John Lewis adverts aren’t what they once were. Used to get so excited for them but nothing can compete with Hare & the Bear, boy waiting for Xmas, penguins and the snowmen!
Thanks you soo much for Electric Dreams. My missus lived for Christmas, would watch the movies for months prior and was like a child over the period with her excitement. Unfortunately she passed away this year after 15 yrs together, at the age of 32, making me dread the upcoming Christmas holidays. Electric Dreams was our song, I had it played at her funeral and although I had to watch the ad through tears the first time, everytime I now rewatch it, probably 30 times already, the amazing rendition just reminds me of her and how much she loved Christmas. RIP my Janine, love you forever and this ad just makes me believe you're still looking over me. XX Would love to see this as Christmas no1 would be so very special
The best advert by John Lewis was Monty the penguin and rabbit and bear :) Both make me want to cry. Rabbit and bear reminds me of my old primary school head teacher who sadly passed away, it never fails. To make me tear up and smile thinking about him. Rest in peace
This was a really nice story, but if it was me, I would've shown the events of the two meeting leading up to Christmas. Then maybe on Christmas eve, he sneaks out of bed to go see her & his little sister, who gave him the look the night before, notices & follows. She catches her brother & the alien in the woods, and runs back to wake her parents. When he gets home, you think he's in trouble, but they really just smile & tell him to invite her for Christmas dinner, as she shouldn't be alone. Then in the end, she's sitting happily at the table, passing the family the potatoes by levitating it or doing something cool! Then they all stand and wave her off in the garden as she heads back to space.
Didn't give me Xmas vibes. The Alien should've been at the Xmas dinner table doing weird alien stuff and the family all loving it! Felt a little cold that the Alien kept getting left alone in the woods 🤷♂️
