I am SO HAPPY right now!! I’m a single, 59 year old female and I pull a travel trailer. I do it by myself and I LOVE IT!! I get so frustrated when I hear/see other women say they’re too scared to do it. Why? You’re not too inept, silly, dumb, weak, etc. Anyone can do it and should! It’s empowering & self esteem building. Plus, an emergency (ie: the driver gets sick, breaks something, etc) is NOT a good time to learn. I am so capable of driving, backing in, hooking up and breaking down my own rig. And so is every other woman out there!! Thank you both so much for a much needed video. I wish all the bigger RV channels would do the same. Happy camping. I’m at a state park right now and it’s amazing!!
I know people talk that way but being able to tow/drive an rv not a man/women thing as MJ and tons of women on youtube have proven. I (a guy) tow a 22' hybrid and want no part of a big motorhome towing a 24' trailer!
Thanks for the great tips. We just bought a 36 foot Class A gas and this helps a lot with things to know about parking and making turns. We have driven a rental Class C “31”foot and know a few basics so this covers things I didn’t know.
I think that this is one of the best videos you have ever done and that has been done for a pilot of a recreational vehicle. Personally I come from a land of large trucks and I can thread a needle with my 42 foot coach Please keep up the good work I’m going to forward this video to my family members who have just become new RV years. Thomyt
You have NO IDEA how inspiring it is to see a woman at the wheel of a "Class A!" !!!! I started learning to drive back in 2019 and after scouring RUclips for Videos on Driving there were very few if any "Big Rig" Women Drivers to watch. Thank you for this video and all other "Lady Driver" videos you produce! It's still wonderful to see even after all this time! I did take lessons from "RV School", which I highly recommend to any new driver! This is fantastic! Relaunch these so that we find them in current searches! ~Big C in the DP 📢 ::: Air Horn 📢 ::: ::: Air Breaks! ::: 🚌🚌🚌
I dont drive YET but I am going to learn. Hubby does a good job and we use radios now instead of our phones. That extra set of eyes outside is very important!
I found myself, laughing, at myself, I used to hate left turns on my motorcycle, then I used to hate right turns in my RV. For me both were and still are a learning curve. LOL
Awesome video as always. I realize this one is a couple years old but very relevant. My wife drove our 24ft towing a 20ft boat behind, but has been reluctant to drive our new one that is 32ft plus towing a jeep. I sent her your 2 videos hoping it makes her feel a little more confident and willing to drive.
Good info. I have a dragger but want to teach my wife how to tow it Another motive for her going the skill to trailer the rig, she could tow the boat! Nice job.
Had a Class C and a breeze to drive, added a car trailer and life got more interesting. Now have a 35' A with 22' trailer and pucker factor is higher. Especially driving solo
Great video! Also for first timers, find out if there are driving instructors for a class in your area. We were lucky that a friend owns a school near by and placed on a special course for our rig. Great help/advice from our friend!
Great video very thoughtful! Brian always drives when we have the trailer. It limits our travel days because I'm not comfortable pulling the rv with the truck. That is our biggest motivator to upgrade to driver or something I can at least drive on highways. Stay safe and happy travels.
I purchased a Bay Star 3014 recently, and have been watching many of your videos ….thank you!! My husband had a stroke 4 years ago and is wheelchair bound; while I’m excited to get him out camping again, I’m nervous not having a second driver or someone to help me park. Hopefully pull thru sites will be available as I transition from towing a 5th wheel to driving a class A. Are there any organizations you know of or tutorials for someone like me??
Great information. I enjoy driving ours. Now been doing it so long it just like anything else. I am a very cautious driver by nature though. Car, RV, or anything else. I agree on asking for help if you are by yourself to. Great point there.
Very well presented, I am still not comfortable driving my Class A 40ft Diesel pusher through mountains. Hope to learn this soon. Thank you for all you do.
I can drive our RV, with no problems. My better-half has a very large nervous gene that he doesn't let me drive. 😅🤣😆 Thanks for the how-to. Great video!
Thank you for this video. I love those cones. I would be nervous to drive a big rig. But you both taught us all really well. Great MJ on driving. You made it seem easy. Thank you both so much great job!👍 Stay safe.
Great Pointers, it takes practice even using a spotter,I like the way Izzy directed you into the spot. Telling you witch way to turn the wheels. I think MJ is ready for that 45 foot Showhauler !! Just Saying !!
Go wide and make sure your rear pivot point passes the curb. Watch our first directing video and we explain it even more. Thanks for watching and the comment. Izzy
@@EndlessRVing I just discovered your channel and appreciate the tips - looks as if I have some good "bed time reading" ahead. Now, to watch the earlier driving video... ruclips.net/video/DUdc_Igbbdc/видео.html Thanks!
@@EndlessRVing Yeah, I know. I was hoping for some magical idea. 😂 I’m excited and scared at the same time about the thought of pulling a 5th wheel next year. I’m used to a short trailer. 😱
Great video guys. MJ, looks like you’ve mastered that monster. Just don’t get THAT good or Izzy may get too comfortable in the Navigator’s chair. You gotta keep him on his toes, you know! 😉 Hope y’all are well. Troy
Hello, looking to buy a 32’ c class. My wife and I would like to travel the country. Never drove something this big. I want to be safe and enjoy the ride but a little scared…not even sure if a 32’ is to large for me to drive. Is a c class for us?
Really great info in general. I always enjoy your videos. You probably won’t read this, since I’m writing it 10 months after the publish date (sorry - just found it 😄), but I do have a comment I’m hoping you won’t take wrong. I was sort of disappointed that you offered so little (as in zero) info or driving/parking tips for solo travelers. Fortunately, I have a smaller Class C (27’ Winnebago) rather than a Class A. But honestly, most all the same concerns apply. Then again, you can only realistically talk about what you know - and you are an awesome TEAM. 👍🏼
Right, we don't like to speak on things we are not very familiar with,. We don't know much about solo travel because we don't do it. Thanks for watching!
My wife and I developed hand signals 40+ years ago. She stands at the back driver's side corner where I can see her in the mirror at all times. If I can't see her I stop. Driving a diesel pusher is different than a gas motorhome because you're sitting in front of the steer tires. 85% of RV insurance damage claims is the results of "tail-swing" according to reports. I've seen barriers at fuel pumps hit.
Yep that tail swing is something many people miss which is why we focused a lot on it in this video. Glad you have a system with your wife. 👍 Thanks Roy. - MJ
