My issue is selecting a player who had barely dribbled in a WNBA game(CG) this year, an over the hill, also injured DT, and BG who I believe has missed half the season so far! 3 injured players on your roster! Ridiculous.

      YES!
And the terrible thing us that it is not just picking their friends. It is choosing who is and is not based on politics and views, but we have no idea of those views.
Caitlin Clark seems shunned because she can get big dollars for endorsements and because she is not "one of them." But, CC has never tried to be an advocate for or against anything, for which the rest of the WNBA elite advocates. She seems convicted got her silence?? Why?
And, Cheryl Reeve needs to go away. She may be fine as a WNBA coach, but playing who she played?? Great that she sat Tarausi that should have not been on the team, but Ionescu should have gotten more minutes.
The sad thing I saw from both this and the NBA squad that had a similar performance, is that their biggest potential strength never was used. DEPTH. When you bring injured and older players, you lose the ability to use depth by throwing fresh bodies on the floor.
These teams reminded me of the 1988 Men's team coached by John Thompson that had a lack of shooters, one of which was the injured Hershey Hawkins who was not played. The Soviets showed up with a bunch of players from their "Baltic SSRs" that could shoot, like Sabonis. End result: Bronze for U.S.; Gold for the Soviets; and the Silver went to Yugoslavia.

Chelsea Grey and Diana Taurasi both should of refuse the invite for the betterment of growing the brand. Instead they come off is selfish and entitled. @@hottrakz The refs were bad both ways. They called and out of bound ball that was clearly should of been France's ball. That gave the US the basket that kept them ahead. instead of giving France the lead.

A win is a win and a gold medal is a gold medal. Both Clark and Reese needed a break since they have been playing since October. Having said that, the entire team will be younger in 2028 and that includes the players and coaching staff.

The entire purpose as the Olympic committee and the WNBA is to Grown the WNBA brand. The AZ players should of not be selected. Anrike, CC, and Boston or Reese should of been selected. At least Anrike should been on the team instead of DT. She was the notable one that was left off the team. When it was announced. I's pick Boston because she was the RoY that year.

True... But who you going to pick for the next coach? The world is shifting to running 5 out of we don't evolve, this will be the end of the streak... Who didn't play for team USA that could've played for Nigeria... If both of those players played for Nigeria(that played in the All Star game), they would've won Gold

That is because they didn't have a player who could break down the defense because that players was still recovering for a 9 months of no basketball. It's unfortunate I don't know of the other point guards for the other teams other then Clark and Chelsea Grey. It's odd that point guards are not big names in the WNBA.

The team was selected by the USA Basketball Women's National Team Committee and approved by the USA Basketball Board of Directors. How to fix this? Clean house at both organizations. The Committee made bad choices and the Board was a useless rubber stamp. Then, replace the Committee members with NBA players. That's right, the men. The men without the petty jealousies and hatreds. The men who watch the WNBA. The men who are fans of this game. The men who have paid the WNBA's bills and salaries for the last 25 years. Those men will pick the best team to send to the Olympics.
