I just read an article about a guy using a cut tail to place over another bass tail to make it look longer. These people just need to stop. My dad and other family members are fishing guides in ND on Lake Sakakawea. He has entered many tournaments in his 35+ years of fishing and has always been professional about it. Won some and lost some. But, always professional and shook the hands and had a beer with the winners. There are rough days and days when you’re rippin lips. Being unprofessional and dishonest takes the fun out of it. Almost all the anglers are out there because of the passion and the heart of fishing. Just don’t cheat period.

The most powerful law enforcement entity in Texas is the TPWD Game Warden. Also, if I am not mistaken, I think the Sealy Tournament requires a polygraph be administered and you have to pass it to get your winnings.
Most tournaments do that now. Some cheaters still pass them though.

This is a threat to fishing tournament's future. On one side you have truly guilty bastards ruining it for everyone,including future Anglers. On the other side even with the best of intentions this will suck the fun out of the sport. Also breeding grounds for innocent people that just happen to do great to be glared at with suspicion. That's why perhaps guys will want to record everything or atleast every catch. Other alternative is having a licensed Witness in every boat,which would suck but might be warranted for tournaments with these big purses? I don't know,it sucks!

I caught a 12" bass that weighed 19lbs. I used a junbun worm as a trailer on a 19lb green pumpkin football jig. That bass swallowed the jig whole! and I won a new truck and boat! Since then, I always use 19-pound jigs! I started winning a lot too!

I fish for sport, but watch tournament fishing for entertainment. I've never thought about stuffing fish weights to win!! They should not only take their boat but their homes!! All got from cheating!!!

Seen it over here in UK ,one scum bag caught a very large fish took photos , changed clothes took more photos ,change again more photos ,but didn't notice tiny bit of straw stuck to tail , winning monthly awards ,on 3 different months but with same fish ,what can u do 🎣

I got the honor of fishing Fork one time back in early 2000's...what a beautiful lake...the day we went we noticed some really nice bass dead floating on top of the water...we fished and had only couple of bites...when we were leaving a guy told us that there was some kind of a bladder disease issue going on with the bass population....nothing was biting...well dam...but hey....still can say I've fished Fork.

A 20yr fishing license ban from state and surrounding states....This guy won't be able to fish anywhere...Maybe 3 yrs mandatory with a fine of millions..also there a lawsuit from the sponsors and tournaments. Then the townships fishermen can sue them in civil court.

I never will forget the Oklahoma Bassmaster Tourney at Grand Lake Oklahoma I remember another problem made it a Bummer it was zero degrees wind chills and gusting 45mph + So bad weather and it ruined the tournament. I lived in the area and remember the bad weather. I was not in the event. Like 2015-2016. There is a whole lot more that can ruin fishing than cheating I had an F-4 tornado go over me barely missing me on a fishing trip when I was a kid.
The F-4 killed 25 people on the lake that day and took out 1000 boat slips wiped all the buildings of the marina to bare dirt. Spring break trying to just catch crappie to eat for spring break. Boats in trees a mile down the road.

we went crappie fishing last night, and caught so many just under slot. they all got thrown back only had 4 keepers. Some days are worse than others, it's not worth it to get fined and go to jail. these guys are idiots and need to be banned from tourneys.

The one thing I will give the guy credit for is coming clean right off the bat when he got busted (if that isactually true) I think when someone does something wrong but confesses immediately, there's a little redeeming factor to it. It shouldn't relieve him of any punishment, but it shows they knew it was wrong and have a sense of remorse over it. Just a little bit anyway

Has anyone ever consider that if you look at the cheater that got caught a few years before Terry it’s the same picture that they used for terry’s just pointing that out there he didn’t do it I was with him he caught the fish in the deep and when he pulled it up it was shredded and it was 15 inches you could see it wasn’t cut they also let him Waugh the fish in the fish was only like 2 pounds not no 6 pounds like you said look at the picture of the guy that got caught before Terry on lake fork it’s the same picture
