Is there a way to install the OS on an external drive other than the built in emmc storage? 32gb is too low. Can't downgrade it to win7 and I've tried even compressing the drive, i am still left with around 4gb after installing very minimal apps.

First of all try insert usb in other ports, also test other usb if its working or not, restart also laptop or pc may solve basic problem. Next try to bend the usb metal in the center like v shape pero kunti lang then try. Next is to buy usb assuming its stop working for no reasons

Delete all partition and try but you will lose all data

thanks for this comment, initially i use rufus to format it as mbr and it didnt detect changing to gpt/fat 32, and it detects the usb! good day sir!
It's sad to admit that I've been trying this for years and never managed to get it to detect my windows install off of my pen drives. I bought it at launch but it's so useless because windows is so heavy and I wanted to try linux or just a fresh install but this made it look so easy. I'll update later if it works.

@@shazreennorsham9216 Yes! I hosted a minecraft server on it. Worked like a charm. However, the internal, non serviceable storage died on me so it no longer functions.

What key are you using to delete partitions to make one partition

Thankyou i had no external mouse just a external usb keyboard but found using the key 2 keys below the esc button and tapping it i was able to navigate my way through the options to delete it with also the arrow keys, i then was able to install windows then install the audio platform driver to get all my cursor keyboard and sound and touchpad bk thankyou for ypur video as i was completely stuck with this until i seen this then was able to work it out

What software did you use? Rufus is advertisable, make sure to turn off secure boot and change boot settings , play the settings,

do i need an external keyboard?
Yes. The drivers are not recognised until you can install them from Lenovo’s website. Once booted into an installed copy of Windows, switch to a mouse (this will make navigating way easier)

If you can try external monitor to verify then try. If output os ok then chances lcd is broken. You could also try reconnect flex connector

Wenn USB im BIOS nicht angezeigt wird, muss man bei cmd diskpart eingeben list volume und zum Buchstaben wechseln von USB Stick, danach Buchstabe und dir z.b G:/ dir, dann einfach die setup.exe ausführen (eingeben) don't delete my message🤗

@@wayneslink If USB is not displayed in the BIOS, you have to enter in cmd diskpart list volume and switch to the letter from USB stick, then letter and dir e.g. G: / dir, then simply run setup.exe (enter)

What if you don't know system password
Remove cmos battery for couple of hours, see if it resets. Standard password is 12345, 1234,

Bios password usually 1234 or 12345 or 0000 in case you forget you may need to remove bios battery and leave for hours to reset settings, in the case bios is still there, you may need software for that, check manufacturers websites unit

Download the iso windows then download also rufus insaller, pretty simple to use
