      Christopher Wilson idk. Lots of things were never stated in this manga/anime since the ending was rushed. For example, Kubo never even showed whether or not Kisuke was alive at the end of the story. You think if he had lived it would have been stated but it wasn’t until the light novels came out earlier. How come Yoruichi can use a cat transformation? Oh that was never stated either. See there are lots of specific things in this story that are never stated and only invite speculation. I for one can totally see Urahara being a member of royalty - It would explain how he was so knowledgeable on the topic of the spirit king and any other related issues as well.

      Kisuke seems to act like a bit of a goofball, but hes ambiguous and theres obviously something hes hiding, and it gets to a point where you kinda wonder if he is the villain behind the SS arc, if he isn't actually your friend, even though he served as a mentor for Ichigo.
      Aizen is a kind man, someone who is well known for his kindness and his refined skill. He is also a teacher and has served as a mentor to many of the lieutenants that were a part of the Gotei, and seemed to be an innocent victim when hes "murdered".
      Yet, rather than Kisuke being the villain the entire time, Kisuke is the victim of Aizens villainy. Something you would never have guessed by your first impressions of the two. Its after Aizens reveal that things become more clear. Aizen is smug and somewhat arrogant, though not without reason, and can be extremely cold. Kisuke is a bit of a goof and can actually be quite modest. Hes confident in his abilities but he is overly cautious and aware that even he can fail, despite the fact that he does his best to ensure he never does again. One is fine with serving the current system, knowing it keeps everything in place and allows survival and life, while the other wishes to change things and creating his own system anew.

    I think that despite Ichigo being the protagonist, Urahara is the hero behind the veil. Ichigo was always just a calculated tool that Urahara utilized and that’s why he initially gave Ichigo his powers. Additionally, most of the arcs’ antagonists wouldn’t have been defeated had it not been for Urahara. He’s the puppeteer, the wizard the behind the curtain.

    Is it just me or does Kisukes Bankai seem more fitting for Shutara?
    Also interesting that Kubo said he wanted to draw Kisuke, Yoruichi, and Tessais past, its really downplayed but it seems lie Tessai is just as close to Kisuke as Yoruichi
    also this is a really interesting quote from the afterword from CFYOW;
    "-When Matsubara-san and I heard the story of Urahara and Yoruichi directly from Kubo-sensei, we immediately told him, "Kubo-sensei must draw this someday!" "We want to read it in manga form!""

      Yeah, Tessai's probably one of the top tiers in the show, seeing as he's matched by Aizen and has trained with Kisuke and Yoruichi. Kubo also planned out Isshin/Squad 10's backstory in more depth.

    I think Mayuri and Aizen see Kisuke as someone that's 'betrayed' them, rather than seeing him as smarter, I think it's more the 'focus' of their drives, Mayuri is as smart as the other two, but he seems to lack their drive/focus, Aizen was only focused on making himself stronger than the other shinigami, Kisuke pulled a batman and thought about how to resolve that situation. Also, Urahara definitely had less eyes on him than the other two

    Sajin Komamura. I know he isn't the most popular character in the series by any means, but he's been my favorite since his introduction. That said, he definitely got the short end in the since his fight in the Thousand Year Blood War. Though he has so much more depth than people give him credit for. He was the first to jump in (and get his ass kicked) by Aizen when the dude was in the middle of revealing his master plan.
    The man (or the anthropomorphic wolf dude turned human temporarily) goes from being incredibly calm, loyal, and wise to sometime having fits of passionate anger.
    Also, his special attack in Brave Souls and hearing him yell, "Kokujo Tengen Myo-oh... Dangai Joe!" gave me chills the first time I heard it. Though I'm biased. I love his Bankai.

    It may not be spelled out, but I always thought Benihime's power in shikai was pretty clear. Since Kisuke is the master manipulator of the series, his shikai allows him to manipulate energy as he sees fit, which his bankai takes to the nth degree by letting him manipulate anything. Here's a theory from my friend on how Urahara became the master of the Hogyoku before Aizen:
    Aizen back in the Turn Back the Pendulum (TBTP) arc manipulated Urahara into using his hogyoku to treat the Vizards. In chapter 401 Aizen said he knew back when Urahara tried to reverse the hollowfication of the vizards that it's power wasn't to control the boundary between hollow and shinigami, because if it was they wouldn't become complete vizards. He doesn't explain why they wouldn't become complete vizards if the Hogyoku's power was to completely control the boundary between hollow and shinigami, but it's probably due to the fact that if it did Urahara would have simply reversed the hollowfication and turned the vizards back into regular shinigami. Reversing the hollowfication is what Urahara wanted to do anyway as he said so in TBTP Arc.
    With the Hogyoku's true power, the wish granting, I'm guessing that wouldn't be possible, because that power is limited by the power of the soul it's changing. Urahara knew the Hogyoku's true power wasn't manipulating the boundaries between the two races. So what would he do experiment in the next 100 years from TBTP arc? Experiment to figure out it's power. There's a hint that this happened in chapter 402, Aizen said that Urahara couldn't control the Hogyoku. Urahara says "That's right. At the time."
    So what does it take to control the Hogyoku? Ginjo in chapter 432 explains that all matter has souls and that with tools you've grown accustomed to, you can demonstrate a greater power than your usual self with it. When that happens he says you've understood the soul of tool. He explains that the souls of things are equipped with the ability to help their users by nature. So to control the Hogyoku he has to understand the soul of it through becoming accustomed to it, so he had to use it.
    So how did Urahara know that the Hogyoku was alive? He probably figured the Hogyoku was alive the same way Aizen did. In chapter 401 Aizen said to Isshin "I'm saying the Hogyoku has a mind of it's own." "I don't fault you for not realizing it, I only realized the truth about the Hogyoku after I became it's master." There's evidence in chapter 421 Urahara knew the Hogyoku had a mind, Aizen said his power was disappearing and Urahara replied "That's...the will of the Hogyoku." If Urahara knew the Hogyoku has a will, he knew it has a mind. How did he know the Hogyoku's will? Why would Aizen evolve, then lose his powers? Because Urahara was it's master at that moment, he willed that to happen.
    Urahara seemed to have known at the start of the battle Aizen would lose his powers. He explained to Aizen in chapter 421 he shot a kido seal with the level 90 kido into Aizen when he was the most vulnerable. He then said "it's finally activating", because Aizen's power had weakened. Urahara said in the same chapter "Hogyoku is saying...it doesn't recognize you as it's master." How would he know Aizen's power would weaken and that it didn't recognize Aizen as master, because Urahara was the master.

    Kisuske never fighting in a 1v1 situation I think exemplifies two things, 1) He grew up around the 2nd division and the Stealth Force. He isn't interested in a fair fight or a fight at all like say the 11th. His goal is to kill his enemies and he will take any advantage to do so despite being one of the more powerful characters in Bleach. I think it also speaks to his intelligence and planning. He wants to leave nothing to chance and maximize his ability to succeed in a mission. Fight with multiple members against one opponent does that, especially when his main teammate specializes in incredibly fast attacks that can catch enemy off guard if they foolishly believe it is a 1v1.
    So personally I would have liked to see Kisuske fight more on his own to get a true gauge of his ability, it makes total sense why he would never choose to do so.

    • @Iam74YL0R
      @Iam74YL0R Год назад

      Also for Kisuske's shikai my head cannon is that it works similarly to his bankai but only with Reishi.
      While his Bankai can restructure anything made of Reishi into anything else including matter.
      I believe his shikai allows him to construct and deconstruct Reishi of anything his blade touches, within limits.
      This would explain his ability to nullify Yami's attack but also why Benehime is seen as incredibly versatile. We can see Benehime used to create a crimson barrier that has block a punch from Yami, as a well as Ichigo's Getsuga. We have seen it fight an arcing energy slash which appear to match Ichigo's Getsuga in destructive force. We have seen Kisuske use it to form a crimson red energy net that he uses to bind enemies as well as creating exploding orbs of energy. We have also seen him nullify a Cero.
      That is my personal head cannon, Benehime can construct and decontruct Reishi. It is limited and is catalyzed through the blade (meaning to deconstruct anything blade has to touch it and all constructed moves must be attack/original from the blade.)
      This would mean his Bankai is just a "power up" allowing for the construction/deconstruction to happen within an area of effect and rather than limiting construction to just energy, he can construct/restructure Reishi into physical matter as well.

    The most interesting aspect about him is his moral ambiguity imho. There are theories that he was going to be the last true big bad and a shade of this was in the light novel 'Can't Fear Your Own World' were he pleads with Yoruichi to punish him should he cross the line into outright villainy. She responded by threatening to snap his neck if he did, thus also highlighting the apparent falling out they had after the war. Yup, he's a deceiving badass but also humble in his own strange way.

      I kind of got a different vibe from their interactions in that scene. Kisuke stating that he felt Ichigo would the better option to stop him, because Yoruichi has a deeper bond with him. Kisuke says to her: "You're not impartial". He even states that she would be on his side no matter what anyone says. Yoruichi is exasperated by this, but she doesn't outright deny his statement. Sure, I do think them having some tension following the battle with Askin makes sense, but the fact that Yoruichi was willing to abandon her life in SS to save Kisuke and Tessai is a telling sign where her loyalty lies. Plus, they were going to go and help Ichigo together at the end of the novel.
