Oh god I wish I hadn't quoted $15 for a keyboard replacement before I looked this up.. ffs. Yeah I'm gonna be boycotting Lenovo for this.

It went OK.. keyboard wasn't broken, the owner had just plaited her power cable into an inductor by turning left every time she got off the couch with it. The resulting voltage drop was stopping the keyboard from engaging at the A and L keys on the first few presses.

in the other hand the palmrest is expensive to replace as whole
