  • Preikestolen/Pulpit Rock Hike in western Norway in early spring. Snow hiking one of the most stunning view points in the world. Probably the most famous view in Norway.
This hike was done at the end of march 2022 from the Preikestolen trailhead. I took the ferry across the Lyse fjord to get to the trailhead, but you can also drive the Ryfast tunnel from Stavanger. There was snow on the trail from around half way, you should bring or rent micro spikes at the store by the trailhead and parking. Parking is 250 kroner a day, micro spikes rental is 100 kroner.
I decided to go completely silent with this hike, no talking.
Filmed in 10 bit 4:2:2 HDR with Sony A7m4
Keep in mind that drones are illegal on and around Preikestolen.
About me: I am a Norwegian adventurer and wilderness explorer. My youtube channel focus on outdoor wilderness adventures and exploration, backpacking, hiking, canyoneering, skiing, climbing and mountaineering. Nights spent in a tent, alone or with friends. From the snow covered mountains and misty fjords of Norway and Scandinavia to the remote plateaus of Yellowstone and the debts of the red canyons of Utah to the summit of Mt Whitney and the heart of Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park. I love the Wilderness! Email is under "For business inquiries", for general questions please comment on a video, I try to answer everyone.

Wow. This view. I have been there in 1989 at age 16. The view from Preikestolen along Lysefjorden is imprinted in my memory for ever. Many thanks for bringing me back to this place. I have to and will return in person.

@@NorwegianXplorer My preferences too are "nobody around" but everything depends from how they are polite : good hikers never bother me but noisy , rude people make me feel to ...push them sometimes :) ...and it's very effective at the Pulpit Rock :) :) :) .

Beautful, beautiful hike, I have been there in 2018 in August. Slightly more people but it was still okay for me.
These snow patches on the last part really forced you to walk directly next to the abyss. I would have pooped my pants ;-)
I made a picture down the rock but I was lying on my belly and only my hand reached over the edge. I could never stand so close to the edge like you did. Respect!
Reminds me to Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible - Fallout ;-)
    Safe travels

However, it seems to be part of the job... :-) Amazing snow-covered fjells above deep dizzling fjords. Incredibly beautifull ! Cfr. min. 13.30. Fantastic sunset at the end ! So have you spent the day there until the evening ??... Take care, my friend, and thanks for your efforts and courage !
