Thanks, Cool video. Zoom your browser out as far as you can, when you are satisfied with your setting. Then can get images with a lot more details in a wider area.
I've been able to do nearly all of this BUT when I go to actually engrave, it wants to engrave everything except the roads/water. How do I inverse that? Is it a step I missed early on in the video?(Ive watched it several times and done it several times and always the same issue). Thank you very much!
what format do you save this in. I saved as a plain svg and when i open in lightburn pulls in as an image and it wants to engrave the land not the roads. how do you pull this in as a vector
@@DIY3DTECHcom Using Inkscape 1.0.2, makes no difference which is selected first, still leaves a hole in the map. Layer selection has no effect, either, as there is only one layer. How to leave what is in the circle, not what is outside the circle???

In a wider area yes, however like the effect to mode offers. Guess it all depends on the effect one is looking for :-)

Genius!! Thank you!
You're welcome!
Great video but can you show us how to keep the street names that are printed on the roads? I like how I can do the lakes. Any help appreciated.

Just curious if you know how to do this, but have the roads and water in a separate layer?
i can't get the darker parts on a image to show how do i go about that
When I go to Path > Difference it only leaves me with everything around the circle.. and not the circle...
Try switching the order in which the objects are selected...
@@DIY3DTECHcom how is that done?
I had the same problem. I moved the layer. right mouse click then select move to layer
@@nicolekossen5721 Thanks

Great video. Is there a way to apply a heart shape onto the map vs. the circle you demonstrated?

When you're tracing the bitmap, try to deselect "Smooth corners" and "Optimize".
Is this done with a Ortur Laser Master?
Yes...
How to open create new maps ?
there seems to be a pop up when you first go in, and it asks if you want to go to the old wizard site...that one looks like the tutoria
I wonder how this will look on a coin. Hmmm....
Great video, but I think this method breaks Google's user agreement
How relevant is this a year later? It almost seems like this is a paid for service when I click the link.
Yeah, doesn’t work…
Jeez, can you say 'then I'm going to' any more. Unwatcheable.
