In my opinion, this is the single greatest Aizen scene in the series and fully embodies him as a character - but what do you think? Is there a better Aizen moment? Maybe he's just overrated as a character in general? Let me know!
Concerning Aizen's "morality", I think he is a true Ubermensch, someone who considers both conventional good and evil, conventional morality, equally beneath him in his pursuit of his own, grand goals. Tosen even says something similar in CFYOW (that Aizen sees good and evil both meaningless compared to justice), and Aizen's speech about "how the world should be" to Urahara further cements this. I'm an Aizen fan as well Mr. Tommo. You know you have a great villain when their name is added into the Urban dictionary as term for being overpowered. All hail, Lord Aizen
My favorite moment is by far his ascension to Hueco Mundo and of course his, "I alone will sit at the top," speech. Tommo, I'm curious, what's your opinion of Jujutsu Kaisen? It's the only anime in a long while that's scratched the Bleach itch. Maybe a top 10 list of Bleach alternative animes?
l like the one where he talks to ichigo about the distance between them, with acertain part being "....if l just move my hand, l can touch yo chest" ending with him seemingly teleporting right next to ichigo to touch him Dude is just so good at flexing. Distance is meaningless
His reveal as a villain at the end of The Soul Society Arc it's in my opinion his best moment because as he go on telling plot twist from plot twist my heart was melting.
One of the best moments in bleach in this entire fight. Everyone vs. Aizen lol It’s so good I paused this video to go on crunchyroll just to watch this specific episode
My Aizen theory is that he doesn’t have a Bankai and used his Shikai to trick the Gotei into thinking he had one and was captain material. His inability to attain Bankai partly fuels his desire for power and controlling everything. But this isn’t due to lack of strength or mastery, but that his Zanpakuto’s spirit is just as trolly and sadistic as he is and won’t teach him it’s name.
Imo aizen does have one but it’s situational like shinji’s one is, kubo will probs wait till the end of bleach to reveal it same with ichigo’s new Bankai
To be fair, Aizen did trick everyone into thinking Kyoka Suigetsu's shikai was water related, he could have easily done the same for his captain's exam and his bankai
Lets also not forget that Ichigo wasn't under the illusion. Which means that if Aizen and Momo did switch places that Ichigo saw the whole thing and didn't say anything until it was too late.
Honestly there's a pretty easy way to explain how he knows so much, considering his Zanpaktuō's ability.. he was probably able to stay in the same room with anyone he pleased, invisible to them.. gathering an untold amount of information. Very fitting ability for a puppet master who hides behind the scenes. Aizen, probably knows more about you than you do yourself. Lol
From stopping the main character’s theme music with a finger to killing multiple enemies well sitting down (if I remember correctly he was also restrained), this man is a menace. Even after all these years with all the anime and manga I have checked out he still stands as one of my favorite villains, I hope the anime adaptation of the TYBW arc gives him the respect he deserves.
Completely agree with you: It's the best moment, of the best character. Love the thorough way you explain everything and your passion for the series a lot mate. Subbed!
I remember reading this chapter and being angry at the captains like “you guys are going all in on a guy who can freely manipulate you senses, you’re gonna get wiped somehow.” I didn’t see the Momo switch coming so that was a pleasant surprise but she should’ve died. At the end of his war the only lasting effect he had was The head captain losing an arm. And on top of that Toshiro put everything he had into that strike he had to because he was trying to kill Aizen, the man who one-shotted him back in the soul society so there’s no way he would hold back. And you’re telling Momo, who got wrecked by the chimera guy like 10 minutes earlier in the story could tank a stab to the heart? She should have died and Toshiro should of had to live with killing her, and possibly been a great spring board to make him a much more interesting character.
Well thats if you think of aizens battle record he didn't do much but what he did do was make a whole new race called arrancar and he fused soul reaper and hollow to ascend his realm
ya it feels pretty hard to believe she could tank so much & keep her life. definitely would've made a great spring board of some soul searching introspection-ish for Toshiro after this was all blown over
Well it goes to show how impressive Orihimes healing abilities are, also it makes sense if he was aiming at Aizens hearts he’d have aimed higher than he would’ve for Momo, so him missing it would make total sense. As it was just a simple stab.
@@calebcollins5887 problem with a stab by a Zanpakuto from a Soup Reaper, or anyone really, Is that they pump their spiritual pressure into you through the wound. So Bankai Toshiro should have been pumping as much of his icy reiatsu into that stab as possible. Hinamori should have had her organs pulverized and her spritual energy thoroughly crushed. The only reason her surviving Aizen's stab is acceptable is that he was holding back to his absolute limit, trying to kill without utterly trashing them. Like he tells Renji: "It's hard to step on ants without crushing them." So we can infer he simply misjudged the amount of reiatsu needed to kill Hinamori. Toshiro has no such excuse.
The best Aizen scene is him being killed by Gin because it forces Aizen to grapple with the idea that someone exists who is smarter than him although he would never admit it.
I will always hold that this moment would have been even more crazy if Aizen revealed the Espada were still alive and they were fighting weaker illusions of them to tire the Gotei out. Still extremely iconic though.
I love this scene and a massive fan of Aizen. The biggest problems I had with the logistics for this were: 1. Ichigo is right there the whole time, if they are attacking nothing whats he being quiet for? Maybe it was too fast for him but still 2. Wasn't Hinnomari inside a barrier that Izuru threw up? That means Aizen passed through the barrier to grab her at some point 3. Aizen's Shunpo must be insane to make the jump from wherever he is to grab her, position her and move back to his position all without Ichigo noticing or interacting.
Yeah man I completely agreed that this chapter was “thee” defining moment of Aizen’s Bad Assary as a villain when everyone fought him and easily beaten them all at once without as much as breaking a sweat, well maybe just a little sweat 😓, hence why it’s also my favorite Aizen moment what amazes me about this was the fact that during this entire time in particular he was still in his base form Shinigami Captain form.
I just want to say that I appreciate your content so much!! Bleach is one of my favorite shows of all time and it’s great to see you give the show the attention it deserves. Keep up the good work!!
I still think about what this whole situation looked like from Ichigo’s POV and whether Hinamori was conscious when it happened or if she was under a different illusion
It's difficult for me to choose between this one and his stand off with Shinji. Their dialog before they actually clash was awesome. And explains Aizen's nature perfectly.
Without a doubt! I hadn't read the manga and experienced Bleach from episode 1 until the end. Aizens betrayal of everyone in this arc left me with mouth agape, and having "NO" idea what is going to happen next. I was shocked. I agree having no foreshadowing of his true motive was awesome. Basically he had all of us under his hypnosis.
I’ll never forget Ichigo trembling, panting, and confused just screaming what the hell are you guys doing. Something about that scene hits differently like you feel like all hope is lost. And then of course Aizen flexing genuinely one of my favorite scenes in anime.
I think the best explanation for how he swapped with Hinamori would be a Kido of some kind that involves teleportation. It would explain why 'Momo' stood up after 'Aizen' was stabbed, because it was Aizen having swapped with her. As for how he did it without the others knowing, his Hypnosis would work. As for why it was Hinamori that got swapped in, I think it's because she was his Vice-Captain. He could have implanted the Kido into her without anyone knowing at any time when in Soul Society, or even during the Battle of Karakura Town, since he spent a fair amount of time not in battle. It could even be a contingency measure, just like the kido shield he placed in his blind spot that blocked Ichigo's surprise attack.
I agree with you this is also my favourite moment of aizen and this scene solidified him as my favourite antagonist in animanga he is just too good and godly🐐
dude you GOTTA mention what he said to ichigo too. sooo iconic how he tried to get into his head and also revealed so much about himself when he said "youre fighting out of misplaced responsibility. you arent motivated enough. a fighting spirit without hatred is like an eagle without wings. you have the will, but you dont have the tools to do the job. you cannot protect anything with that.". brought ichigo nearly to his knees.
As someone who has known and observed bleach for years, but only become a proper dab and gone through the anime this year, one of my favourite aspects of Aizen was just how well he played the meek persona in soul society. If I didn't already know all the big twists about him in advance, because his can you not when he's one of the anime greats, I can totally see how he had people fooled. He was so sweet. So kind. So gentle. And he was suspicious of all the people that the plot was telling us to be suspicious of, and supporting the people who were on the side of the plot. He was basically Maes Hughes. And the he turns out to be the main villain of the series. And he does it so well. If I didn't already know the truth, I would have believed his lie completely.
Aizen blocking Ichigo's Bankai with a finger, his "when do you think I wasn't using Kyoka Suigetsu?" line, and saying "welcome to *my* Soul Society." to who is effectively the God of the universe now, are not just absolutely great Aizen moments, but amung the best villain moments in all of fiction.
i couldnt agree more, ever since aizens betrayal, i was a fan, and then this moment, blew my mind, and even when i watched it in the anime the music was amazing. i had a fanboy moment😂 aizen has to be my favorite anime villain of all time
Idk if it was a mistranslation but I remember reading Histugayas shouting "I'll kill you with my violence" felt so powerful. Like he's going to murder him with an abstract term
Really wish the Arrancar amounted to a more significant group in how they affected the world and the other characters. The Espada sort of just get squashed, making for 300 or so chapters of hyping into a lot of nothing. It leaves me wondering what Aizen's plan even was. Supposed supergenius doesn't really have an upper hand against the Shinigami, especially the Zero Division.
I knew it would be the "since when were you under the impression I wasn't using KS" moment! It really was the most memed Aizen quote, providing inspiration for so many comments/replies back in the day

@@timurestik8681 never showing your true face is pretty mysterious. Sure Aizen helped the soul society against ywah but remember he killed everyone in the central 42 building and planned to sacrifice karakura town for the hogyoku. He still hasnt revealed his true calling to me. He willingly got back in the chair at the end. It's binding effect only seems to make him stronger with the hogyoku still inside him so he will sit there, in his cocoon, plotting and powering up.
@@themiddleman3060 Aizen could honestly carry his own spin-off series or novel, if Kubo ever wants to delve further into his character.
@@timurestik8681 He is very myterious imo bcuz his goal was to overthrow the soul king bcuz the Soul King is a fake god and just a mere puppet.Aizen basically wanted to become a conscious Soul King. So why did he wanted to become the Soul King? We all know that the Soul Society is corrupt.Did Aizen wanted to become the Soul King bcuz he wanted to create a better world or its just bcuz of his ego? The depth and complexity of his character is unmatched.
It may be me but I think you've been getting videos out more often. I really enjoy that you're doing it and can't wait to see you hit that big 100k mark
When you've explained how Aizen moved Hinamori and just moved there and back... you thought it was Aizen, but it was HIM! DIO!
Aizen was behind the events of Jojo too
One of the things that does set the mood up as well was when Shinji looks at Ichimaru and mentally mocks him. But while we see Ichimaru, it's from far away and not his face so we never see his expression. That was a clue into the situation.
"When did you think I wasn't using kyokasuigestu"
That line was badass
I'm an Aizen fan as well Mr. Tommo. You know you have a great villain when their name is added into the Urban dictionary as term for being overpowered. All hail, Lord Aizen
My favorite moment is by far his ascension to Hueco Mundo and of course his, "I alone will sit at the top," speech.
Tommo, I'm curious, what's your opinion of Jujutsu Kaisen? It's the only anime in a long while that's scratched the Bleach itch. Maybe a top 10 list of Bleach alternative animes?
Soul Eater definitely deserves a high spot on there. It literally embraces the theme of “Fear” and “Bravery” like Bleach does.
@@MichaelisBLee-nw8wy Soul Eater is my go to Halloween series to watch every October.
Black Clover gives me big Bleach vibes :)
l like the one where he talks to ichigo about the distance between them, with acertain part being "....if l just move my hand, l can touch yo chest" ending with him seemingly teleporting right next to ichigo to touch him
Dude is just so good at flexing. Distance is meaningless
Scratch the itch *. But ye, Jujutsu gives serious nostalgic bleach vibes
His reveal as a villain at the end of The Soul Society Arc it's in my opinion his best moment because as he go on telling plot twist from plot twist my heart was melting.
This is one of my favorite moments in all of anime/manga and I’ve read and watched hundreds of anime/manga
Aizen taking off his glasses and running a hand through his hair to instantly become evil is bar none the hardest panel in Bleach.
One of the best moments in bleach in this entire fight. Everyone vs. Aizen lol
It’s so good I paused this video to go on crunchyroll just to watch this specific episode
No one can approach this man’s swagger
in aizens defense she always wanted to be useful to him...
🤣 Savage but true
My Aizen theory is that he doesn’t have a Bankai and used his Shikai to trick the Gotei into thinking he had one and was captain material. His inability to attain Bankai partly fuels his desire for power and controlling everything. But this isn’t due to lack of strength or mastery, but that his Zanpakuto’s spirit is just as trolly and sadistic as he is and won’t teach him it’s name.
I like this theory.
Cuz his specialty is reiatsu.
He fully merged with his zanpaktou. Pretty sure he can use bankai.
But as another badass anime villain once said, What adult would fight seriously against a child
"welcome to my soul society" enough said
Props to the VA as well, that deep, sophisticated and calm voice perfectly represented his character
Hyped for a new video. Three videos in one week, now that’s a rare and awesome sight
Ichigo was straight up watching everyone rail on Momo
😆 🤣
A true gangbang
You did a great job retelling this event in your own way Tommo!
Lets also not forget that Ichigo wasn't under the illusion. Which means that if Aizen and Momo did switch places that Ichigo saw the whole thing and didn't say anything until it was too late.
One of the most perfect videos I've seen on this channel.
You truly spoke the most logical words on Aizen.
What a spectacular content ♥️♥️
Subbed!
It's hard not to kill ants when you step on them. That line was epic
My favorite moment is at the end of this fight when Aizen smiles during the to be continued mark. Wallpaper worthy I tell you
Aizen was totally ready to send Toshiro to Valhalla on the absolute banger of a note that he'd just stabbed his childhood friend in the sternum.
aizen is still care about hinamori, but he also care about toshiro. thats why he give toshiro a "mental training"
By far my favorite anime character
One of my favourite scenes
I agree
ya it feels pretty hard to believe she could tank so much & keep her life. definitely would've made a great spring board of some soul searching introspection-ish for Toshiro after this was all blown over
Well it goes to show how impressive Orihimes healing abilities are, also it makes sense if he was aiming at Aizens hearts he’d have aimed higher than he would’ve for Momo, so him missing it would make total sense.
I would love for Kubo to draw the fight all from Momo or ichigo's perspective. Seeing poor Momo fighting off the captains would be amazing
that’s literally what i wanna see 😭
I just want to note MrTommo just put up 300 likes without a single dislike you gotta be putting out good ass vibes for that to happen man
I knew you were going to take this scene, and I'm so glad you did. I love this scene, Aizen is such a troll
That would’ve been sick.
“You thought you were fighting the Espada? Fascinating.”
great video also yeah this was a great moment
I love this scene and a massive fan of Aizen. The biggest problems I had with the logistics for this were:
1. Ichigo is right there the whole time, if they are attacking nothing whats he being quiet for? Maybe it was too fast for him but still
2. Wasn't Hinnomari inside a barrier that Izuru threw up? That means Aizen passed through the barrier to grab her at some point
3. Aizen's Shunpo must be insane to make the jump from wherever he is to grab her, position her and move back to his position all without Ichigo noticing or interacting.
11:10 scary moment, felt like the speaker saw someone creeping up behind me lol
Aizen soloing all Captains is the best scene.
Have my upvote now but I will watch the video tomorrow after work, gotta go to sleep :x
It was during Gin's speech that a lot of us realized, he may not be a traitor...just a realist
I just want to say that I appreciate your content so much!! Bleach is one of my favorite shows of all time and it’s great to see you give the show the attention it deserves. Keep up the good work!!
my favorite thing about this scene is how a big part of the 13th opening shows pieces of the scene
The best Aizen scene is when they first show him sitting on chair sama
I still think about what this whole situation looked like from Ichigo’s POV and whether Hinamori was conscious when it happened or if she was under a different illusion
It's difficult for me to choose between this one and his stand off with Shinji. Their dialog before they actually clash was awesome. And explains Aizen's nature perfectly.
Top 5 Aizen moments
From the moment my man took off his glasses nd slicked back his hair i was sold on him being my fav character
Man I love this channel it’s top 5 for me
"Any betrayal you can see is trivial. What is truly frightening and far more lethal, is the betrayal you cannot see."
Well done.
I’ll never forget Ichigo trembling, panting, and confused just screaming what the hell are you guys doing. Something about that scene hits differently like you feel like all hope is lost. And then of course Aizen flexing genuinely one of my favorite scenes in anime.
Your commentary at 11:11 was beautiful! 😭
Tommo you bringing my love for bleach back bro! Lol
i couldnt agree more, ever since aizens betrayal, i was a fan, and then this moment, blew my mind, and even when i watched it in the anime the music was amazing. i had a fanboy moment😂 aizen has to be my favorite anime villain of all time
More Aizen content! Woot woot!!
Idk if it was a mistranslation but I remember reading Histugayas shouting "I'll kill you with my violence" felt so powerful. Like he's going to murder him with an abstract term
One of my favorite Aizen quotes is "reason exists for those, Who need to rely on it to survive"
22:30 all while Ichigo watch’s him do all that hahahahahaha
I knew it would be the "since when were you under the impression I wasn't using KS" moment! It really was the most memed Aizen quote, providing inspiration for so many comments/replies back in the day
100% agree with you on this one. It showed that he really is a different caliber
Aizen will always be one of the best character in bleach
