Her sadness here looks more genuine than it ever did when she was recounting even the most horrific of the allegations, the incident with the broken bottle. It might be more genuine, but if she were telling the truth she would have completely broken down here no matter how strong and stoic she tried to be.

I thought it spoke volumes when JD had such compassion for his mother, even taking his children to the hospital when she was dying. I watched every minute of the trial and it’s a shame that people can blatantly lie on the stand and nothing is done about it. @@BOSS_1417 It's a little disappointing that AHs penalty payment is actually: $8.35 million [$10million + (instead of the other $5 million > $350,000 because that is the cap in that state) = $10,350,000 - deducting the $2 million on JD side]
If you consider that she took $7 million out of his pocket in the divorce (which is actually due to charity organizations and which she has not donated so far and probably never will), and if you add JD's costs and fees for the trial alone and the damage he suffered from his lost film rolls, then the amount Amber was sentenced to seems way, way, way too small. 🙄There is not even a penny left for that damage he himself had to go through. Viewed as a whole, AH remains just an abysmal damage. For Johnny and for everyone else she gets caught up in her sick web of lies to her advantage, no matter at whose expense, and in the end rightfully for herself. Unbelievable.
Well, you should let go and look to the future, and it was not about money (at least not on JDs side), the most important thing was, that telling the truth has led to justice and his reputation to be restored and hopefully life can go on free of past burdens.

I was at work when the verdict was being read. Everyone cheered for JD winning his case. Seeing AHs face during the whole thing was the cherry on top. The only actual emotion I saw was defeat and it was glorious.

Going out on a limb, but as an attorney, if you believed your client (especially one with the the claims she had) wouldn't you pat or rub their back in solidarity or support or empathy? To me it's telling that they were cut and dry there to represent her, not believe her.

Yep! Nothing made sense in this trial coming from that team! Nothing aligned. The photos didn’t match being beat repeatedly in the face from someone wearing rings on every finger! There’s a reason brass knuckles are illegal. The pictures could’ve been the result of anyone because no one witnessed JD hitting her! Her sister lied, as sisters will do. Nothing made sense she had no evidence and she didn’t turn over her phone or any of her evidence except what she wanted to and that’s just very telling. Johnny turned over everything.
I noticed a while back that the man sitting next to her always looked like he was regretting taking this case. Like he knew there was no truth behind Amber's claims and hated trying to convince people otherwise. There were so many times that it looked like he was zoned out and completely uninterested in what was happening in the hearing. Elaine always looked clueless, confused, or panicked while he just looked miserable.
In court, its not always about what is true. It's sometimes about what you can prove. If I was guilty of something, I'd want a competent attorney to represent me, more than I wanted a hug from them. Their job is to represent her in court, not be her emotional support.
To lie to the end and still look pitiful takes a lot of evil, vile guts.
