That new clutch ain’t gonna work sitting in the box collecting dust
Right!
I’m working up the motivation to do the job, it’s hot as hell outside and I’m old 😵💫🤷🏻♂️🤣
I was trying to get you all riled up, but it looks like I failed. I feel your pain. I’m getting old too.
The clutch will take care of those low numbers! Thanks Rodney!!
Not even worried about the numbers..can barely tell you what any of my cars made in the 5-6 trips I’ve made but I can tell you their et’s 😉🤙🏻🤙🏻🤣
Second run you can literally see that clutches soul leave the building 😂. You need some stick-um on those rollers
It left most of its soul at atmore and I’ve been eating away at it till the rollers 🤣
Tire slip on the wheels. Not even close. Let the time slip talk. Best 3 pedal driver on the Weber net!
It’s blowing through the clutch more than anything. I bet the clutch is glazed pretty bad by now; Rodney knows it needs to be changed just hasn’t done it yet. 😉
Great to have an opportunity to hang out with Johnny and his crew. Good turn out. Awesome to see Foxbodys at the dyno with different builds. I had my 92 GT put down 318hp 299tq N/A.
It’s like you said, you really don’t care about the numbers, track is what matters, still cool to have a dyno vid, and goofing off with the boys 🙏
Awesome video Rod!!! 🇺🇸💪🏼 Silver car is keeping the HP #s a secret 😂 I know it has to be making atleast 360-370 to the wheel
About time you put that stage 15 clutch in!!😂
Hopefully stg 15 is the number of #’s of boost it’ll hold 👀🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@5.0tussin 🤣🤣
305 RWHP with a slipping clutch isn’t too shabby. You’ll get it one day (a cooler day) 👍🏻
It was garbage honestly but not unexpected knowing the clutch was dusted…I’d estimate it’s in the low 400 range based on what it ran@weight..nearly 106 in the 1/8th takes a little steam 🤔
It's all good man. You'll bring it back around. You always get the kinks worked out.
When you get the new clutch installed and eliminate the slip, get the AF gauge fixed and get the ratio right, you should be making at least 320 to 340. This is pretty much where you would expect to be! Actually, looking okay.😅
It made 311 a few years ago NA with a different cam/intake and smaller headers🤔…running 6.50’s@105+ at 2800ish race weight(leaving off the clutch, be faster off the 2-step/boost) is well above 320/340…again dyno numbers don’t matter but without checking the online calculators it’s in the 400 range I’d guess🤷🏻♂️…gotta get the clutch deal changed and try again 😵💫
It will make 100 more HP with a fresh clutch. That thing is toast.
We went into it knowing the numbers would be most likely compromised but it is what it is, had a good time and I honestly don’t care what my junk does on the dyno number wise, that stuff holds no value to me 🤙🏻
Hanging with friends, nothing better.
4 cylinder fox down? Looks like it's been sitting for a bit.
Yeah, had fun for sure…4cyl just sitting, daughters not in it yet and I’m not driving a 2.3/auto…🖕🏻that🤣
My afr gauge quit on dyno day this past weekend aswell, what a time to go
I have terrible luck with AFR sensors 🤨🤓😝
End of the day.....you got good friends on your side. 🤙
Oh yeah, the dyno stuff/numbers don’t matter to me, had fun just hanging out 🤙🏻🤙🏻
305 blistering the tires..WIN! 🤣☕️👊🏻
It made 410 torque that's not bad
Hate you didn’t get to see the full potential! We don’t dyno our stick cars for the very reason of causing premature wear on the clutch. Hopefully the new clutch will get you where you wanna be brother!
Thanks for the video 5.0!
Thanks for the view🤙🏻
I would've seen 425 t the tire. But! Get the clutch done and prove to us that the Silver Hatch is the highest horsepower monster in the fleet. I wanna see that 6.50 in the 1/8 being a thing
Bit sounds good!
Dang. Hate I messed around and missed dyno day. I wanted to bring our big block F150 down.
All good
Jesus christ this thing sounds pissed for sure huh .
Trailer ride got him all bent outta shape 👀🤣😵💫
305 with a blower is crazy
6.57@105 with 305 is even crazier😉🤣
I'm wondering if the efi is causing problems, unlike carbs. It just seems like carbs have fewer problems, in my opinion
Efi making to much steam🤣🤣🤣
@@5.0tussin must probably need the mtn dew kick. Lol
Chassis dyno numbers are almost meaningless. The loaded time of those runs are less than 1 second! There's just no possible way to accurately measure horsepower or torque in that short amount of time. I know this because I used to own a dyno jet. We would put freeway gears in cars just to increase the amount of loaded time on the machine. It definitely helped but I never felt there was anything accurate about the numbers . We made increases using that machine although I never put much stock in the actual numbers.
Not sure what kind of vehicles you had strapped to your dyno, but I used to work at a shop that had a DynoJet dyno as well, and we always made pulls for way longer than a second.
That said, we used the dyno as a tuning tool. The HP & torque numbers were always secondary.
@@joeb9793 the pulls Rodney just made were less than 1 second. It depends on the weight of the drum as well. 500hp will take longer to spin up than 1000hp will . Gearing also has a major effect on that amount of time( you realize this when you pick up 80hp with a gear change). This is the problem with ALL inertia dynos. They're more of a tool for making money than actual performance improvement . That's why I now own a engine dyno.
Again, I have used a DynoJet chassis dyno for years. Have never had a pull last one second or less, unless something broke, or the vehicle was equipped with a badly slipping clutch. It didn’t matter what vehicle was strapped down, whether it made 200HP or 2,000+HP.
Just my humble experience.
300 hp is about right 5 to 6 psi keep up the hard work brother
It made 311 NA 5 yrs ago on the same dyno so we’re a wee bit off, clutch was just frying out of it as we thought it would..dyno #’s don’t win races anyways 🤣
@@5.0tussin I didn’t realize it was 311 NA.
Rowdiest 305hp i ever heard😂
🤣🤣🤣yup, buncha noise🤪
There is a 93 GT setting in the garage of the house Ive been living in for 6 years. All stock, untouched, the owner wont let go of it, says he's going to fix it up one day, which he wont, he has no interest in it or cars. I have known him for 20 years at least.
Dang..just goes to show that cars are still out there 👀🤔
It’s the socks Rodney…..
Damn, who knew they killed clutches??🧦🧦🧦🤣
I bet clutch and wheel spin is killing 100hp and 100ftlbs! That things mean!
where is 79beans @??? new cam and no dyno?
Be proud of what you have there Rodney not many have a 450+ foxbody.
😅
He couldn’t make it…need him to get some track time in🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻…we only got 305 man! 🤓🤣😜😉
@@5.0tussin 😁....🤫...😴😴😴😴😴. u should be excited to launch that mofo!!! found a set of new Z304 heads I'm getting the geometry set up right now for my little 174 build.. I'm wanna be a member of club big boost!!! wonder what will come next for me too.. possibly a clutch etc? ... most definitely.
Tried to tell ya to put the new clutch in....but, nooooooo....SMH
I don’t think people understand that it makes more then 305 it’s not gonna run 6.60 making that low of hp
Was that third gear slipping pulls? Always dynoed mine in 4th t-45 and t-3650. Maybe t-5s are different???
4th..like always…Johnnys been running a dyno/tuning for probably close to 25+ years, made my first pull with him in 2008🤙🏻
I see. Clearly it’s clutch:45. Keep up the good fight.
305 HP... Ugh. What's your neighbor's car? Is that a 52 Buick? Does he have a youtube channel? :):):):)
It’s just a number 🤷🏻♂️..and not one that I care about, I basically just went to hang out and help make it worth Johnnys while with car count, he’d stay there all day with us if we wanted to so I got no problem dropping some coin in his pocket even knowing my stuff will “probably” be garbage on the rollers..no idea on the Buick, ole guy passed and his kids fiddle with it once a year or so 🤷🏻♂️
Woooooohoooooo!!! Maybe you oughta change the name to club little boost after 305rwhp?
Woooohoooooo! Nah, change it to club📀clutch slip….besides we’re just using ALL 305hp to run nearly 106 in the 1/8th😉🤣
Nice car bro! What’s your fuel pressure set it with the 42 pounds injectors?
Low 40’s…
What gear are the pulls in? 4th gear?
Yes
Didn’t even sound like dude was in the correct gear making the dyno pull
Only been running a dyno for 25+ years…go thru these comments every time we go there🤓
The AFR and voltage gauge quit working because it’s mad you trailered it
Very true…voltage came back to life but I’ve had horrible luck with AFR stuff in the past 😧🤷🏻♂️
Nice shirt lmao
🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Those was clutch limited numbers i would think
Made 311 NA 5yrs ago so yeah we were losing a few horses between the flywheel and trans 🤓🤣
Not a bad number to be spinning tires and the clutch. Whats wrong with that flat trunk till green stang. Do you want to sell it.
Not even worried about if it made 305 405 or 505hp..et’s are the only # I look at…coupe is for my daughter to drive🤙🏻
@@5.0tussin I have 4 already my yard looks like yours. And mine are for my 4 girls also.🤘
Kev dog
Did me a solid🤙🏻..I would’ve drove it but this way we got to ride together and shoot the crap there and back, usually I’m on his trailer for bad reasons 🤣
That dyno doesn’t appear to be loading up at all? That’s not going to give accurate results, yours just essentially free spooling up. Buzzing the tyres or not it’s not right. Anyway proofs in the slip! Bring on the 351w????
We go thru this type of comment everytime we go to Johnnys dyno, he’s been running dynos for nearly 25+ years, made my first pull with him in 2008 and yes the numbers have been backed up multiple times with my own stuff based on what they ran/run @ weight vs the numbers we’ve gotten from him..he just doesn’t feel the need to load the crap out of the dyno like some operators do, the computer does all the work anyways, Johnnys is known to be stingy also..Kyle made 500 at Triple X in Pensacola in much cooler weather, made 485 in the heat this day..well within range🤷🏻♂️
Yeah well that’s fair enough if the numbers stack up against et and mile per hour. It just seems really odd, especially to how we dyno in Australia.
The silver car is making more than 306 horse power. If the clutch was right i think it would have been at least 340 h.p .
6.57s would show over 400 hp eaay...clutch was awful at the track and it did not heal itself...lol
I tell ya, it would be 800 if everything would hold
Right….
@@aaronliddell4280 you can't say for sure!
450+ I would think...800, not even close...the block would split at 500....
@@michaelkrebs1118 this is simply not true I have had many 302s make more then 500whp and I have only cracked one block in half around 500whp the head factory 9333pt head gaskets start to push themselves out but my car has survived at 500whp for years losing only the ocational headgasket when I get greedy.
@@toddmccarter45 I actually can say for sure. Among a zillion other reasons, that V-1 head unit isn’t capable of flowing enough air to support an 800 hp #. The end.
He try to roll into it?
It would not have helped with this clutch....lol
No reason to, was a crap shoot if it’d hold, could smell it a hair going on the rollers, just helping out the group with car count for Johnny, could care less what it made, time slips not dyno sheets are what I worry about 🤙🏻
OK FIRST!!
your losing a lot power through that clutch sliping so i would say at 350-340hp
His na cars made that
Liar liar....talking about dyno....lol
