I knew it was only a matter of time when I seen this thing come out that a video from you was incoming. It's awesome. Glad to see you got the S version too!
This console looks beautiful. I love the Sega Genesis and they were clearly inspired by the Genesis controller. I recently got the Anbernic RG353V but I do want to get this one someday and when I do Bubsy for the Genesis will be the first game I play on it (and I own up to it)
I got the ARC D just because I needed that gorgeous Japanese saturn colorway in my life and I've been loving it. I was really surprised how well Saturn plays straight out of the box, and kind of the whole out of the box experience has been great. Even the larger buttons have that slightly dull thunk that you get with original genesis and Saturn buttons, though that may just be incidental and not something they were trying to emulate. It's a second device, I already have the 353P for my Nintendo and other games, this one I have strictly dedicated to Sega games because the form factor makes my Sega kid heart happy. At the pricepoimt without games, it's a little easier to justify as a second device. Going to spend some time this weekend printing the awesome Sega genesis carrying case that someone modeled and posted for this. Glad to see you're getting the same kind of enjoyment from it that I am. :)
I bought the Arc D even though I'm not interested in using its Android mode. The reason? The solid color looks more appealing. I wish the Arc S had been available in solid black and white. It's silly the transport colors only are for the cheaper one and the solid only for the more expensive one, since the shells are identical!
The performance and d-pad are worth the price on its own. Then you throw in the comfort and great size even with big hands. This has taken the top spot for me over my Miyoo Mini + and Anbernic 353v. The Arc-S is a freakin beast. I got mine with the 128gig card which has great performance on its own, it was on sale at Amazon for 104, with a 15 dollar case on the way. Good stuff!! Nice coverage and subbed!
How are you enjoying it two months later ? I'm thinking about this or the retroid pocket 3 with grips to make it more comfortable. Retroid pocket 3 is more expensive and more powerful but doesn't look as comfortable to me.
@@ajdoyle9559 Honestly, I play my Arc-S daily. The performance is perfect, it will play any game that doesn't require analog sticks just fine, I was playing Crash Bandicoot with zero problems. Comfort is no issue as it fits perfect with zero cramping. It plays any game just fine, I am blown away by the performance and if you connect a controller then it plays Dreamcast games well. It is my top handheld for sure!!
@@WickedGamerCollector Please do! I don’t have any complaints but there some stuff that I don’t know how to do like add new emulators. Hopefully you cover that
I picked this one up it feels so good to play mega drive and sega games with and the emulation is very smooth and performs very well. And it looks like the classic sega saturn ‘this is cool pad’!
I was having a blast playing older Sega games on my ARC-D, I love the nostalgic style, I was a Genesis fanboy (though I also had an SNES eventually). Very comfortable to use for long sessions. Unfortunately mine abruptly stopped booting into Linux and only loads Android, hopefully Anbernic can resolve it for me.
suggestion regarding the hdmi input on that samsung TV/monitor: by naming the input "PC" you will disable any scaling/post processing and you will get a very sharp image and way lower latency
Screen ratio looks lovely and it's absolutely great seeing the Sega Saturn controller button layout but that D-pad...hmmm. I can't see that lasting long. How do you think it's going to stand up over time Wicked?
@@WickedGamerCollector The original Odroid Go was my 3rd device, after the dingoo and caanoo :) I still use the Go Advance Black as my daily driver. I have a dozen of the aliexpress units, but I always go back to HardKernel for some reason...
@@WickedGamerCollector SORRY MISTAKE! It's the 6 core ultra, not the 4 core super, and it's $60. Not sure you can get another 6 core with a 5" screen for $60?
I am mainly interested in the comfortability of using the device. I have a 353vs and it is sort of hard to fully utilize the thumb sticks and the trigger buttons at the same time to play for longer hours. This seems very comfortable to use compared to the vertical handheld that I have.
Anbernic is really decent for their prices. You get alot of bang for the buck. Awesome review. your review of that fake snes was hilarious 🤣. Now your playing with china power 🤣🤣.
I’m trying to map the analog stick to the dpad on the arc s, and I’m not seeing how to do this controller profile switch here, has anyone figured out this out for the arc s?
It's all up what you like to play in the end. 8bit, 16bit all the the way to ps1 is fine. Dreamcast, Sega Saturn is possible to play. Looking for n64 it's not a good handheld. I love this formfactor and d-pad.
It is pretty nice hardware but like any Anbernic device, the software is janky AF and they are done updating it and Anbernic no longer provides source code to third parties so that's the end of that. Maybe wait for Arc 2 and it'll be 10% better but still jank software.
For how long have Sega fans waited? Too long as Nintendo ninny’s get a handheld every freaking day it seems. While we have waited years. Yes, I have one and yes, I love it. Needs more power better software improvements but, it’s awesome!
The Anbernic Logo Looking like SEGA's? I had emailed them about that. So, I think though I can't prove it. That was my idea. Outside of the email I sent them before release of this system that is. I have that. @@Pridetoons
This looks like a very good handheld for retro games that dont use analog controls.
Damn, I was already sold with the Sega controller. Wow, what a nostalgia ride with that controller comfort! Even the performance is quite impressive!
Yes, performance getting better and better !

Yeah S model $99 it's a nice price.
The money we pay for these devices are crazy.
At this point they are getting better and cheaper.
I bought this and very happy with it. Mostly wanted to play capcom fighting games so the 6 button layout works very well.

Great video! I bought the Arc D version. I’ve been playing Streets of Rage 2 on a daily since I’ve gotten this 😂
Need to review the D version to 😅

@@achirasilva2567 not really! I don’t play a lot of games on that device that actually require it
Awesome as always I love mine been playing it for about a week now got the all black android version. But wicked video as always Mr wicked
Not counting the absence of analog sticks for late-era PS1, N64, and Dreamcast usage, this is absolutely the button layout I wish more portables used!
Welcome back buddy😊
Thanks, it's great to make vids again.
So much better laying for dead in my bed 😶

ok, is that even possible with this old non smart tv model 😅
It is. I've done it myself on mine

just bought mine 2hours ago. cant wait
I don't know if it's still happening, but HardKernel discounted the Odroid Go Super to $50 for their anniversary sale. I snapped one up myself :)
After seeing the video of EmuChicken I totally forgot about them.

Can you connect two of these to play against each other? That's basically the last feature these things need. VS mode.
It's not perfect but it's passable for the money. Good review and cool video Wicked!👉🙂👈
how do you re-map comtrols for dreamcast/naiomi? mvc2 runs well but I can't find where to re-map the controls

Hello, Can it play Marvel vs Capcom 2 (Dreamcast) at full speed without frame skip? Thanks.
Can you review the Retroid Pocket 4 PRO?
We need more _four inch_ 4:3 aspect ratio screen handhelds.
they should add two rumble stick on both side. if so this is perfect.
I hope they make a v2 with a better processor. Ill buy that day one!
I think you're paying the price for nostalgia more than performance great review though wicked 👍
Yeah you are paying for the firmware and dpad. I agree you lose alot in terms of n64 and Dreamcast support.
what folder do i put scraped cover art in?
why does the screen have a blue tinge ? How did I guess PSP choppy
How does Dragon Force 1 and 2 run on it?

does it have Bluetooth?

8bit, 16bit all the the way to ps1 is fine.
Dreamcast, Sega Saturn is possible to play.

This one ... ow YES !
6 buttons!!!
yeah ! 💖
will you try the android version of this console ??
I've seen some reviews and it looks like the games run terribly on Android with is on the arc D model.
I wish anbernic would create PS2. But without emulators. So we can play PS2 games as much we wants XD

So it doesn't play ps2 ? Ps2 is the only real gaming system that matter to me as far as an emulator like this .
