same drive line. You would need. Correct? Shifter, linkage, pedals brackets and linkage. Sounds like a fun project!

    Trans fluid? Would the crossmember on a Turbo 400 Camaro work with this swap?

    • @thegaragefathers496
      @thegaragefathers496  Год назад +1

      No the 400 transmission rear mount is further back. It uses the same frame mounting holes but won’t line up to a th350, power glide or 4spd.

    What clutch fork spring did you use ? Can you tell me where you got it and a part number ?
    Thank you

    • @thegaragefathers496
      @thegaragefathers496  Год назад +1

      We no longer have a part number but it was a NAPA part. You can try application but I believe it is a generic/ cut and bend your own length if I remember. It was very easy to do. Cut 1/2 inch short then with needle nose round a hook on the end cut.
