I had an amazing hike to Norways most iconic landmark, the Pulpit Rock, Preikestolen, earlier this month. Preikestolen is a “free standing” ledge/plateau leaning out over the Lysefjord, in Rogaland, with a 1982 ft straight drop into the fjord, offering incredible and gut wrenching views of the fjord below and surrounding mountains. Its a classic destination and I had the most wonderful weather to get the most out of it and filmed it all in 5k resolution. As a bonus I got to drive the deepest and longest sub sea tunnel to get to the trailhead. Enjoy!!
The hike to the rock was just as spectacular as the rock itself. Amazing that you were able to capture footage with very few people around. Every video I've seen of the rock shows hundreds of people milling about on top of the rock. Just gorgeous views 360 degrees! Love the music as well as it sets a tone for the visuals. The sea tunnel was impressive as well. Thanks for sharing Jarl.
Amazing to say the least. You must have felt great peace and exhilaration at the same time. To close to the edge for me...made my stomach tingle. Mission impossible Fallout is partly filmed on the Pulpit Rock. Tom Cruise makes some amazing stunts on the rock. Experience the rock in the movie and in real life.
Jarl dangling 3 extremities over the edge while using his remaining hand to hold his camera just after explaining how he wouldn’t want to be here when the inevitable crack severs that edge of the cliff off plunging it thousands of feet into the fjord.
The scenery is splendid, magnificent, overwhelming. However, sitting on the top of the rock, walking on the extreme edges, just to have a beautiful picture, is an unnecessary exposure of your life, it 's defying, threathening death. Only one wrong step is sufficient ........!
@@NorwegianXplorer YOU KNOW BEING IN NATURE WE LEARN TO LIVE WITH COURAGE , TO BE STRONGER IN MANY LEVELS OF OUR LIFE . FOR SURE THIS HAS ALLREADY HAPPENED TO ME .
Too scary for me what if i dropped my car keys or my wallet? Some people even bring their dog which is stupid! That HUGE crack is way too dangerous any strong Earthquake can easily bring those people down there. They should add safety fence people have slipped and fall there already maybe the wind is too strong or the rock is wet. Because they walk too close on the edges they think they're super hero.

@@gibsonphilippines4901 Yes I hiked alone, thank you!
I haven't finished watching yet, but around the 17 minute mark, what are all the locks on the fence for?
Its just stupid tourist stuff, the same people who put up cairns on every beach in Norway
How long does the hike up take? How strenuous is it?
I would say a 3 hours, not very strenous, but I guess it depends, there is some elevation gain
Mission impossible Fallout is partly filmed on the Pulpit Rock. Tom Cruise makes some amazing stunts on the rock. Experience the rock in the movie and in real life.
👍
I have a dream
Seems to be a overcrowded tourist attraction. When did you go there so you were allone?
In October on a weekday, it is a horrible place in tourist season, i wouldnt go anywhere near it
@@NorwegianXplorer Ok, i see.
👍😍🚶🏼
🙏
Jarl dangling 3 extremities over the edge while using his remaining hand to hold his camera just after explaining how he wouldn’t want to be here when the inevitable crack severs that edge of the cliff off plunging it thousands of feet into the fjord.
Hahaha, point taken, I dont think its gonna fall of quite yet though:-)
you should have brought your fishing pole with 2000ft of line, then cooked it up there with the best dinner view EVER!!
Lol!
I use to think it's an overrated attractions.... but it's actually amazing
Same, it had been many years and I was blown away coming back this time
Hi, how are you?
: November is going to pass and December will be December. It's winter. I hope health and good things will be together this week. ^O^
Thanks the same, looking forward to winter!
Your next video TROLLTUNGA!!!
Haha, maybe!
The scenery is splendid, magnificent, overwhelming. However, sitting on the top of the rock, walking on the extreme edges, just to have a beautiful picture, is an unnecessary exposure of your life, it 's defying, threathening death. Only one wrong step is sufficient ........!
Really, thanks for letting me know🤷♂️
Hi, it was in which month?
I dont remember really
@@NorwegianXplorer okay but which month there will be less crowd?
Weekdays in the fall or spring, summer it is packed every day
I ran out of words, don't know where n how to begin my description
I hope in a positive way!
WHY ON THE EDGE OF THE ROCK ? IT WAS SO FRIGHTENING TO SEE IT EVEN ON A VIDEO .
Why not? there was no wind to speak of
@@NorwegianXplorer YOU KNOW BEING IN NATURE WE LEARN TO LIVE WITH COURAGE , TO BE STRONGER IN MANY LEVELS OF OUR LIFE . FOR SURE THIS HAS ALLREADY HAPPENED TO ME .
@@dimitrastavrou3761 True!
@@NorwegianXplorer THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR ANSWERS . YOU ARE KIND WITH PHILOSOPHICAL THOUGHT . WITH LOVE FROM GREECE.
@@dimitrastavrou3761 Thank you, appreciate your comments!
Stay indoor and watch TV
