Can I fix it? Xiaomi Mi Robovac 'Error 1' fault. Starts up but doesn't move.

Hello all once again to another can I fix it video. Today we have this rather superb looking Xiaomi Mi intelligent robotic vacuum cleaner that I purchased, but turned out to be faulty. So rather than complain and ask for my money back, its time to roll up my sleeves and try to fix this. Was I successful? Stick around and find out :)

As the previous owner of the device in question, I can confirm that the dirt clogging the laser was hair belonging to Franco, our cat. Sorry that we hadn’t cleaned it as thoroughly as we had thought, and very impressed at seeing how you fixed it!

Thank you for this video. I’ve had my machine apart and back together several time but I was never able to find the issue. But cleaning the small bit of hair and dust from the motor shaft resolved the issue. Who would’ve ever guessed it? Well, I guess you did…lol.

Hi Shaun. I need a cog to fix my eufy 11+. You mentioned in a previous video that you had purchased a bag of cogs that had one that worked. Could you send me a link to where I could buy the same bag. Thanks for your help.

@@SimpleShaun80 Hi Shaun. I don't think it will be as simple as getting a cog from an assorted bag. The cog that has failed in mine is the one interfacing with the motor brass cog. The teeth are angled. Not parallel with the shaft. I don't see any like that in pictures on Amazon.

@@SimpleShaun80 Hi Shaun. I could not find that cog, it's helical. However, I did manage to fix the problem. It's only run once since I repaired it so I cannot attest to the longevity of the solution. If you send me a way to contact you outside youtube I will send you a few pictures and description of what I did. You can add it to your bag of tricks for fixing these things
and maybe help out another viewer. Cheers.
