i just wish these were playable in the background, or at the very least while doing other things in-game. even if you toggle on 'ignore window focus' for the audio, the logs stop playing as soon as you tab out.
I enjoy the background lore of this game, but I don't enjoy it so much I want to sit on a story screen for 40 minutes doing nothing but reading what i'm already hearing. appreciate you posting it to youtube so i can listen this way.

I have been attempting to make sense of this storyline since I listened to it. So the Beekeeper ventured into the mound and climbed upon the empty altar to become a "legend above all others". Was she trying to become one with this hatching larvae thing (whatever it is)? Or merely sacrificing herself to it? Curious if it is meant to hint at the next wild boss target or not. Some kind of hive queen?

The Beekeeper has either a split personality or an actual mother who for all purposes is a carbon copy - much like how bees all look alike. Beekeeper is following in the footsteps of her mother.
The Land of Dead has sculptures of lets say...foreshadowing of deaths. (Sheriff Hardin death foreshadowed with the train scene??) The Land of The Dead is the realm of The Sculptor (the big bad) from there all kind of creatures are portaled to the Bayou. The Beekeeper sought to find the new Target being hatched by the Sculptor, since it was bug-like; she is Demented they don't care absorbing or being absorbed by Targets.

Unlike the devils trilogy this one feels it has a nice conclusion, ill probably have to listen to it some more to fully comprehend it but it seems to clear up some confusing parts about tide of corruption and shadows.

Agreed, I loved the Moon series story but it ends midfight of Kevin and Chary after Kevin pulling a 3rd day resurrection a la Jesus.
Then Tide of Shadows starts about fetid rain, the Bayou being in pain and the mysterious Rotjaw.
Tide series also left things unexplained- Chary, Finch, the Moon in Land of the Dead, Enola (little girl Rotjaw was trying to smuggle in her belly to the Land of The Living) Although apparently Rotjaw swallowing the Murmurstone was an unexpected accident.
Gar still being alive, sort of?
      Sheriff Hardin possibly dying.
Its has an ending, sure, but in Hunt fashion it's weird that Drowned got happy ending (and cheated Death to boot?) While also becoming more corrupted/Sculptor blessed than actual Targets.
      Something is not right...
