    .. so the difference between the GB300 and this PLUS-version is that the PLUS now uses 18650 form factor batteries instead of the BL-5C nokia batteries, right ? They didn't even change the information on the box, there it still says 800mah which is / was the capacity of the BL-5C clone they use in the GB300 ... changing to 18650 is a good idea, but i still think the SF2000 is a better offer below 20,- bucks.

    the main problem with these is the display which is meant to be used for vertically oriented devices, so by using it in horizontal orientation brings that viewing angle difference in color between left and right eye. Far more managable and less strain on eyes when vertical.

    I don't care if people clone the SF-2000, but... the reason why the SF-2000 is worth getting at all is specifically because of its SNES design and feel. JUST WHAT ARE THOSE GB-300 SHOULDER BUTTONS??

    • @Bendilin

      The Xbox One d-pad is nice, but I feel overall with similar performance, the SF-2000 is just the clear winner between it and the GB-300. And I'm someone who prefers vertical, GameBoy styled handhelds.

    In case anyone wonders (not really), the cpu is again the same old HCSEMI B210, 32bit MIPS junk media soc . Not sure why they are still sanding it, people know how to find out.
    Some guys are moving screens from sf2000 into this, it works just fine. While addition of PCE is nice, the omission of FBA for arcade is a shame as sf2000 is running a lot of arcade games very well. I would probably sacrifice the crappy gba for the FBA instead.

  • @super8bitvideos
    @super8bitvideos 8 месяцев назад +1

    Not a bad little system. Plays pretty much everything up to GBA. The screen isn't the best. You can see some framerate issues in some games with some screen tearing at times. If you are looking to put your own games on the micro SD, you need to make a ROMS folder and place your roms in there. If you wish to utilize save states on your added roms, make a folder called SAVE in the ROMS folder. Placing your own roms in the game folders will not add them, and removing the built in games doesn't seem to remove them from the menu.

      @@WickedGamerCollector I just got it in the mail. THIS DEVICE IS AMAZING (for the price). I'm trying to figure out the file type for the ROMs because the file extensions start with "z" which I presume are supposed to be container files that have the game ROMs and thumbnail images that appear in the menu (edit: I found a tutorial video about the SF2000 handheld which uses similar files). The device physically feels like it's of good quality.
      I do agree that the GBA emulation is not very good. If they couldn't get it to work properly, they should have not bothered to include it. I might just delete the GBA ROMs from it altogether and forget all about playing those games on it. Screen tearing is also an issue for many of the emulators.
      But I'd say that the positives far outweigh the negatives. The scaling for the NES games is done quite nicely and I appreciate that each game has a graphical preview. Having save states is also a great feature, especially for what is supposed to be a low budget device like this. And the search feature is also really helpful.

    • @hitfan2000
      @hitfan2000 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@WickedGamerCollector I also figured out a few things about the device. You should really only add supported roms in the /ROMS folder (you have to create it). A cool surprise is that you can add Sega Master System ROMs (.sms files) to that folder, which is not part of the 7 systems that are seen on the main screen. So with that, the GB300 supports 8 systems (albeit, the GBA doesn't really work very well).

    • @hitfan2000
      @hitfan2000 9 месяцев назад +1

      I added Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! NES ROM to the /ROMS folder (because I'd rather play that than the non-Mike Tyson Punch-Out!! that comes with the GB300) and I spent much of Saturday morning playing it with my son while it was connected to the TV. I used the longer AV cable that came with my Revo K101 because the one that comes with the GB300 is fairly short. I'd say that the video-out works pretty good.
      I think for $18 Canadian dollars, I'd say I've gotten a lot of entertainment value from this device.

      Hello!
      On the Data Frog SF2000, which seems to be largely identical to this GB300, you can add games to your favorites (and delete them again) by pressing the Y button - in the favorites menu you can do this with the X button.
      The history cannot be deleted. It resets each game you play to the top of the list.
      'Mario Paint' cannot be played because it requires a SNES mouse and the GB300 only has a control pad.
      I hope I was able to help a little. Best wishes from Germany! 🙂
