It's completely normal for rental car companies to put a deposit on your credit card. (They do it for Americans too....usually about 200 or 300). It has nothing to do with being from out of the country. Regarding insurance, you can decline it - many credit cards offer protection, but it's supplemental (meaning it pays what your insurance company won't). You have to make sure your own insurance would cover you while you're outside of Russia. Keep in mind if you damage a rental car, they can charge you for the damages AND loss of use while the car is being fixed. So the insurance can be a good idea in some cases. I rented a car in Germany last year - my American Express card covered the insurance but my personal auto insurance wasn't valid there.
Charlotte has one of the cleanest downtowns ive ever been to ! I was blown away at how clean that area is ! Beautiful park everything about the downtown area I loved cant wait to go back

By the way, the Grande Disco sculpture was built by an Italian artist in order to commemorate Mecklenburg's Declaration of Independence from England. and the stadium you pointed out while standing in Romare Bearden Park is actually the BB&T Ballpark. It's home to the city's baseball team, The Charlotte Knights. All in all, I'm glad you liked Charlotte and keep creating great content!

I'm a Charlotte native, uptown (what locals call downtown) is mainly a business district. Its usually pretty quiet after or before business hours unless its friday or saturday night, or if there is a street festival.
She is a Southern Belle. She wears this costume and poses as an old fashioned Southern girl as a job, for tourists to ride with her in the carriage and have pictures taken with her. When my grandmother visited the South years ago, she went to beautiful public gardens, and in the pictures she took there were young ladies dressed just like this in the parks. They were part of the atmosphere and the experience. My grandmother talked to them and had her picture taken with them. I am thinking it is like the people who dress like Pilgrims that hang around our New England historical sites, who talk to the visitors about what life was like in the 1600's.
Clean and orderly, but other than that this is what the typical souless dowtnown area of every Anglo-Saxon city looks like, repetitive, and boring places with faux modern "art", devoid of any real artistic beauty or creativity. Not a big fan.

Yeah, 83 is pleasant here in Charlotte. In June & August it's often close to 100. 83 is lovely, perfect, mild weather.
