With regards to the back leader wanting to flop forward I have found a simple solution. I picked up some small magnets and use those at the ends to hold the leader down while I’m loading the back.
The tip about pulling the back leader a long way over made your back loading method work for me. Many thanks to you and the people who asked the question.
Susan, you are an inspiration to me. Your positive attitude and encouraging coaching are a real comfort when things are not going well. I just got my 16”Grace Q’nique machine and frame in December. I have been quilting on my domestic machine for about 15 years. Primarily I make charity quilts. Sooo I feel like a real newbie now. Thanks for your excellent videos. It helps knowing that crazy things happen to even a quilting professional.
So miffed that I missed you today. My dealer was here setting up my longarm and Q24 and Qmatic.!!! Can hardly wait to sign up for your next class. I am really loving your Friday sessions. Oh Yes, I can hardly wait to learn all I can on the cruise.
Sure! It's "Fan Faire" by Krista Moser. I'll have to share some photos of the quilting - the inner star has custom quilting, and the colored blocks have straight lines in different diagonal directions.
Thank you for having this question and answer session. I could not join in live, but watched it just now. You mentioned an downloadable e-book , I am not finding the link for that, could you publish the link again for others like me who did not get it? Thank you. I am a beginner long arm quilter and findng the adjusting from stationary sewing machine free motion to this method a bit daughting, and you are very helpful in my journey to better stitching as I haven't anyone here to help me with even the basics like loading a quilt. So, your video's are very helpful, thanks again.
I’m searching for a place where I can have photos transferred on to fabric. I’m making a quilt for my granddaughter out of her baby clothes and want to add a few pictures. I’m 68 and every place I’ve checked with online requires instructions that I have no idea how to do. In the past ( 10 years ago) I’ve just emailed the photos , but now with modern technology I’m lost.. do any of you have any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your time.. it’s very welcomed..❤🎉

Excellent solution! Mind if I mention it in future episodes?

Good to know!

Oh yes they do! I'm happy to say that the good times and wonderful quilts far outweigh the challenging moments.

Awesome! Look forward to seeing you in all those places!
Good afternoon! Here from NC.
Love your quilt. Hello from Texas.
Love the quilt behind you. Would you mind sharing it's name and pattern designer? Also how did you quilt the center star. It's beautiful!!!

Sure! Here it is, and I added it into the episode description as well if you ever need to come back for it. stitchedbysusan.myflodesk.com/square

Can you use embroidery thread in quilting?
If you're hand quilting, absolutely! If by machine I don't recommend it.

That's not a thing I've done, although I know the technology is out there. Google it (or have a grandkid do it😉)
