Just had the weirdest experience with a hitting coach that I had my 10-year-old go to. My son has 2 bats. One is a 29-inch drop 13 with a 2 5/8 barrel and the other is a 28-inch drop 11 with a 2 1/4 barrel. My son always swings late. The first thing the hitting coach did was tell my son to take his shoe off and put his foot on the opposite forearm. The guy said that if the foot is longer than the forearm then my son has short arms and visa versa. My son was the opposite. Longer forearm than the foot. The coach said that he should have a shorter bat than generally recommended and slightly heavier and recommended a 28-inch drop 10 and 2/5/8 if he is playing with a USA Bat and a 2/3/4 barrel with a USSSA bat and he should choke up a little bit. He also recommended other things to help him not be late but have nothing to do with bat sizing. I am not sure if this is nonsense or not but my son is hitting the ball better.

Last time i ever picked up a bat was like 2013 in sophomore year in high school, decided to pick up a new bat and start ripping up the cages again, good video. Forgot a lot of the small things about the game like bat sizing LOL

@@NorthernBaseballTraining yea it really is, i was always a contact hitter to batting lead off or second, heard two piece bats are good for that but tbh i went with a one piece bc that’s all i’ve ever used xD plus a little cheaper

@@johnnywebster4417 I can certainly, there plenty of kids in my sons 10-9 LL that are newly my size (5’6). My son’s not there yet but lucky for him he got his height from his mom lol.

I feel like the biggest overlooked aspect of bat buying is swing mechanics. My 10 year old is the youngest on his team and swings the 2nd biggest bat. He's 4'10" and just shy of 75 lbs. He swings a 31", -8. He also swings a 30", -5 wood bat almost exclusively outside of games. Lots of one handed work and lots of focus on swing mechanics and timing. It blows my mind when I see 12 and 13 year old kids swinging -10 bats still and they can't figure out why they don't have power.
Ok so this will be my first year of playing baseball on a league and I’m 11 but when I will be playing I will be 12 but I just don’t know bc we looked at Walmart today and I did the test to see about the wait and length but I don’t know if that good enough
I’m 6’2 14 playing 15u and I’m not the strongest big guy but my bat speed and power u csnt figure out if I need to swing my 31 cat 9 or 33 meta -33 Tatis 23

New coach in Texas (Junior High - 7th & 8th) do they need to use a -3?
You'd have to look up your league or associations bat rules
hey! hi! quick question, i have this glove but i dont know if its for baseball of softball. uhm so how would i know if im using a baseball glove or a softball glove?
btw the glove is 12.5 inch and it is a basket glove

The biggest difference between baseball and softball gloves is that softball gloves have a much deeper pocket
