  • In this video, I'm discussing how to get the curly ends on your starter locs if you have a looser texture and how to manually create them if you have a kinkier texture by adding hair. How to prevent breakage, how to keep it hydrated, etc.

    Always love the look of the curly ends. I have 4b hair and plan on starting my loc journey hopefully this month in November, but I plan on getting some color back before I get locs. I’ll be starting with the coil method❤️

    Thank you for this video. I plaited curly ends on my microlocs to create the boho look. It looks really natural. I want to add some curls on the middle of my locs as a permanent feature. I am not sure how this would work. What do you recommend? ❤

    If your hair is curly like 4a in a wash n go, is that what you mean by natural curl? Will a 4a curl remain at the end of locs? I like my curls, but with two little kids whose hair I Also have to do, I want a more permanent solution to an easier to maintain style for me.

    I had wispy wavy ends a year into my journey and I trimmed them years ago. I just combed out the ends and they are too cute but I don’t think I want to keep up with the maintenance. I’m hoping they’ll loc up wavy again and not blunt. 🤞🏽

    • @CourtneyGrayton
      @CourtneyGrayton  Год назад +2

      Depending on how much you combed out, you might want to coil the ends to give them a shape for when they loc again

    This video came right on time. So I am truly wanting to do the big chop and start my locs from scratch. I am recently growing out my relaxed Bob and I wondered how to have curly ends when I’m starting from a TWA. I have thick fine hair. Is there a suggested loc size 0.4m or 0.08m or larger?

    • @temsology
      @temsology 3 месяца назад +1

      Before so you don’t damage your locs. With locs the dye can get stuck inside of them and damage them from the inside out

    • @CourtneyGrayton

      You can use a crochet tool to make the ends look more uniform. Look for an instant loc tutorial. I have a video explaining the method, with pros and cons: ruclips.net/video/OnTvL0KnUJ0/видео.html - Start at 7:05

    If you start the loc with instant locs, how easy is it to comb out the ends and have curly ends? Also, how easy is it to comb out the locs after years of crochet maintenance?

    • @CourtneyGrayton
      @CourtneyGrayton  Год назад +1

      Combing out mature locs is a fairly simple process, it’s the time it takes that makes it “hard” to do. It’s extremely time-consuming. So that’s really up to a person’s patience!
