Great video! I was wondering what brand you’d recommend for detail work on hardwoods? Cherry walnut etc? I was using a flex cut but it seems a bit flimsy with hardwoods.

I also use Ashley's chisels, they surpass pfeil, I think Ashley Iles chisels are № 1 in the world

Alex, you really need to take a close look at Stubai tools. Just about everything you said about Pfeil gouges in this video is also true for Stubai and Stubai's tools are 20-30% cheaper than Pfeil. Their U gouges are true U shapes, they have all sizes, their V gouges always have very well formed elongated diamond shapes at the apex, their fishtails are true fishtail and their steel is a special Böhler K110 blend which is just excellent, in m opinion. Yes, the other manufacturers are more readily available in the US market but, for me, it's worth it to have them shipped in via

I have almost all pfiel tools but one German Hirsch, I have been told by a carver friend that a German #2 is flatter than a pfiel and it can benefit you sometimes.( Lower Delaware 34 degrees
