  • We spent a beautiful weekend camping in the forests of Rolley Lake Provincial Park in Mission, British Columbia. A coastal rainfall warning was already underway, but we were planning to go camping in the rain for quite some time - so we were kinda happy with this.
Rolley Lake Provincial Park is about 1.5 hours from Vancouver. The park is a predominately flat, wilderness area blanketed with tall, second-growth conifers. The small, warm-water lake provides opportunities for swimming, fishing, and canoeing.
Once we arrived at the campground, we set up the tarp shelter quickly as we knew the rain was coming soon. Heavy rainfall started pretty much as soon as we were done with the setup so it was time to light up the campfire. We spent some amazing time sitting by the campfire, enjoying the rain and the sounds of raindrops on the tarp. Rainy day camping can only get better with some tea and cookies - so we made sure we are never out of tea!

Hot chocolate, card games and friends… some of the best camping trips are in the rain 😊

Rainy days have their own charm, especially with good company and warm drinks. 😊 Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
