Man, I’ve been following you since the sailboat days. I’ve watched the haters come and go. You make excellent content and I appreciate it. Keep up the awesomeness, man!
I've been spear fishing here in Hawaii for years. I'd have to suggest fins and some weight. Even shorty fins will keep you more stable. I would also go to a Hawaii Sling instead of the gun at first.
Really well shot video! Jake has a great eye for cinematography! Now that most of the haters have moved on - maybe he can feel even more comfortable doing his own thing.
amazing footage! one of the coolest videos you've posted, I could watch hours of this underwater footage, super clear! What were those log formations underwater? Was that a 'raft' that sank? It looks like some kind of manmade structure or something? Amazing shots here!
Those are man-made fish cribs. Local residents and some DNR in both Wisconsin and Michigan create them. Hoping DNR will allow game fish to be included for spearfishing. About 15 years ago there were only 7 counties in Wisconsin you could spearfish, slowly it's becoming legal to do so in many counties. Nice footage jake! Grab some dive gear :)
Glad to see you out there on adventures still Jake. Not sure if that lake allows motorized boats but you should think about some diver cones to let them know you're in the area. Keep on trucking pal. 🍻
Great footage, can’t wait to see you get real handy with that spear and start snagging some big pike or catfish. As a former freshwater forager myself, those clear fresh lakes have some yuge crawfish and the inner almost-cajun in me loves to catch a pound or two to steam up for a spicy corn chowder. Happy hunting bud!
I've been spearfishing a couple times in Lake Mead, NV and it's a freakin' great time. It's also a freakin' great workout. Good luck, my friend. You'll get it down soon.
I think 🤔 if you want to harvest some fish you would be better off with a rod and reel and some good smallmouth lures 👍🐟 plus I'm sure it has some walleye
I'm not a free diver myself, but have picked up some hints how to become one from guys who dive and spear fish all the time, like Plukky on 'Sailing into Freedom', James on 'Zingaro' and Riley on 'La Vagabonde'. And I'm sure there are plenty other non-cruiser channels with more in-depth details. Haven't seen many from freshwater tho ...
Normally i dont comment but i will here, you should stick to this type of content so your channel can grow and get some fins a lot faster less stamina wasted

Yeah the haters days were pretty ridiculous🤦
I loved this and respect the way you enjoy what life has to offer. It's good to have you back and your editing is incredible. Thanks Jake

Good that you have a good understanding of the local regs and are identifying the fish properly! Much respect! Love the new content 🍻

One of the best smallie lakes to fish in our county! Alot of people spear whitefish from boats with lights right before ice up..

Talk about old footage, I miss Jade, she was a great jeep.
I was wondering about that. Been subbed since 2015 or so, Jade was a staple of the channel. Very strange seeing her again in this vid!
Next purchase… swim fins.
Fins and a weight belt my dude. Great video!
yup ... was thinkin the same thing ... fins will help move more water with less energy ...
Miss you man. Hope life is well and good
Great video work! Keep em coming!
and a weight belt

I’m not sure of licensing costs and access costs and whatnot up that way, might be significantly cheaper to spearfish once you have your gear?

Great to see you back in that configuration of Jeep. Is that a CJ or YJ?
Jakey good to have another vid my dude
Excellent!
You bought a speargun but didn’t get flippers? I would’ve thought those 2 things go together like peas and carrots.
The water is calling you.
what species can you harvest?
Swimfins?
I recommend that if you're going to be swimming a lot, get some fins. Doing the huge breast stroke and frog kicks would probably spook the fish.
Did you find anything cool on floor bed? You've gotta be the first person to do that there, I'll bet you find some cool stuff if you search.
I think he found an Aztec Wisconsin lake pyramid.
He's resting on top of the stone pyramid at the end.
New sub! Liked 🙏😀☺️
👍
its kinda at the point where you just leave after they deposit the revenue now
Definitely need to get some fins so you can glide through the water and not need your arms for swimming.
