We sometimes saute everything then wrapped it (less frying cause the filling is already cooked). I think the original way is mixing all the ingredients then wrap it. You did great Mom Olga!

in phillippines we have so many type of lumpia like lumpia gulay(fried vegie)lumpia sariwa(fresh vegie)tuna lumpia(fish)but the original lumpia is the lumpia shanghai...tnx for embracing our filipino food....turon is our dessert...is made of fresh banana(saba)then u put some langka(jack fruits) in between of banana then wrap it in the lumpia wrapper then fried it then put a sugar syrup

good day again, one more thing, during frying kindly use small but deeper kettle, deep frying is better for lumpiang shanghai with raw meat, it turns out less oily and wellcooked after. thanks.

Crack an egg and use the slimy white fluid to use as a glue to paste the lumpia the last wrap, that’s how we use to make it firm wrap to stick good, even during frying it will not open or break. We use it to make TURON also.👍👏❤️🇺🇸🇵🇭

Well done, Mom Olga. Alright, Mr. "Masarap," as usual, is liking and enjoying the Turon!
Vanya is such a sweet boy and the most "outgoing" (extrovert) among his brothers!
Just a note: The way you make "Turon" is you cut the banana in half (lengthwise), then sprinkle BROWN SUGAR on the top of the banana (or roll the banana in BROWN SUGAR) before wrapping it. Once wrapped, the Turon is now ready for frying. I hope this helps in your future Turon cooking.
    Happy cooking!

To make the lumpia skin crispy, u have to deep fry it with at least half submerged in oil then flipping it to the other side for even cooking but before putting in the lumpia, the oil must be very hot.

If mama olya has deep medium size sauce pan fill that up with 1/3 of oil heat it up you can use bamboo stick or any wooden stick to test if the oil is hot or not if there is small bubbles coming up underneath the bamboo or wooden sticks thats the time you can add your item to fry. Remember pan frying is diff6from deep frying if you want a crispy and juicy lumpia them deepfry it coz thats should be pan frying is not advisable because it will result to saggy, oily and less crispy lumpia okay Andrei? For dipping sauce ypu can use venigar with lots of garlic, plain ketchup or sweet chili sauce or if you want hot you can use the sriratchat sauce.

    5:01 noted 📝
9:40 for a banana that big, split the banana into three, but do it down the length of the banana. then cut in half across the banana.
12:36 better if you put the turon in sugar before frying, but I hear some vendors put sugar while the turon is being fried. Also, brown sugar is best for this, as it leaves a more visible caramel layer on the turon.
13:12 Vinegar, preferably with garlic in it. Other good sauces for lumpiang Shanghai and lumipang toge are: sweet-and-sour, sweet chili, tomato ketchup, and banana ketchup. For lumpiang ubod, there's a peanut (not peanut butter) sauce. I don't recommend the soy ginger sauce because _it will be salty._
Okay, about _lumpia,_ These are spring rolls («Весенние рулетики») found in Indonesia and the Philippines. So this is really a _family_ of food. There are fried (_prito,_ «жареный» [like _lumpiang Shanghai, turon, lumpiang toge_]), and fresh (_sariwa,_ «свежий» [like _lumpiang ubod_]) varieties. The wrapper for lumpiang ubod is more pancake-like, and is probably the lumpia you talk about with your family.
Also, about the "masarap lami kaayo" thing, I agree with one of the commenters. I suggest you just stick to saying "masarap" because 1. not all Filipinos speak Visayan, so not all Filipinos will understand "lami," and 2. You need to say "kaayo" ("very") properly or people will just hear "kayo" ("you [all]"). It can sound like you're saying "you're all delicious!"

Nice job, Mama Olga making lumpia! I am sure it was yummy. Andrei, you know lumpia shanghai is a specific type of lumpia that is made with ground pork or ground chicken and shrimp, carrots, and other spices and vegetables, and is smaller than the regular size lumpia. So what your Mama cooked is chicken lumpia but it is not traditional lumpia shanghai. That's okay, basta masarap! There are many different styles of lumpia and you can find the recipes online!
