- Ep. 8 - Steeldive MM300 Mod - PART 2 - CHANGING THE DIAL
PART 2 !
So to recap Part 1, the stem broke within the movement as I attempted to open the watch and I had to open the movement inorder to remove the stem - done!
In this part, I have to replace the broken stem but due to the monobloc case, I only get 1 attempt to cut it just right!!
Stem size for MM300 from Steeldive is 16.7/8 mm!
As I complete the dial change with a nifty little change of chapter ring might I add, the movement decides to go for a spin and crashes!!
Watch the episode to see what happens!

The chapter ring removal and refit was interesting.....
Yeh it looked good, plus its worth showing how easy it is to do
Awesome Part 2 👍⌚️and the Reinserting of the New Stem seemed to release the Main Spring Tension hence the noise😮
Black Dial with the green Hulk chapter Ring actually looks great.👍
As for the Loupe for the second hand I think it’s a microscope my eyes would need for that job😂 Old Eyes are no good for this kind of work without some technological help🙏
Another Great Step by step Tutorial.Well done Sir👏👏👏⌚️
Yes exactly it sounded like that but as you can see it kept spinning. Doing some further digging it seems that the keyless works/hack mech were stuck. Its actually the first time Ive experienced this and it took a few hours of me just trying to figure this out!
@@just4themodderz37 Thanks for the reply Sir really appreciate you take the time to respond to your subscribers.
👏👏👏👍 Great Work to watch👍
Did you get my Email by the way🙏
Nice! Good info. What do you use to see what your working on? Are you wearing magnifying glasses or a desk mounted magnifier? I want to work on my watches but can't figure out how to see the movements. Subbed, keep em coming👍👍
Just my eyes
Nice to see your errors and how you fix them....it gives us hope that we can do it the same, hopefully with your hindsight and experience.
Hopefully you can learn from my mistakes!! Haha
"what the hell was that?!" at this part I didn't know whether to stress laugh or to facepalm, in the end, it turned out to be a really good look good job.
Nice move with the stem... now you can't get the mechanism out of the watch because the stem won't let it come out
Yes exactly, I had to literally lift and turn the movement while the stem was bending in order for me to hit that release lever 😅 close one
You’ve got some serious patience!! Not one I’d attempt but looks really good in the end 👍🏻
That was a thriller! Good job.
Have you tried to Mod the SteelDive SD1978 Emperor Tuna? It's also a Monobloc case. I think it might be easier to manipulate the caliber since the case is deeper than the M300 to remove the stem.
Thanks for this video , I have a steeldive on the way. I have a 62mas dial with the seconds indices on the dial. Do you need a chapter ring? And if you do, which seiko model chapter ring would you recommend? Thanks
Unless the stem is broken, or the movement is broken, do you ever need to remove the movement from this case, in order to do a dial swap? Can you not take the hands, then swap the dial, without worrying about removing the stem or the movement from the case?
hello again sir. any chances on showing how to properly change the crystal? i'm planning on changing to thinner crystal. not a fan of protruding crystal and if you don't mind sharing the size dimension of the original crystal. sorry if i'm bothering you.
For the steeldive marinemaster? Once you screw out the crystal, place into crystal press using correct die, measure and then use that measurement to determine what size crystal you need
@@just4themodderz37 yes sir steeldive mm300. duly noted and thank you very much for your quick reply.
