We definitely want extensions on mobile. I think the fact that Apple has created a mobile Safari extension ecosystem years ago proves the value of them. Shopping extensions (cashback and coupon testing) is our primary business and we hate having to tell our clients that "sorry, there is just no opportunity on Chrome for Android or iOS."

Mobile extensions would without a doubt be useful and impactful to businesses/developers. Apple has cornered this market for a few years, but there are tons of users who would prefer to default to Chrome across all their devices. We want to service those preferences and expand our extension's surfaces and usage.

Would love to see extensions for mobile devices. I know many people who would prefer to use chrome as their default mobile browser since they use chrome on their laptop, but since there's no extensions on mobile, they don't end up using it

It has perplexed the industry for years that desktop chrome has extensions but mobile does not. I use five productivity extensions on a daily basis for work, mainly with the G suite of apps, which I use for most of my work. I'm talking about little things like tweaks to how Gmail behaves that I have come to rely on. It is my dream to have that same functionality on mobile so I can switch from iOS to Android.

Re. filtering out unhelpful reviews, is there any plan to filter out reviews that down-rated an extension/app for not having an upcoming feature years ago, but never revised the review? The average rating for one CWS page over the past year was 4.89/5, but the total average rating is dragged down by reviews from ten years ago, when that project was newer, requesting features that released within the following year or two.

There should be plugins based on webassembly like WebPlugin API so Flash can continue to exist and be secure, and Add plugin permission in WebExtension API Framework or incorporate wasm in extension in better ways and WebPlugin should let wasm have access to DOM

Another vote for mobile extensions! I'm an avid deal hunter and only use Safari on my phone because then I can easily earn cashback with my favorite extensions. I would definitely switch to Chrome (which is what I already do on desktop) if mobile extensions were available there. Crossing my fingers for mobile in 2025!

With Chrome on mobile enjoying over 68% market share in 2024 (per Statcounter), why continue to exclude this massive user base from having utilities such as productivity enhancers, shopping assistants, and money-saving tools, the same as they enjoy on Chrome desktop? Another vote for Chrome Mobile Extensions, please, Google!

Manifest V2 is incompatible with Android because it doesn't support persistent processes. This is why they eliminated the persistent background page in Manifest V3, so as to force developers to rewrite their extensions to be ephemeral.
Once all MV2 extensions have been either converted to MV3 or removed from the Chrome Web Store, Chrome on mobile will be able to support extensions.

The future of browsers will involve AI agents that can autonomously navigate and work directly in the browser, but we need better APIs and more freedom to navigate and interact with web pages programmatically. It’s essential that we can deploy any AI model locally in the browser, including voice models. Microsoft Edge is already advancing with real-time voice and AI screen capture, tracking everything happening on your screen. Every browser will be an AI agent in the future, I'm not seeing any development from the Chrome team in this direction.
There's an overemphasis on security and I understand the crucial need for security but there has to be a way to design the browser to allow for AI agents in a secure manner that protects the user.
Please start working towards this ASAP.
Frameworks like selenium and puppeteer cannot be run locally in the browser and this is a huge bottleneck for creating AI agents. Work arounds are expensive require servers and are less reliable. There needs to be a built-in API that can effectively navigate all aspects of the web page. Pairing this with AI models opens up a whole new world.
