I wear fragrance a lot and never get any complaints. A few compliments every now and then but that’s it. I think most people don’t mind it or enjoy it if you’re not overdoing it. Fragrances also can get better on the skin & in the dry down, so blind testing on scent strips is not the end all be all determination.
@@everardocalderon8720 because we're used to strong smells, food, loud noises, colours, salesmen all competing for attention, in the middle east there's no expectation of peace or personal space once you leave your house (or even in it really), it feels like in the west everyone would rather stay neutral and inoffensive as you say
Why why why whyyyyyyyyy do all review channels smell directly from the test strip?? It's too strong and you do not get the proper scent profile from the fragrance. The test strip should be wafted at least a foot away from the person's nose to get the idea of a person walking by with the fragrance on.

Literally everyone, regardless if he/she is into perfumes or not, can smell the earthy-woody notes with citrusy notes. Especially the grapefruit/orange is so prominent that everyone notices it.
terre d'hermes is my all time favourite. It does not smell great when you put your nose close to it, the magic is the sillage! Smells amazing in the air.
Agreed. I bought it, put it on, and felt like I had aged 40 years so I gave the bottle away but the first time I smelled it in the air I was blown away
Agreed, I discovered recently how TdH is good on the skin and in the air. I tried it before on the paper and it was a pass for me. Oh boy, how I was wrong! And nobody smelled orange 😂
I honestly hated Terre D Hermes when i tested it on paper but once i tried it on my skin and the drydown/sillage it makes, it became one of my top scents 😍
I just bought Terre D' Hermes and I hope I can grow to like it. It smells like Dunhill Icon to me which I ended up returning. I believe it's the vetiver in both that are turning me off.
The magic of Terre D'Hermes happens on skin and then into the air, test strips up close to the nose will never do it justice. My most complimented fragrance in my collection by some margin!
It's funny how high quality your production is so fast off the bat. Better than most classic channels that are a bit "rambly". Interesting on terre d'hermes. Sounds like they're a bit burned out from the testing at that point.

Amazing that you got into fragrances. I've been on the hobbie for a while and I gotta say that this channel has the weirdest blind reactions results, you should look for the overall results on other channels as well.
The 2nd strip is such a nice touch that goes a long way. Great work! Wow, didn’t expect The Dreamer to take such a beating today haha I like it but I can see why they feel that way. Dunhill Icon was my next pick up and their reactions will make me finally pull the trigger on that one.
Hahaha I know right? I owe a small bottle of The Dreamer and I use it as a layer 1 work cologne. Wow they really despised it though. Do test strips make the scents that different? I've never had one
I really appreciate that you give them the opening and the dry down. Most of the time people in videos like this only smell the opening, the shoretst most unimportant phase for the character of a fragrance.
Agreed. I'm into fragrances, but I really only care about the middle and drydown (and really, mostly the drydown). Personally, I'd be fine it were linear the entire way through. The only things less important to me than the opening is the packaging and the bottle design.
Hermes Terre d’Hermes is running for best designer frag of all time and they slander it! PS do be honest when I got mine firs sample I hated it but few years latter I wear it find that sample while moving to other mind and both full bottle next day.
Yea but by that Logic when you’re in public and people smell it on you you’re gonna stink because it’s not like they’re gonna wait around until they change their mind about the scent
Now I'm convinced the skin chemistry plays a very big role in how fragrances are received by other parties, whether by the sillage or how it smells in the air. It should definitely never be underestimated. No wonder some fragrance reviewers advise you spray some on your skin and walk round the mall before deciding whether or not to purchase it from the store.
It's more about smelling the fragrance in the air vs putting your nose directly on a fragrance. My Dior Sauvage Elixir smells so spicy and not in a good way if you put your nose on the skin you sprayed, but whenever I wear it, people absolutely love it. Some notes are meant to stay on the skin and let the other notes radiate in the outer circle around you and those radiating notes are the ones that matter 95% of the time. Remember guys people will smell the fragrance in the air, nobody's gonna rub their nose on your elbow to smell you unless you're with your date/gf.
I love this kinds of videos, because reassuring me that doesn’t matters brands, prices or notes the most important thing from a fragrance is the way that makes you feel and the memories that are coming out within.
Terre D'Hermes doesn't work on cardboard. It needs to be worn on the skin in warm weather then you'll appreciate it. As for Versaces the Dreamer the magic is in the drydown on skin and clothes. That being said, each to their own.
Funny how some related The Dreamer to a clean bathroom, as that's exactly what I use that frag for since it smells horrendous on my skin. Few sprays on the shower curtain after cleaning and the room will smell fresh and clean for a few days.
I wasn't shocked by this age groups reaction to Hermes. It's definitely more of a mature scent, but it's modern. I wear it whether dressed up or casual, I really enjoy it. I would find it odd to smell this on someone in their age group, as this new generation I see as more into the sweet stuff, like anything Paco Rabbane or Azzaro sells today.
I agree. If it doesn't smell like it will give you diabetes, I don't expect it to be worn by 20-somethings. And the hilarious trend towards unisex fragrances isn't something I understand, either.

@@290revolver290 Yup I hated Terre D’Hermes on a strip. And then I blind bought Eau Tres Fraiche because of the notes. Bought samples of the EDT and Parfum. I love the whole line now.
@@sebastienc.2257 Wow! This is amazing to read. Most people get totally discouraged after testing a fragrance on a paper strip and they never look back. I'm looking forward to picking up Terre D' Hermes EDT. I wore it years back but now I want to make it my signature fragrance.
These people had no idea what they were doing. I will give them that they were being honest, but pigs don't appreciate Noma or Den any more than they do Carl's Jr. or Wendy's.
Man, just by Givenchy Gentleman Only showing up and being liked, I already loved this video. This Givenchy is one of the few fragrances that matches my personality, and I nerver understood why it does not get the love on the frag community. But to the average nose, people usually are pleased with this one (normally nothing groundbreaking, but like a 7 or 8 out of 10)
I would be interested to see if their reactions to the same fragrances differed after a week or more. Even going a step further and applying their least favorites to see if they still felt the same.
The only thing I will say was Terre d’hermes smells worse on paper by far than on skin. I was hesitant at the store because it smelled old manish on the test strip and a strong pine tree scent. However once I wore it for the first time it’s deff a unique pleasant scent. It’s just the right amount of strength without shoving it in your face. A slightly fresh but cozy scent that reminds you of a James Bond skiing lodge with a zest of orange/mandarin and fresh green herbs/trees. Honestly a banger and wayyy better on skin
I love that 'industrial' descriptor for Icon. And the methyl anthranilate in the opening is definitely used to flavour chewing gum so that was bang on. Love the protocol guys. Proper blind sniffing.
For vetiver junkies like me, a temporal overlay of "Dunhill Icon" in the morning, "Terre D'Hermès" at noon, and "Encre Noire à L'Extrême" in the evening is the best scent combination for the whole day. I spray these three perfumes on my skin six hours apart, without showering or changing clothes in between.
The inherent problem is that they are sitting in a room smelling these on a paper strip. Have someone walk in wearing Terre D’Hermes on their skin, and let the testers experience it. The results would be drastically different.
Knocked it out the park again with this video. I will be looking forward to more of these in the future. I will be trying the Givenchy next trip to the frag counter. I love Tressa's remarks and she has picked my style a couple of times in previous videos.
Not too surprised at the Terre d'Hermes reaction. It's kind of niche- ish I think it's a thin line between love and hate for some scents. I can accept that most people will not like it but I can still love it :)
No clue why this popped up on my recommends but I’m here for it! The production is off the charts for such a new channel, kudos. I might need to look into some cologne…
The guy with the glasses has a weird obsession with overdescribing what he smells in a completely pointless and non helpful way lol. „This smells like your cousin when he has a bad day, on a summer night outside and then a horse walks buy and says hello.“
I have 4 of the 7 fragrances and would agree that some classic EDP/EDTs may not appeal to the modern nose, even post-reformulation in keeping with IFRA. Personal fave is Cartier so glad to see that it held up in the blind test.
I hate smelling fragrances off of test strips, I feel like they don’t do the fragrance true justice. I’ve smelled something off of a test strips and didn’t like it but when I sprayed it on skin it was completely different. But I like this, it shows how fragrance is so subjective.
The dreamer is a fragrance that smells amazing after like 30mins to 1hr. I got it as a gift, and i also didnt care to much for it when it is first applied, but after a while the smell completely changes and it smells 🔥🔥. Love the smell of it on my clothes the next day
They have two tester strips because one is more freshly applied and the other is the dry down. So when all these people say it's their least favorite, they're incorporating the dry down as well. Not to say it's not a good scent to you, but just clarifying what's happening in this video.
For the mass public who doesn’t know much about fragrances, will most choose ones that smell less polarising and more pleasant. The more complicated and sophisticated smells don’t usually smell “good” as in you most likely wouldn’t want a candle of a it burning in your room. But it smells better on a person cause you associate that with his presence, style and personality. It’s almost a reflection of the person in scent form.
Great idea to add a dry down strip. It would also be good to instruct them to smell the fresh strip in the air rather than immediately putting it to their nose. Erica is a good addition, she has a good nose.
Love Tressa's opinions usually, but suuuuuper disappointed that she hated Terre D'Hermes (and frankly, that nobody else listed it as a favorite). It's definitely a fragrance that grew on me at first but I would call it the most classic and timeless of the whole bunch reviewed in this batch. So to anybody new to fragrances, if you like vetiver and citrus, definitely check Terre d'Hermes out and don't let the blind test here stop you! It's an industry favorite and a grownup classic.
I appreciate the fact that you included a strip of the dry downs this time. Most of these fragrances need to be smelled on skin though. It's funny what people pick up on a test strip. I'm starting to think that the only fragrance Tressa really likes is Creed Aventus. Lol
I really like these videos and I appreciate that these guys are everyday people that smell these perfumes and provide their honest feedback. However when it comes to Niche and some of the perfumes they review, it has to be with a person who appreciate the quality and unique aspects of the scents, which I don’t think these guys care too much about! I have started appreciate Niche perfumes more in the lasts 9 month, because I have spent time watching videos of amazing youtubers that have inspired me to go on a fragrance journey. Like one of the comments, it would be cool to understand what these guys consider their fav’s and understand the occasions/seasons and places they where them. In other words a bit of background on their real interest in fragrances. Hope this makes sense and again really like the way these are done! 😊 👍

But to the average nose, people usually are pleased with this one (normally nothing groundbreaking, but like a 7 or 8 out of 10)
I absolutely disagree with their opinion of Versace The Dreamer. The dry down on this cologne is fantastic!!!
Agree. It is one of the cheapie but most complimented colognes ever. I think it does not really smell good on paper.
This video is good for people that still haven't tried a fragrance not sold at a mall or tj max
Honestly a banger and wayyy better on skin
great presentation! May i suggest that, at the end, you put all the likes and dislikes in a table format so we see the full picture in one shot?
I love that 'industrial' descriptor for Icon. And the methyl anthranilate in the opening is definitely used to flavour chewing gum so that was bang on. Love the protocol guys. Proper blind sniffing.
how do they not like Beau de Jour?! mind blown
Well, clearly because it smells feminine.
Nothing says feminine like a barber shop.
Couldn’t agree more. That’s a fantastic Trio.
Not too surprised that the dreamer was polarizing, but I was really surprised that d’un soir was generally appreciated a lot
Polarizing? They pretty much all bashed it.
@@GoranAbraxas more people bashed it than liked it but there were people that liked it 🤷🏻♂️
Love it!!!! Great vlog!!! Just love watching you and Joshua in the kitchen. 😊🎄☃️🎅🏻🧑🏻🎄
I love this type of videos, random people smelling fragrance, real review
I'm really enjoying these videos. It's fascinating how different noses perceive each scent.
The inherent problem is that they are sitting in a room smelling these on a paper strip. Have someone walk in wearing Terre D’Hermes on their skin, and let the testers experience it. The results would be drastically different.
I never realized how much class and taste Courtney and Teddy have, despite their age, until I watched the opinions of this bunch of kids.
Knocked it out the park again with this video. I will be looking forward to more of these in the future. I will be trying the Givenchy next trip to the frag counter. I love Tressa's remarks and she has picked my style a couple of times in previous videos.
Icon is so good, smells like a rich person, but old money rich and elegant.
Please continue doing this type of videos with Niche Fragrance
Not too surprised at the Terre d'Hermes reaction. It's kind of niche- ish I think it's a thin line between love and hate for some scents. I can accept that most people will not like it but I can still love it :)
This is the best fragrance content youtube has to offer right now
Would like to see you both discuss your reactions/analysis to the guests' comments at the end of the video
Love love love raw contents like this video! Thank you so much for the effort in making this video! Raw content done the right way.
production quality is freakin insane, unmatched even
Great job! Who are the testers? Are they in the fragrance industry?
No clue why this popped up on my recommends but I’m here for it! The production is off the charts for such a new channel, kudos. I might need to look into some cologne…
The quality of your prod is incredible also Teddy you really look like Tom Holland😂
The guy with the glasses has a weird obsession with overdescribing what he smells in a completely pointless and non helpful way lol. „This smells like your cousin when he has a bad day, on a summer night outside and then a horse walks buy and says hello.“
The dude with the Burgundy ball cap though! His interpretation of Versace was too funny 🤣
Terre D Hermès and Versace the dreamer smell amazing
Really enjoying the content so far!
Would love to see the regular Azzaro Wanted blind-tested in the future
The dreamer is a lovely scent
It was my signature scent from 97 to 2005 and they hated it 🤣🤣🤣 maybe it's the reformulation 🤷🏿♂️
Beau de jour is a jewel 💎 also declaration
I have 4 of the 7 fragrances and would agree that some classic EDP/EDTs may not appeal to the modern nose, even post-reformulation in keeping with IFRA. Personal fave is Cartier so glad to see that it held up in the blind test.
Interesting concept for a video. However, I recommend sampling a group of adults that are not from the local community college campus.
😂
I hate smelling fragrances off of test strips, I feel like they don’t do the fragrance true justice. I’ve smelled something off of a test strips and didn’t like it but when I sprayed it on skin it was completely different. But I like this, it shows how fragrance is so subjective.
Def a great format !
I would definitely like to know what fragrances those on the panel wear, for reference.
Probably Sauvage
What ever there parents buy them
I don't want to ever see an opinion ever again by anyone here that disliked Terre d'Hermes. They clearly would give 10/10 to CK One.
Thanks you all. Love this type of video.
I like the video editing where you show everyone's fav and least fav fragrance, keep it up man!
Wow do people in america find "old" any perfume not filled with sugar and ambroxan ?
Great idea to add a dry down strip. It would also be good to instruct them to smell the fresh strip in the air rather than immediately putting it to their nose. Erica is a good addition, she has a good nose.
Oh my goodness, thank you!
This is the best type of frag videos. Keep it up!
Tressa has spoken. Adding For Gentlemen to my cart rn
This is a brilliant way of doing this experiment.
Love the music on this series. Can u give a link to the artist/track?
Love Tressa's opinions usually, but suuuuuper disappointed that she hated Terre D'Hermes (and frankly, that nobody else listed it as a favorite). It's definitely a fragrance that grew on me at first but I would call it the most classic and timeless of the whole bunch reviewed in this batch.
So to anybody new to fragrances, if you like vetiver and citrus, definitely check Terre d'Hermes out and don't let the blind test here stop you! It's an industry favorite and a grownup classic.
Im also surprised that tdh got no love
Terre d’hermes is a masterpiece that can e easily stay in “niche” for sure… IMHO
Great videos! Im loving this channel! Keep up the amazing work.
I appreciate the fact that you included a strip of the dry downs this time. Most of these fragrances need to be smelled on skin though. It's funny what people pick up on a test strip. I'm starting to think that the only fragrance Tressa really likes is Creed Aventus. Lol
Subtle and fresh wins the day yet again. Not that I think the beast mode compliment bros will learn anything from these videos.
Whatever Izzy's favorite is, Im buying
So well done
First time watching one of these. Very good sample group
Tressa in the brown jacket smiles less than Tressa with the yellow beanie. What happened? 🤷🏻♂️🤔
The way they went in on Versace Dreamer 🤣🤣🤣🤣 woah
Nice format. Really fun.
So interesting to see how people perceive scent
What we learned? That when people dont know the fragrance they dont like any! Brand recognition weights a lot 😂
I just picked up some Stetsons and it's a winner, gents.
Cartier Declaration d'un soir smells best on skin, totaly different feel than on paper.
It's smell like love.
For such a young channel this is some great content.
