“And I see no reason to upgrade them”- regarding the tuners. You know this is a serious and *actual* review to benefit the viewers when you hear this. There seems to be a modern guitar culture where people automatically ‘upgrade’ new guitars (especially pickups) without really giving it thought or time to make a proper judgement
@@guitarcollectorguy Those alnico pickups with that exaggerated output and 250k pots can't do anything else: nothing strange, it is obvious that such a mix creates an extremely dark sound. the only thing to do is try putting 500k pots and see if it clears up but I doubt it. it is necessary to change pickups with ceramic ones if you want to manage a significant output otherwise alnico with lower output but always with 500k pots. with those electronics they have ruined an otherwise excellent lutherie product because in all other aspects it is a very well made guitar.
As flat as a pancake. I was going to replace the pickups for humbucker-sized P90s but I will probably just sell it now as it's the worst guitar in my collection of 14.
Thanks man, great review. I'm considering getting one ;)
Thank you
